    Would like to see a 12G sdi model too.. 6G is nice but if you are going to do 4K you want 50/60P on SDI.. So 12G-SDI it is. Would be very usefull.

    Is all NDI sufficient for live projected 1080p events on gigabit? Say if there was 3 cameras for a live music event all going through NDI (maybe two PTZ NDI cameras and another HDMI camera converted NDI), switching between all those inputs and then sending back over NDI to 3 different projectors (with NDI to HDMI converters). Would you see a noticeable video delay to the live audio on the screens to the viewer that can see both the live event and the projection screens? Would there be a limit at some point to how many cameras and screens before you would see more lagging for 1080p?

    Why does this need ethernet directly? Can you explain the process from the switch to vmix (e.g. if I have vmix on a laptop, how do I get the video from the switch to the laptop). Also why is a switch necessary and how does this compare to an HDMI video card?

    Thank you for your content. May I Know what the switching hub it is?

    Interesting. What’s the latency like for this device in frames or milliseconds?

    • @Magewell
      @Magewell 5 лет назад

      The latency is limited within 60 milliseconds for the whole journey.

    Can it be used with multiple cameras (4) the same way? That is all the NDI connections to the switch and the switch connected to the laptop? Will that work well with the ability to take advantage of all vMix can do?

    • @vMixhd
      @vMixhd  5 лет назад

      Yes, you could use multiple devices to connect multiple cameras. They work as a converter from HDMI to NDI, so you could have your camera plugged into the device next to the camera then run long network cables to your switch. vMix is then able to pick up any NDI sources on the network. You'll want to have at least a gigabit network for multiple NDI sources.

      @@vMixhd Thank you for the reply. I'm still a bit confused in that, I'm not clear on networks. Without a network... I couldn't run into just a laptop through the switch. (?)

      NDI requires a network in order to work. Each NDI source needs to establish its own local IP Address within the network. When using multiple NDI sources, you will also need a gigabit enabled network (eg. Gigabit router) so that it has enough bandwidth to send and receive each of these sources. Damn its $1k? I just want to send a power point feed into a network with a few other cameras.

      This is 4K60p, so it's a premium model. I have a feeling there will be a cheaper HD model out soon...

      @@vMixhd Cheaper HD models will really be appreciated. Have you ever experienced any bottleneck with NDI sources on the switch level?

    • @BuriTechVids
      @BuriTechVids 5 лет назад +1

      @@AyoolaBoyejo Why would they experience some bottleneck? You have to buy switch with switching capacity you need and use LAN cables you need (100Mbps/1Gbps/10Gbps networking). I think that there is not a bottleneck on the switch level. :) For example, I have Netgear GS108E with IGMP Proxy support. They have 8x 1Gbps ports with 16 Gbps switching capacity. It means that every port has 1 Gbps up link, 1 Gbps down link capacity. I think that for this it's good solution. BUT, but have to remember: Everything goes to single port (to vMix), so, if you have a lot of cameras, you have to consider 10 Gbps network connectivity to "vMix machine" OR some round-robin networking (1+1 Gbps). But hey.. I wish they make Full HD version with cheaper price. For starting company this is a lot of money.

      @@BuriTechVids Thanks for your response, truly a 10gb port on the vmix system will be needed. Probably with a SFP+ card.
