For future reference, you'll get better lift if you ditch the oil because it creates a barrier between your hair shaft and the lightener, so the lightener can't act to its full potential. And if you stay an inch away from your scalp and do lightener with 30vol on your roots but use foils to keep the bleach from drying out it will lift better. Then use lightner and 20 vol on your scalp because the heat from your head makes it lift lighter, so you don't need a high developer. And this can all be done in one process instead of 3 (:
mercedes in cases like that it's either A. An allergic reaction to the products used or B. The developer used is too high. The coconut oil helps reduce that because it's creating that barrier between your scalp and the bleach. Always make sure to follow manufacturers directions when using bleach. Most say you can't use 30 or 40 volume on the scalp.
I did my own hair from blonde to brown with box dye what most professionals hate. And everybody asks me who did my hair and that they really like it. Im not a hairdresser but allot of tips on youtube helped me allot. You did a great job
I agree 100% it is easier to put it all on your head and then go back and do the parts that need fixing. Thank you for inspiring me to give my hair a break and let my roots grow out a lot before I bleach them have the confidence to know I'll get it right.
Try to get your hands on schwarzkopf blonde me bleach! its awesome! They make a great Lifting toner too that you can use if you have spots to fix so you dont have to bleach a second time. 3 months ago I bleached my hair at home from pitch black (asian black) to dark blonde in 1 day, which was 2 sittings! I used the Blond Me powder + developer and it is great. I saw the lift after only 10 mins. Now i have to do the grown out parts but i'm scared 😅
Syl K J blonde brilliance lilac toner at Sally’s is the best toner I’ve ever used especially compared to the popular wella toner. It has a platinum golden wheat and a rose toner also
If you get the chance to grab some fanola no yellow shampoo :) should take out any remaining yellow tones in your hair & if recommend it over shimmer lights
The reason I watch all of your videos and like you so much is because you have zero fucks to give when it comes to people's opinions. PLEASE DON'T EVER CHANGE. 💜💜
I get my hair bleached at beauty schools, but I've been toning it myself for 6 years. The two best methods for toning is either Wella T-18 from Sallys, or the cheaper and my favorite method is mixing Manic Panic ultra violet (pea sized to 1 tbsp) in with enough clear or white conditioner to tone. Cover the head starting at the roots, leave on for 10 mins or longer, and just do strand tests along the way when you think it's almost done. The manic panic method is so much cheaper as you use so little each time. Been working on my jar for well over a year. That with regular use of purple or silver shampoo will keep you in good shape. I always just buy the Generic brand from Sallys. For name brand, I like the shimmer lights.
looks great! i finally did mine too but i had only been growing them about 5 months. i went 20 months without dying my hair back from june2012-march2014. My hair has been in great shape ever since! Keep up with doing masks & coconut oil treatments. Olaplex treatments are also awesome! If you cant get your heads on some, usually you can get a treatment for $20 from a salon. Its totally worth it and you only need one about once a month.💙💙
ayyy. Wella T18 is amazing for toning out yellow. You may have been able to get away with toning your hair and spared your hair the third bleach. I'm not a professional, but this is a great toner if you're looking to acheive a white blonde.
Try using a purple shampoo in the shower and leave it in for a few min then wash it out!!! It will take the yellow brassy color. You can get any cheap purple shampoo that works at any drug store like Walgreens or walmart
TurnUpQueen same here I have rhi rhi red. My roots look terrible right now but I have a broken arm so until my fiancé gets out of prison I’m stuck with brown at the top 😑

I use the Ion Bright White Creme Lightener from Sally’s with a 20 vol developer and it does really good on my super dark drown hair. Depending on how long I let my roots grow, I can usually get it to where I want it in one bleach, but sometimes it takes two. They also have a olaplex dupe that is super cheap and has worked great for me.
