I went my entire life, “colorblind”, “grey is my favorite color”, believing this man was half black/white and it turns out he’s just jewish but had dreads lol
I love this song, but I never understood why artist can't just perform it like they recorded it, it's always gotta be slightly off timing and weirdly sung or changed up in some way so no one can sing along like they did a million times to the album. It's distracting at the least and makes the song awkward and hard to enjoy and follow along. I feel bad for the musicians that have to try and keep tempo when the vocals are late coming in or off completely you'd almost have to ignore it to stay in the flow especially the drummer. Still enjoying it, but it just doesn't have the same feeling when it's off and weirdly performed is all I'm saying.
They wrote the song. It is their song. They have the right to perform it anyway they choose. Counting Crows normally change up versions of pretty much every single live. That's what makes an artist special.

It's called an opinion Brian and if you haven't heard yet, they're like assholes everyone has one... Yet you still feel the urge and the need to try and bully people and invalidate their thoughts and ideas. You have tyrant tendencies so I can only pray you're not in charge of people at your work. I would take this bullshit version 1000x vs if they tried to fake us out and use backing tracks just like a lot of pop artists do live, so in that regard, I respect them as true musicians who actually play live music, and I am sure his voice is fried after decades of touring so I imagine he probably just can't hit the same vocal range he did as a young man. At the end of the day, it's not what makes them special but that doesn't mean it doesn't make it special for you, and that's okay too it's your opinion and you can have it, just don't try and tell me wtf to think and say.
