I have been on a journey of self discovery for the past three years.. At some point in my life I thought I was abnormal experiencing some of the things you mentioned in that list! It has become clearer and clearer the more I deepened my understanding of self actualisation. Your videos are a great find Leo. Thanks a lot xx
Thank you so kindly. These attributes of self-actualization are so beautiful that it could bring a tear to someones eye when they realize the beauty of becoming this person. For me, it brings me to a deeper level with God. I appreciate your work here.
My mentor was mentored by Maslow. He taught me that while Maslow's model is helpful to aspire to, we're not as rigid as one single hierarchy. In other words we're not going to be actualizing our potential in all areas of our life all at the same time.
Leo, I am so thankful and grateful to have found actualized.org. I have been watching for only two weeks and I want to be a better person everyday. You have taught me so much about what I can do with my life. I am about to become an empty nester and have been feeling lost on what I do now that my children are grown. I realize that it's my time now!! My time to work on me, to learn to grow and to be the best I can be. Thank you for this site and channel. You have helped me in so many ways. I'm a fan for life and will be part of this site for life. I WILL become self actualized!!!

I was exposed to a lot of things, I was not free from making mistakes as an adolescent, but I grew from what I learned, and most of all, I learned the benefits, far outweighed my personal gains. I had to except my conditions, and at the same time work with what I have. That didn't always go over so well, but my endgame was always aimed at achieving my goals for all to benefit! I came to realize that if I benefit from anything I always wanted anyone and everyone around me to also benefit from my successes, and I wanted to share whatever, I gained with anyone and everyone! When you share these thoughts with people, their first reaction is this is beautiful but it's not realistic, and then they fail to want to make any concessions and try to achieve these goals for the whole! What comes across strongest about you is your freely expressed spirit! I am almost 60 and only two years ago, I finally found an explanation to my existence. My spiritual life stems from A Course In Miracles of which I am guessing you may know a little about. Since studying "the course" I have peace in my life like never before and I am now with a man who is the love of my life. What you are teaching closely parallels A Course in Miracle, and I find it serendipitous and fascinating that I found you on the internet while I was looking for a way to stay motivated to lose weight. I hope to learn more about your one-on-one coaching. Thanks Leo, you are one evolved dude!
E Calyptus I have heard of the Course in Miracles, never got a chance to read it. I think anther person you might benefit from listening to is Dr Wayne Dyer (in terms of spirituality). You can search for his talks on RUclips,
Leo, you are quite an incredibly inspiring person. With people like you in this world, there is a wonderful hope for the progression of all mankind - progressing until we all reach our higher-selves. I've been watching your videos here and there over the last day and wanted to say thank you for shining your light. I'm currently on the path and with continue on steadfast.
I discovered your channel about 3 years ago. I built myself up and used your practices to help me grow. I accomplished so much! Then Idk what happened, but I lost my motivation to continue my self actualization lifestyle. Anyways, I’m back and ready to get back to the best version of myself. I just think of you often and I wanted to say thank you for helping me fight my demons and restore my mental health.
A potential issue is if you grew up as a perfectionist where your best is never enough, so you're always worrying about your flaws even when you are doing great work and part of you knows that it's great but you refuse to allow yourself the benefit of the doubt and you need it to be PERFECT. For those of us that fit this description, self-actualization may be as much about resting in solace with your own imperfection, as it is about achieving your utmost potential. Cuz really, the fact that you exist at all is already an actualization of infinite underlying potential. 👌
What an amazing concept self actualization is. This is what American education reform needs. Why was I not taught at an extremely young age about this concept of self actualization and working towards being my ideal person? It is a life changing concept that I had to discover through years of sadness until I made self actualization my goal during my senior year of high school. I feel as though self actualization is a continuous goal, and I will be on the pursuit for self actualization for the rest of my life - and I am perfectly happy with that.
Nick Miller You are right, self actualization is a process, not an end goal. Want to know why society does not encourage Self-Actualization and non-conformity? Emerson put it eloquently in his essay Self-Reliance: "Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. Society is a joint-stock company, in which the members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and culture of the eater. The virtue in most request is conformity. Self-reliance is its aversion. It loves not realities and creators, but names and customs."
Hey Leo, One day thousands of people will read and study all your hard work and research on it, the contribution you have made is laudable. you have deep knowledge of ancient knowledge from around the world by deeply analyzing and experiencing them. For example- few people have ability to understand Sanskrit texts and get the wisdom from it and translate it in simple English so anyone can understand it. please start writing books, mankind need this. love from India.
Leo, you rock! You put in simple words the essence of being a human being, wisdom that is known to many but not known to most of us human beings. Your work is amazing. Thanks
The best most understanding ideology I have seen as a 21 year old Hispanic male. Drink, get high-even to this man. Do you smoke weed? Do you get high? Do you get lost in the clouds of satisfaction? If so, then listen, watch, and understand this guy. Not only is he attractive but he further digs deeper to the meaning of his I knowledge. He is beautiful.
Self Actualization is a very powerful and amazing thing. Most people are scared to go that far. One thing you say is that - settling for less than your best will cause self rot. Only thing with that is what if the person dosent know what their best is? How would they know if they are settling? Also, setting goals and accomplishments is a very subjective thing because value systems for each individual are completely different. If my dad thinks having a great job and money is accomplishing goals and accepting challenges what about when one is like an empath or has this amazing special gift to engage and love others as hard as they can and fully embrace that gift they have regardless of challenges and they think that is way more an accomplishment then the job or money. Then one individual puts value on something completely different then the other. So, how can one reconcile what their best is. They may not know if the need is met or not. I personally think Self Actualization is a choice shaping moment that happens - if are aware enough to get that far - and it takes lots of experiences in life and lots of love and pain and people and learning from lots failures and wins that at some point its like - this is me. An existential awakening like in Wicked where Elphaba says she is going to take that leap and defy gravity. In Steely Dan "Deacon Blues" when Fagan says " gonna cross that final line " The awareness took a lot lo to achieve. I feel it is a whole other level of confidence and appreciation and it gives you the capacity to love others even harder. Thank you for talking about it
Getting over yourself (ego) is truly eye opening. WE are Peace, Love, and Hope If you follow your heart and not someone else's you can truly be happy. Enjoy every second, good or bad. How do you know what pain feels like if you never experienced it? And that's our gift, Choice, use it wisely or regret it for entirety.
I really love your sparkling ideas, and I am happy to realize that I have lots of the traits you just mentioned, your speech has inspired me to really appreciate the talent inside of myself, I am so happy to be myself!
A half year ago, I couldnt get the value of this concept. Now, my whole 24 hours are about it to never lose track of humanities potential (again)! 5:20-6:28 Thank You Leo!
Actualized.org Mainly I am referring to the really abstract ones who are confident enough in what they do that they are willing to create something that is subject to being judged, such as Mike Patton. But I definitely agree with your opinion as well. It's never black or white, its a gray area. By the way, this is one of the best channels I have discovered on RUclips.
6Mega6Man6 Successful artists do usually have what I would call "artistic courage", but I wouldn't say that makes them self-actualized. They are just very good at their craft and perhaps avant guard.
6Mega6Man6 Self-actualization isn't some magical state you reach. It's an ideal. It's a big spectrum. I associate with all types of people, although of course I prefer those who are growth-oriented, and most of my friends are into self-help.
I've been writing my dissertation about accessibility, inclusion and funding to public arts programmes and institutions. Some of the arguments I've found myself writing about have been in relation to the way art's funding, though small in comparison to other areas of funding, may be considered as eating into the funds for more pressing issues such as health care and social housing, obvious needs for survival. It's been interesting hearing theories that despite the obvious basic physical needs, there is still a necessity for creative outlets in society for individuals to reach their full potential and further society as a whole, and that for societies advancement all must be included and given a right to the language of self expression, which for many couldnt be achieved without creative funding, especially those with intellectual disabilities. Not even sure I'll have a straight forward conclusion, but your content on manslow's theories have been really useful
the way to change your life is to build credibility with yourself, say you are going to do something then follow up with what you said no matter what- start small then set your self harder and harder tasks
Leo, thank you! (: there are no languages, and words in those languages that can even minutely define the inspiration you have given me. thank you once again!
Thank you Leo. Your content has really added to my self development. I know I am not an actualized person myself. But my god do you have a way of making life feel like it is a magnicent playground that all of us should be playing on.
Thank you Leo I've been watching your videos for about a month now and I am already noticing a big difference in my confidence! I was starting my journey of enlightenment but was still very confused on a lot of things! I just want to say THANK YOU and I'm feeling very inspired and motivated!
I'm so intrigued but I can't stay focused for so long. my mind starts wandering and ohh wow look at that I'm writing this comment while the videos still going on x)
This is so helpful, it's like I know this but somehow forgotten. You do a great job explaining everything. Love your channel and I recommend it to all my friends.
Wow Leo this is amazing. I listen to your videos while at work and I have been on this journey of personal development for only a few weeks and I really have finally started to understand a lot about myself and my behaviors. I think human development is definitely something that needs to be taught in schools. I am only 20 and I have only just started to think about my life and life in general and what I want to make of it. A lot of the time we get taught to go to school and learn our ABC's and it is in the middle of all of that we, young people especially, start to get lost in the craziness of the world. There are a lot of challenges in life that we don't get taught how to deal with and these are the things that shape and affect our thinking and maturity. I think the world needs to start paying more attention to how we can make us individually stronger humans and only then we can really start changing the world. Moral of the story, I wish I new all of this growing up and knew what to expect of life and how to manage life so I can get the most from it. Luckily it's not too late for me as I am only just about to finish University and kick start my life but if I didn't know this I would have probably just ended up in some office working a 9 to 5 and fulfilling someone else' dreams on the sharp end of the organisation and living a mediocre life because I think that is what I am worth.
Hi Leo, you understand what Stoic described, I have been practicing Stoicism for many years, and after reading Maslow's books, I realized that his concept is based on Stoicism. Just in a language understandable to the average person. It's like he's created a conceptual apparatus for his philosophical system.
Soren Kierkegaard said something like "becoming a man is when you stop observing yourself and starting BEING your SELF." I took observing yourself as self-realization, and being yourself as self-actualization. No more "oh i should have done this". More "I did this and that action is completely consistent with my character."
You have described me perfectly, we also see pictures in our imagination (minds eye) not just of what we can do but how we can do it. We also realise the world around us and how it is manipulated by higher powers (Politicians, Banks, Religion, Corporate and Media). Just be yourself, don't believe others just believe yourself. You Can. If you constantly remind yourself of the money going out of your Bank Account then who are you working for? the Tax Man, the Bank, the Corporate and the Media including social media and the ad telling you that you must have. Don't Do It. They have moved us away from "Need" (as our parents tought us) to "want" as they want us. Don't Do It.
Thank you for the high quality content that you are offering. I watched a lot of video of yours and this one, is that video that made me thankful for who I'm, I don't wanna go with "I'm realizing I'm self actualized" hhh but I believe I'm on the right path to explore the full potential I can be as a human being. Thank you for all the videos.
I'm so glad that I recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I've been enjoying your videos and sharing them with a few of my clients. I remember studying Maslow's theories decades ago., but had not planted the seeds of self-actualization into my mind. I've been on a journey of to become the person that I'm meant to be. An enlightening journey of self-awareness, fear, and thrill. Coming upon this video today was synchronicity because I had just felt the emotion of knowing where I was going and feeling excited about my future. Great information.
Simply amazing.. as a current 19 year old, all I have longed for was clarity around especially within myself. Ive felt though as if i was in a dark place for factors I was unaware of at the time. I am more happy being subscribed to you leo! please dont stop making these great videos. they really do make a change in others for the better.. its refreshing getting a realistic perspective
One of the most profound videos of yours after the one your are talking about increase of consciousness. This is the second must see you did. And thank you very much indeed for the advice of the book.
I didn't realise what or how I live my life so naturally, you actually have a name for it. Hahaha. But I love you more for it, thnx Leo. We Neva stop evolving and enriching ourselves within. Gratitude . Bless you.
I am 21 and I feel pointless. Maybe it looks like I'm doing nothing, for others but, there's a lot going inside my head. I feel like everyone has the qualities you mentioned but less here less there. I am creative in most stuffs which makes me confused what is worth as my career in life. I don't like socializing with stupid people especially my friends who act and fake a lot. I am trying to figure myself and I am not in hurry. Not being like what most other people are has made me unattractive and outcast. I don't expect from people but I love to help the world. I don't do anything that doesn't intrigue me
i think I read some where that Marslow said no one can reach self actualization and no one ever did....but I will stick with you Leo and so how far I can reach....
I just discovered your videos last night. You are incredible!! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with the rest of the world! You are so empowering & inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
I am a person that loves to thrive, I love to succeed. In a way I am a perfectionist in this habit which I always practice. Unfortunately, I do fail which makes me experience that human side of me which I am not so proud of because there are more faults than greatness, by the look of it through history. So, I decide to depart from that nature into the highest being that I can be. At times, I become stanchly and go back to my human ways. The problem that holds me back is failing and acknowledging that I am failing because it TARNISHES the being who I am. It is imperative for me to overcome that because I can give myself more to humanity and help it get to where it wants to go. My limitations which hold onto me and hold me back, human, does not allow me to fully unleash myself on this earth and show people who or what we are supposed to be like. How would you solve this problem? What would be the best way to do it in such away that you accept that so that you can eventually move over that human obstacle? Honestly, I am an over motivational person but I cannot tap into that resource that will allow me to just overcome that. I try to dig deep inside of me but I just cannot reach that spark that will just trigger the full real being in me that I know I AM. I would appreciate any vides or comments. Thanks.
Im just 16 and I really want to achieve something in my life. I know way to success comes with barriers Im really worried about my future because i cannot decide anything. Every day my mind changes what should I be? What Im going to do? Am I going to do something or not? These questions scares me to death. I DON'T KNOW , what to be ? I have seen many TED talks but still i cannot decide anything. I want to be the best version of myself! I know i'm going to do just fine but 'just fine' is not enough. I WANT TO DO THE BEST but I don't know how? I think most of the teenagers feels the same way.
Hi Leo, firstly i wanted to thank you for your amazing videos, i can´t even explain how thankfull i´m for the amazing stuff you put out, it helped me lot...a year ago i found out about you, and your videos realy helped me to get out of a tough time in my life, i even have become a self actualized person, i got out of suicidal depression and had almost every aspect a self actualized person should have.... but now i´m stuck, just a month ago, i drasticaly changed, for the worse, i wasn´t very conscious of it, untill now, and i´m scared as fuck, i realy don´t know what to do, i can´t help myself, i´m as bad as i was before, i fucked up realy hard, i had everything, and because of my stupidity i lost it, now i´m here crying, and begging you for help...please man i don´t know what to do, when i see you i envy you a bit, because you started out like i and wanted to be ideal and are getting forward and forward, but i failed miserably and have to start from zero again, but i´m scared that i can´t acomplish this, please my friend, i realy don´t know what to do. but i wanted you to know that you´re fantastic and that your videos realy help people in ways you can´t even imagine, keep up the good work Leo, i wish you the best of luck :)
A lecture like this, delineating the qualities of a self - actualized person, is very inspiring for me, but not very effective. Inspiration is never enough (though can be necessary). It all comes down to day to day applications - how to unpack and employ it. That is, finding SPECIFIC strategies of recognizing, developing and employing it. Otherwise these qualities remain a generalized list - an abstraction. That being said, these videos are good in the sense that they do "lead the horse to water." It's making the horse drink that requires individual, personalized skill. Skill because for me at least, I am going against ingrained patterns. Those patterns want to live at all costs (they're unbelievably hungry). To undo them, and implement positive change require almost the rigor of a scientist and more importantly perseverance and constancy.
binkyloo8 "Think Big" and have big goals - it's difficult to be motivated by mediocre goals. And be careful about what we define as "normal". As Maslow said: "What we call “normal” in psychology is really a psychopathology of the average, so undramatic and so widely spread that we don’t even notice it ordinarily”. I think you learn by taking action, as Emerson (anther one of my "heros") said: "There is a time in every man's education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried."
Manifestation and Law of Attraction is always demonstrated as materialization of physical things. Rather, we must see it as Attributes of Self. What does it make you? In a sense, You Create Yourself Through Your Creations.
Yeah, I've always been drawn to self-actualize, loooong before I read Maslow's work. It's just that reading his work crystalizes what it is that you're after. I love it! More people need to know that this is available to them. Most people simply don't know. Funny, I was just randomly watching a Maslow video tonight at dinner. Wow! That man was a genius and his ideas are still so little applied. Maslow was simply beautiful and profound. And thanks!
This was a great video! I'm in grad school right now for my masters in education and I came across this word, "self-actualization" in a book about the learner-centered teaching theory and I'm just so fascinated. I will be buying the book (Towards a Psychology of Being) by Maslow that you recommend. I am really interested in seeing how I can teach these principles to my students since there is a lack of ethics being taught in the public school system today (in the USA). Thanks again for sharing this video, it was very helpful and informative! - Elyse
What an awesome contribution you've made with these videos... I'm surprised there aren't more views on this one. It just flat out amazes how many people are afraid to leave the bottom 2, more materialistic levels of Maslows. Maybe it has to do with the instant gratification outlets people are hooked into and the incessant self-esteem beating that happens with the advertising tied to those outlets.
I have met two self-actualized masters in my life (Osho & Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev). But after hearing you I understood who they are! I was too skeptical about them before watching your videos :)
The list u went through abt actualization is definitely the stage where I am today. Thank God. Definitely looking more into Maslow now.. hmmm. Thank you for this. :)
This is my homework! I am actually ordered by my therapist to listen to Leo! Best homework ever!
Haha

Thanks Leo, I feel like I've grown a lot as a human being since watching your video's, keep helping people your good at it

I first encounter of this term self actualization, came when I was a freshman in college, and I took a course in Psychology and Religion.
The subject defined me in so many ways, that it intrigue me!
I realized, that I was like this from a very early age.
My religious upbringing with my
Parents and Family, had something to do with it.
In many ways polishing what I already felt and gravitated to.
I am one of eight children, being brought up and having many challenges as a youngster.

thankyou so much for these words, i understand you
What an amazing concept self actualization is.
Thank you for talking about it
Actualized will soon be my middle name.

Getting over yourself (ego) is truly eye opening. WE are Peace, Love, and Hope
If you follow your heart and not someone else's you can truly be happy.
Sweet! :)
A half year ago, I couldnt get the value of this concept. Now, my whole 24 hours are about it to never lose track of humanities potential (again)! 5:20-6:28
Thank You Leo!
I feel like artists, musicians, movie directors and people in the creative world are the people who are most commonly self-actualized
A lot of artists are highly dysfunctional though. Full of fears, self-doubt, existential angst, destructive habits, and money problems.
Actualized.org
Mainly I am referring to the really abstract ones who are confident enough in what they do that they are willing to create something that is subject to being judged, such as Mike Patton.
Actualized.org
I see what you mean. It doesn't always relate to self actualization. So do you associate with people who aren't self actualized?
6Mega6Man6 Self-actualization isn't some magical state you reach. It's an ideal. It's a big spectrum. I associate with all types of people, although of course I prefer those who are growth-oriented, and most of my friends are into self-help.
Id love it so much if you wrote a book xx
Booya Mazi Do you believe in having your own profile picture?
You are so great at explaining these complex type of concepts. Thank you for all of your research and work that you do, and for sharing it with us
My college psych understanding NEVER touched the simplicity you do instantly.
Not even sure I'll have a straight forward conclusion, but your content on manslow's theories have been really useful
i reached self actualization and it was the most blissful time of my life. i lost it but I'm working on getting back to the real me :-)
thank you sir
This has been me ever since I can remember, probably since birth, every single detail you give...
the way to change your life is to build credibility with yourself, say you are going to do something then follow up with what you said no matter what- start small then set your self harder and harder tasks
Leo, thank you! (: there are no languages, and words in those languages that can even minutely define the inspiration you have given me.
thank you once again!
leo is amazing.
This sent chills down my spine. You surely do contribute a lot to my daily self-growth. Thank you :)
This stuff benefit your life?
Thank you Leo. Your content has really added to my self development. I know I am not an actualized person myself. But my god do you have a way of making life feel like it is a magnicent playground that all of us should be playing on.
Thank you Leo I've been watching your videos for about a month now and I am already noticing a big difference in my confidence! I was starting my journey of enlightenment but was still very confused on a lot of things! I just want to say THANK YOU and I'm feeling very inspired and motivated!
I'm so intrigued but I can't stay focused for so long. my mind starts wandering and ohh wow look at that I'm writing this comment while the videos still going on x)
anthony parra same, adhd
This is so helpful, it's like I know this but somehow forgotten. You do a great job explaining everything. Love your channel and I recommend it to all my friends.
Your content is gold, dude. You're one of the people who inspired me to start my channel. Much love.
Really great. I found my higher self and higher motivation and that's what I needed to be free to be myself. I love being me. Thank you!
Very interesting and informative video
Thank you for all your work during these years 🌹🌹
Thank you for the high quality content that you are offering.
Love your work! Everyone needs to hear what you say to help our world achieve what they need to thrive working in their passion. Love ya man!!!
Your voice is just as powerful as the content that you’re talking about. I literally FEEL your energy THROUGH the phone.😲🗣💯
Mind Opiates. Still legal and free. Consume as much as you can...
I am so INSPIRED!!!! Thank you so much Leo!!!

Sweet! :D
Gratitude . Bless you.
I love the list from 06:28
to the end of the video...
Thanks, Leo ❤️
Very beautifully put together... Thanks a lot....
I don't do anything that doesn't intrigue me
So many times I said, 'That's me!'. Yet I am not financially independent just yet. That's what I have to work on.
This guy has courage to tell people what they don't want to hear.
Thank you for this! I've written the entire list down
Thanks Leo! You gave me what I was after. I saw myself through your indepth talk on self actualization.
i think I read some where that Marslow said no one can reach self actualization and no one ever did....but I will stick with you Leo and so how far I can reach....
Your excitement oozesss!
I keep coming back for more. thanks a lot for such wonderful videos.
I just discovered your videos last night. You are incredible!! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with the rest of the world! You are so empowering & inspiring
❤️❤️❤️
Excellent video...thank you Leo!
May God bless you!!! The best video I have ever watched about self- actualization
Awesome speaker ! Really important theme ! Loved it ! Leo your talent is inspiring!
Thanks.
Maslow just described me. Booooom. Your work is done Leo. 👍🏻. Hmmmmm well maybe he did. I need more time to meditate this
Im just 16 and I really want to achieve something in my life.
Leo, you are an amazing person.
This video is full of information and its really great. Thank you.
You are a very good person to take advice from
Manifestation and Law of Attraction is always demonstrated as materialization of physical things. Rather, we must see it as Attributes of Self. What does it make you? In a sense, You Create Yourself Through Your Creations.
Leo! I’ve not seen you for years. Life’s been hard but it’s good to see you lol.
Thank you Leo. I have benefited greatly and often from your videos. I truly appreciate you and am so grateful for your continued insights.
wow this is the first time i heard this idea and its really powerful
I am working up to self-actualization. I didnt know this term beforehand deciding to become like this.
btw you deserve more views
Yeah, I've always been drawn to self-actualize, loooong before I read Maslow's work. It's just that reading his work crystalizes what it is that you're after. I love it! More people need to know that this is available to them. Most people simply don't know.
Funny, I was just randomly watching a Maslow video tonight at dinner. Wow! That man was a genius and his ideas are still so little applied. Maslow was simply beautiful and profound.
And thanks!
Amen.
Thanks for helping me to be more self-assured.
So simple yet very inspiring, definitely going to read that book, thanks for another rad clip!
Thank you Leo!
Nice work , you are an inspiration
Great video! Well researched and delivered. Thank you!!
Psalms Pabico I think Maslow's book "Towards a Psychology of Being" is a good, short summary of this topic, a bit academic but still accessible.
Excellent video he explained it in detail in a basic way
