Thai Chef Turns FIREMAN, His Wok Skills are AMAZING!! (Best Places To Eat in Chiang Rai, Thailand)

- What does a restaurant look like when its Chef becomes a FIREMAN? Or wait, is it the other way around...? I might believe our new friend SomKit's story for either of these, but WOW is the food here AMAZING!
Li and I both would sit here for hours just watching this husband and wife team at work, but what I love even more is how humble and how friendly this entire family is! I love that we get to share this meal together today!! Thank you for joining us for today's video.
The style of food which Chef SomKit prefers is mainly Thai food, which means Central Thai food. As his family is from Koh Chang originally, his years as a chef in Bangkok would not have put too much pressure on him to change the way he likes to cook.
Up here in the North however, we get a treat today as I am SO in the mood for that perfect blend of Central-Thai, Chinese-influenced dishes featuring mega amounts of smoke from the high-heat wok pan, loads of fresh vegetables, and wonderfully sour soups full of fish.
This is a beautiful restaurant, and its location is also quite easy to find as well. Just a few km north of the east-west river which cuts through downtown Chiang Rai city, you will see the red sign with white lettering - "Som Kit Pochanaa."

I like your drone shots that reveal the construction of the temples, as an engineer it shows what it is behind the beautiful outside, I like seeing how things are made. As an engineer, I love creativity and food is one of those things that people don't realize they are actually engineering a plate of wonderfulness. The chef is a engineer of wonderful food, congrats to him in every way. I love mushrooms. I would fly there just for those.
Thai food is rich in herbs and it is very beneficial to eat.
I love this restaurant, I hope to go back again over New Years. Great place to visit in the cool season (Chiang Rai)

What a great find! You say you found it with (Google) Maps !? that's a really good way to find new places. The chef is amazing! That looks like a custom made stove too, never seen a stove with a back sink! I went to a place just because I saw big fire too! Lee Hua Hot plate at the bottom of Moo Muang Rd in Chiang Mai. Great dry plate Suki Yaki there and flames a meter high!
