Having to leave after clutching defeat from the jaws of victory is bad enough, but having to do it dressed like that.....brutal
I remember seeing this one at the time of broadcast and I immediately thought 'That's the worst negotiation I've ever seen on the show! No wonder Deborah ran for the hills. 😦
Probably the most 'in-tents' episode I've ever seen!!!
That is the worst counter-offer ever seen. They demonstrated having no business acumen at all, Deborah saw that and dodged a bullet there.
Nah that was good negotiation. I would've gone even further and said "yeah well now it's 1%"
This episode was one of the painful ones. They thought they were being clever. There was no need to even renegotiate.
You know a pitch will go bad when entrepreneurs offer 5% of their businesses
Not necessarily- there was a company that pitched for 1.5 percent and settled on 5 once
@@edward9643 True!
Very rare tho
I really liked these two and was cheering them on to get an offer.. until they insulted Deborah by asking her to go down to a mere 5% once she'd got the business profitable! Whatever were they thinking! I am not surprised Deborah pulled out! 🤦🏻♀️
Asking Deborah Meaden to go down to 5% when she got her money back was insulting.
Quite. You invest in a company because you are willing to take a risk and get a share of the profits commensurate with your investment. Why would an investor substantially cut their holding when it's giving a return?
It’s called negotiating, always try and get the best for you and yours
@Sam-qh1sh true, but it was Debra being generous an they basically said no first.
@@Sam-qh1shbut in negotiating, you still have to be realistic. When you go too low, the other person will simply walk away from the conversation altogether.
@@Sam-qh1sh: I don't think anyone would blame them for trying to get the best deal available but they was never going to get Deborah down to 5%.
I love the synergy between Sara and Deborah.
They really respect each other and seem to want the other to succeed.
What a disaster. The business has been operating for 5 years and hasn't made a profit, and a dragon gives you an offer for under 50% of that business? The fact they didn't take it on the spot just shows how absolutely clueless they are. How can your business be worth anything at all if it hasn't made a profit? They didn't even know what they were supposed to counter, which was not to counter at all. Now they own 100% of a terminated business instead of owning 75% of a profitable, successful business.
Fools, they could have had a very comfortable life with the Help of Deborah.
I would prefer 75% of something then 100% of nothing.
Greed lost em this one.
Dont think people realise how important a dragon could be
not greed just clueless in business
More like stupidity.
Happens many times on this show... they want 95% of the huge profits... but they won't get those huge profits without investment... so they want the investor to do all the work to make them huge profits but then give the investor next to nothing in return. 😕
"Shocked but not surprised" Peter? Lol
they could have done that deal a 20%, and everyone in the Den, and watching at home knows it. Drop down to 5%, insanity.
They probably would, although DM doesn't ever like to hear about reducing her percentage.
It was funny though how they mentioned in a post interview their ceiling was 10%, but still wanted to reduce the dragon to 5%.
@@scienceevolves4417 even if Deborah had said no them asking for 20%, I dont think she would have cancelled the deal.
The Dragons will either make a reasonable deal, or show understanding of the fact someones tried to make the deal. 5% or 10%, they got what they deserve.
I think the 25% with the same drop but to 20% when she got her money back would’ve been accepted. They really devalued her experience and what she’d bring to the table.
@@elvickRULESeven if it was not 20%, 5% is just an insult to Deboarh and what she has to offer
These people are delusional, imagine losing money every year previous, not knowing current losses in year and then saying no to an offer from someone who would skyrocket their businesses’ visibility even from an awareness perspective on the basis of a valuation calculation pulled out of thin air when final costs etc. haven’t even been worked out for upcoming festivals. They were so close yet so far lmao
💯💯💯💯💯💯
They came only for the advertisement.
@@ZazooEel57 Disagree, they seemed absolutely gutted and disheartened by the mistake they made.
@@ZazooEel57and they've made a terrible advertisement for themselves and their business
Reading some trip advisor reviews there’s some really scathing ones about refund polities and customer service issues. And after seeing this I kind of believe it all.
How can anyone running a company not know their balance sheet?
Lots of companies don't. It's a lot of voodoo magic in balance sheets. Particularly true for the service Industries because it's not like what when you sell widgets where you have a cost of goods sold and the price of good Souls oh, and your overheads and everything it's nice and simple. In a service industry, you're very often working cash accounting, Milestone doing, and your Revenue overtime looks like a Sawtooth. Traditional balance sheet it's not necessarily a reflection of what's actually going on
@@SiriusMined Yeah I agree. It's a snapshot of what the company owns and it's debts at the time
@@SiriusMinedyeah probably, but when asked that question one would still be expected to know a few details here and there, and not just say they don't know anything?
@@scienceevolves4417 I get your point, but it's ridiculous that people aren't allowed to bring that information with them.
When you partner with a dragon you don't just get the money. You get access to their contacts and experience. I don't think they realised that
They got a fantastic offer and then insulted the dragon.
If jenny was in this den she would write ✍️ im out on debbys broken arm 😂😂😊
Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory...... Maybe there is a scout badge he can put on his arm for that achievement!!!!!!
This time it wasnt a dragon who was too greedy
They showed they didn’t know how to negotiate properly, and their immaturity
Wow wasn’t expecting that 😮
Ouch. I felt that.
I would like to know one number: in average, for each entrepreneur created, how many people with the minimum paycheck are created to work for them?
I’ve been to camp wildfire… it’s actually amazing 😂 very expensive tho
Worth it?
Horrendous counter offer
Definitely. Asking an investor to give back 75% of their shares after a while… it’s insulting, it’s like “we’ll use you then you’re basically nothing to us”. Not a way to build relationships even though they didn’t mean it in a mean way
Deborah just brought down the hammer! Love that lady!
The music haha
Wow, they really blew it 😅
Unbelievable, such am insulting offer from these two. Do you prefer to own 100 % of a business that is not profitable profitable 75 % and possibly a millionaire I'm short order. They totally bottled it
They could very easily have pitched her 15% then found a middle ground at 17.5/20% which I'm sure she'd have agreed on. Any idea if they're successful following the show?
feel a bit sorry for the couple but they really pushed a bit far & didn’t even know it . That’s what got Debs hackles up, the naivety
I’ve never seen a dragon withdraw their offer. Wow they REALLY messed up
They have done in the past. Deborah in the “remote workload” or “remote management” video, and whenever they feel like the entrepreneurs are prioritising another dragon
Camp Wildfire still operating....sometimes sold out.
Do they have a dogging activity?
I heard they do. Im going to one soon and can't wait to "fire one off" from behind a hedge.
Should have Snapped Deborah hand off. 5% is an insult to be honest
Why is Evan Davies either a whispering mouse or shouting into a megaphone on these uploads. Come on audio guys sort it out
Sound is awful.
Too naive. That's why Deborah pulled out ultimately. They have 0 business sense. It's a miracle they've even made it this far. Which isn't far. It hasn't even turned a profit yet.
Nicely ballsed that one lol funny how silly people look wearing what they had on once they muck it up
Bad move guys
Does anyone know how these kids are doing in 2023?
The company is still active but in May 2022 they were given notice of compulsory strike off the register which was lifted in June 2022, they're listed on Companies House under the name of "Adventure Camp Limited"
@@Ken-Pthanks for the intel lol. What does strike off mean though
It can just mean they're behind on filling their accounts, it doesn't mean it's not preforming well.
You two don't have the ability to make this business earn any money, don't you know at this moment, still don't like to share is your problem.
So this is what Chandler R.(TWD) is up too.
CARL?!
Did they run 2 events in 5 years?
Dopes you don’t have a business when you make no money
Too gready
Gready?
Griedea
Gready? Meady? Meaden!
@@Shrooms-up6sv
Jenny deal not to many
Yes, far too much gread.
No Gray Nevile, even.
They didnt have Deborah pegged
Glad Deborah withdrew. These 2 made total fools of themselves to be frank.
this was not an interesting pitch and yet they keep uploading it
the dragons don't like it when the entrepreneurs start acting like dragons too
You have to add value to do that.
Sorry but that BUSINESS is not Gona go anywhere when deb made them the offer I would jumped up with Yes they been running this for 5 years no money what was these two smoking that day ?
" that BUSINESS is not Gona go anywhere when deb made them the offer "
That makes no sense. Why would Deborah making them an offer make the business not go anywhere?
@@BenjaminGoose Put a full stop after "anywhere" and a capital W on "when" 😉😆
business is actually pretty successful now and occasionally sells out ...
Me and my friends he said
Take out my friends and it is me did something makes no sense
He cannot speak correct English
Not a partner for me
Agreed. He's talking gibberish.
Questionable business acumen.
'Wildfire', surely the name of a disasterous event?
Talk about Chuck your chance away, silly billies.
Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
More like never slap a gift horse in the mouth lol
Ethereum 💯👍
I would be more upset than her for their offering! It's the man who is unrealistic. The woman seems more balanced. I would not work with them.
Now their business is very successful and each year sells out well in advance
Bollox. This pair couldn't even organise glasto if their lives depended on it 😅
That does not mean they're making a profit, that means they sold tickets. There's no getting around the fact these 2 have zero business sense and made a critical error here.
Deborah gets her feelings hurt again
Or, the entrepreneurs were just really naive and poor negotiators
They will never make it, or I do not think so😊
Talk about effin urself up!!
Anyone getting Fyre vibes from this?
Why is Tuuka even there, he’s a dinosaur.
😂😂 Touker makes me laugh.. I like him! 😁
Peter had a stroke his face is gone
He had a stroke his face? what is that?
More like Botox lol
I hope the booking is refundable, because I don't trust them to provide a good service anymore. I'm out!
Deborah Medan is way too grumpy
You both messed up big time...
I withdrawl my offer because you negotiated.
Imagine taking a whole 20% of a company...
Is not for free you know. She would have made the company profit after making loss each year. Their loss.
