Hey Guys! Today's video is my monthly budget with me for November 2020 in my budget planner. I'm sharing my monthly budget, debt tracker, saving tracker, sinking funds, and goals for the month of November. How are you guys preparing for the holidays!? Are you using a budget planner to stay on top of everything?
I keep avoiding budgeting this week because I just made a huge purchase. But seeing your videos lessen my anxiety and I realized that it's alright to buy something that we want as long as we're still doing our responsibility. Thank you for your consistency. I always get something meaningful every time you post.
I would definitely love to see more of your paycheck to paycheck budget videos. I've binged practically all of your videos at this point, but numbers have never really been my thing and I'm pretty new to trying to get myself on a written budget, so I need all the help LOL. Plus, I'm a visual learner, so I like to see what someone is doing as it's being explained. 🙂
#GOALS, I have about $6500 left on my car and have also began an aggressive repayment plan to be finished in January. Just in time to restart student loan repayments, yay!! Payments will cancel one another out and have minimal effect on my current budget. Then it will be time to reconfigure the budget. Look forward to seeing your progress!!!
I set this up in Oct and it worked so well!!! I kept track of all my income including birthday cash gifts, grocery gift cards, everything! I kept on top of my bank balance and every bill was paid on time. Since i am unemployed i am not saving bc i need every penny but wow this helped me so much. I have 4 wks of expense trackers to see what i spent and wjere too.
Yes please do the paycheck to paycheck plan with me’s. I’m trying to figure it out being paid semi-monthly but want ease of my finances weekly! I know it can happen with the transfers. You inspire me a whole lot Alaina. Thank you so much 😊
Just watched this video and created a different / better budget, simultaneously, using your tips! Ahhhh.... It feels nice! Your method is going to help immensely to pay our bills down and off. Thank you for posting this video.
I actually decided to try your color coding system for budgeting! I really love this method it makes it so easy to keep on top of my biweekly income and what I need to pay bills and how much I can save or spend!
I love your budgeting with me videos. They are very inspirational. I’m working on paying my mortgage off by Aug 22, so it’s good to see how others are saving and paying bills.
Keep going on your budget! I paid off $10k in student loans, and my last car payment is $490 which will be paid off in January. So, with that said, I can finish off my credit card debts faster with the extra paid off car payment. Just remember, I keep a $1000 emergency fund on hand in case some disaster hits (it did last month with car breaking down, but now building it back up again).
I love your channel. We are trying to pay off our mortgage, but I am a teacher, and my husband works in retail, so it's taking us a while. I might check out your ESTY shop for my 2020 budget calendar. Love the video. Happy holidays!
Had so many good thoughts 💭 watching this Alaina! How blessed is your husband to have you watching over the finances! Your content here is inspiring! On another note 📝 4 wisdom teeth 🦷 removed 😱! Can’t you just leave them alone? Maybe they are what makes you so wise in planning and budgeting! 🧐🤗. JK--That’s the ol skool (folks from the south) in me😁
Excellent info. And for both you and your husband to have successful businesses (self-employed) is amazing. Your blog is fabulous, and your info is excellent. We are debt free except our mortgage. And we’re headed toward paying that off in less than 5 years. It’s new build and we just closed on it spring of 2019. We use a spreadsheet with a lot of tabs for our expenses. We allocate funds to each category (e.g. hair/nails; Christmas; Other Gifts; Auto Mntnc; Groceries, etc.). We actually paid cash for our most current brand new vehicle for the first time. W have one vehicle that’s older but in great shape. No car payments! When we paid payments for our cars, after paying them off, we just kept that payment going into savings so that years later when it came time for a new car, we’d either have a huge down payment or could pay cash for it’s entire cost. It felt so great to buy a luxury car with cash paid in full! Anyway. Thx for the marvelous videos. You share very personal info in order to teach others. That’s very kind of you.
You are my budget spirit animal. So polished and succinct. Can you do a debt and investment snapshot.....what are your long term goals? I vote "Yes" to Paycheck to Paycheck Budgets
I have some high quality colored pencils I use to denote which bill goes with each check. I'm using my mini for my budget planner. This works well because I can throw it in my bag with my wallet when I go to run errands.
Great video!! Yes please I would love to see pay check to pay check again, even if it’s a couple of times a month instead of every week. But it’s really useful, when I do my weekly budget sometimes I get confused with myself, like my numbers don’t add up but the bank is okay.... so I don’t understand it properly and seeing you doing it helps a lot!!
Going to be ordering my planner for the new year and I can’t wait. You and I budget very similar which is so nice, bc I’ve yet to meet anyone that does. Question, any chance you would ever do a two page spread monthly view instead of the one page?
You can pay off the car by the end of the year!!! 2020 has been a crazy year, go into 2021 with a bang!!! Use some of your savings, how fast can you build up that savings again? My guess would be really fast because you don’t want to feel vulnerable. You can do it, I’ll be paying off $24k of student loans by the end of the year and I don’t have the income you have but at the same time I will saving at least one month of expenses just to feel some financial stability, and throw everything at the debt. I love your videos, it’s so clean and organized :)
I love your planner. I don't like the week starting on Monday, maybe its a Canadian thing, but most of our calendars start on Sunday. i wish i can change the start of the calendar, it kind of screws me up when all my other planners, calendars etc start on the sunday but not this one.
Love these videos of yours. I've had all 4 wisdom teeth removed when I was a teenager. I couldn't eat anything but soup for a few days. Saved my parents money from food and I lost a bit of weight 😂
Alaina I love this. It’s so clear. I got my budget planner over a month ago but didn’t want to start using it til January, I have been using my regular YNAB budget in the meantime. However seeing you do the budget step by step, I’m going to do mine step by step while rewatching this. Thanks so much! Btw, how did you come up with 2.5% for offering?
I was wondering about home taxes. I am automatically putting money into saving account to cover taxes. But wondering how you do it. Sinking fund? In an escrow account? Thank you for your video and clear instructions!
@@clairlambright8629 Hers might be included in her mortgage. As per my choice, mine are not. I have a weekly set amount going automatically to high yield interest account dedicated to taxes and major household expenses so yes, it is a sinking fund.
@@Dancemaniac63 Thank you. My set amount goes into a Christmas Club account so I can’t get at it, but it is not yielding a high interest, not even close. Thanks for advice!
How do you fit the classic planner with the tul planner cover. My classic planner uses 9 disc and the Junior tul planner cover uses 8 disc and the big tul planner cover uses 11disc. Which tul planner cover are you using in this video?
Hey! I don’t use the Tul cover for my classic. I was using the Tul cover when I had the big happy planner which had 11 discs. Now I’m currently using a Happy Planner cover for my classic size
So it’s ok to contribute to Savings, even though you have large Debts?? Why not pay more off the Debts, then Save? It costs you more in interest. Can you tell us your thinking behind this, please? I’ve been asking this of myself, for when my 0% interest period ends.
Hey. It's for my own sense of security. A couple of years ago, I brought our savings down to $1,000 to pay off debt. I paid down $25,000 before we got hit with a bunch on unexpected expenses. Things we couldn't avoid like our refrigerator breaking down. I didn't have enough in savings to cover all of the unexpected expenses and I had to use a credit card. It was heart breaking. Because I no longer had a savings and now I was in more debt. This time around, I decided to save along with paying off debt. Yes, I pay more in interest. Yes, it will take me longer....but I have a sense of security that I didn't have before and I am focused on my goal. We will reach our goal and we will be able to handle anything that comes our way in the process.
Hi quick question for you I understand where the 10% comes from for tithes how did you come up with 2.5% for offerings? Is that just a personal number or is that something biblical that you can share?
We have some of the same clients since he is in social media marketing and I am in finance...but we don't have a video talking about it. I'm going to have to film one.
