Yeah the black guy that was Free falling was new Jack he was quite the entertainer he recently passed away earlier this year
Im late, but there were rumors that the entire ECW lockeroom smelled of drugs ranging from cocaine to weed. Some ECW wrestlers are no longer around due to addiction development.
Okay.
Now ya gotta react to the following.
ECW - Tommy Dreamer vs Raven. (Whole feud, but the match is the one that ends in the loser being put on the cross).
XPW - New Jack vs Supreme - Scaffold Match.
FMW - Terry Funk vs Onita exploding ring match.
(FMW was the promotion in Japan that inspired ECW and later XPW).
And any AEW compilation you can find as well. (I recommend The Elite + Matt Hardy vs The Inner Circle - Stadium Stampede as the first match to react to).
so next is czw?
Hey guys I see the fire is blowing your mind but that’s nothing they have used explosives bats wrapped in barbwire and much more new jack the black guy diving from the second floor was brought up on charges for stabbing someone in the face with a fork over and over the other guy lied about his age and he was only 17 it’s called the mass transit Incident look it up it’s crazy
That Black guy was falling was New Jack He is most harcore wrestler ever and his theme song music was Nature Born Killaz Dr.Dre and Ice Cube
@Lord_Wolf_Dragon you're wrong in some ways, but I totally feel you, this guy was mentally crazy.. watch "dark side of the ring New Jack" if you can find the entire episode
New Jack was a bum
@Lord_Wolf_Dragon in every single one of his match he always jump from the auditorium and once he also got caught in fire
RIP New Jack
@@dreamshakejunya wtf are you talking about?
The rivalry between Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka was an underrated rivalry. They had some of the most brutal matches in wrestling history.
Their match for the title on TNN is still my favorite non-PPV wrestling match ever.
Rip Mike awesome
ECW had so much talent at one point. I'm so glad I was a fan back then. It was honestly something special.
The black guy free falling was New Jack, he was an ECW legend. He passed away not to long ago rest in power to the man. A lot of them are still alive and some of them even still wrestle to this day.
In one match, the wrestler called Sabu attempted a move involving barbed wire. As expected,it got stuck in him... And cut his arm WIDE open. Not only did he finish the match, he bandaged himself up mid-match and then stayed in character in the hospital; refusing to speak English.
He just wrapped duct tape around his arm not really bandaging it up
It was the barbed wire match with Terry Funk for the title. His arm was torn deep in the meat and he duct taped it back together. There was a somewhat brief pause follow by Funk delivering some unimpressive shots on a no selling Sabu. The part where Sabu wrapped the barbed wire around his midsection and delivered an arabian face busted to Funk was what ended the match. They were so tangled up in it that Sabu got the three count so the EMTs could cut them out of it, which wasn't supposed to happen
@JL85FW no definitely used duct tape. Fonzie his manager tried to give him some time by getting beat up by terry funk to give him time to wrap his arm with duct tape
@JL85FW No he did use glue but it was crazy glue and he actually did both. (Use glue and tape I mean)
That match was crazy!!!
Y’all have no idea. ECW was WILD in EVERY way and deserves to be an HBO show
Honestly a HBO ECW like show could be good. Especially since HBO would let them get away with a lot more.
Joey Styles elevates every moment in Ecw with his trademark screams and sighs of disbelief.
7:53, Sabu caught his bicep in the barbed wire on that and got a huge gash. Needed 100 stitches.....he just taped it up with athletic tape and kept going.
Danngggg that’s hardcore!! It looked painful
@@shanem4703 They never did a barb-wire match after that. It was too brutal.
@@dropkick0129 Paul Heyman said he didn’t book another one after that because “no one could ever top that… and I didn’t want anyone to try!”
😂❤️❤️❤️ EXACTLY……It was all real…..
That clip of him with the tape around his mouth was when he hit his mouth on a corner of a table in that match. He wrapped it with tape to keep it closed and kept on going and found out later he had a dislocated jaw.
ECW not for the faint hearted...especially New Jack..rest in power. Great video guys.
It was pretty intense watching haha!
@@YBMJETT New Jack was pretty intense, the dude was a bounty hunter in real life before wrestling. His body of work throughout the hardcore scene is pretty much known. he would be blacklisted by the major companies such as WWE and WCW and would never launch a career in them because how much extreme he is. But he would be a hardcore legend in the independent circuit. New Jack opponents were limited as well as he wouldn't like to preform with a lot of people, and should he is forced to preform with someone he hates, he would legit hurt that person especially if that person disrespect him like the infamous (mas transit incident) do your homework on it.
@@YBMJETT I could tell that's what make your reaction great, very passionate. Thx for sharing.
Oh EC f/n W is hardcore but wait until they discover CZW...😈🤣
Or a exploding barbwire deathmatch (not that sorry excuse that AEW attempted)
The African-American wrestler doing the high-spot jumps, was New Jack. For a while in the 1990s, he was in a tag-team with another African-American wrestler named Mustapha, and they called themselves, "The Gangstaz". They started out together in the Smoky Mountain Wrestling (SMW) promotion. The promos New Jack did with Jim Ross there are incredible, and surreal, at least they are to me. When Mustapha had to retire due to injuries, New Jack wrestled as a solo act. After the original ECW went bankrupt in early-2001, New Jack moved on to the Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) promotion, in Los Angeles, California. His greatest match there, and and the greatest match of his career, was his match against Vic Grimes in a "40-Foot Scaffold Match", which set a world record for height at the time. It was a violent, bloody match, but New Jack was victorious.
90s ECW shows were the greatest live events i ever experienced.
I agree ❤️
ECW was the most insane thing to happen in the 90s, it changed the entire wrestling landscape into what it is now. The average lifespan of a wrestler is 50. Most of these men are dead, and they’re are gods and legends in the wrestling community. As always RIP New Jack, Mike Awesome, Balls Mahoney and the countless others who gave their life to entertain for a hotdog, a handshake and the love of the fans. This is wrestling.
Well, the second most insane, fmw edges it out.
@@troychristensen4646 I’d Agree that XPW, FMW and CZW pulled far more dangerous stunts for sure. ECW happened to be on the pulse of the 90s. Music from Ice Cube and Alice In Chains; Pantera, The Sandman coming out to thunderous applause over Metallica.
ECW was amazing, one of the things that made the 90s such an exciting time for me. New Jack, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, not to mention Terry Funk, (who was like in his 50s by then, and was already a wrestling legend before this). I loved Raven's character back then, and his feud with The Sandman was epic. Brian Pillman's Loose Cannon gimmick was also of interest during this time.
For the record, that was indeed a very young Rey Mysterio in there, before anyone really knew him. I have his ECW match with Psychosis on a DVD, some random fan kept yelling out "Go Go Power Rangers!". It was ... interesting. Good match though. Also, you could check out Mick Foley, (as Cactus Jack), with his Cane Dewey promo. That one really shouldn't be missed.
As far as I know, Rob Van Damme is still around. The guy with the white sash was Sabu. He is just now retiring from wrestling. Sabu's late father was the original Shiek. The King of hard core wrestling. Actually they got even crazier when they wrestled in Japan.
I would actually set my alarm for 1 or even 2 a.m. to watch ECW on syndication at the time back in 1997-98!!!
Same here, Sunshine Network! 😂👍🏾
Same. Good times
The black wrestler taking the insane dives is called New Jack who sadly passed away recently.
He was legitimately one of the most dangerous guys inside and outside the ring if you got on his bad side.
Before he was in ECW he wrestled for a promotion called Smoky Mountain Wrestling based in Tennessee.
He cut a load of promos playing on the racial fears of the south. He would get on the mic and say stuff like "Louis Farrakhan for President" in front of crowds that probably had Klansmen in them.
He was truly dangerous and fearless.
RIP New Jack.
still won't compare to Haku tho
They were not called Extreme Championship Wrestling for nothing.
Extremely Crappy Wrestling
@@wereallscrewed9714 that's adorable, he can parrot jerry lawler. now do "puppies!!"
Sandman, the guy who took the ladder right to the forehead, is just one of the many colorful characters of ECW. Dude was a huge crowd favorite and whipped ass for the regular job working people
there wasn't a lot of OMG clips featuring the late great Axl Rotten.
The black guy that kept jumping off the balconies was "The Original Gangsta" New Jack who unfortunately passed away back in May of this year. ECW used to play his ring music throughout the duration of his matches.
ECW had a lot of fan favorites from New Jack, to The Sandman, Sabu, RVD, Taz, Mikey Whipwreck, Dreamer, Terry Funk
The black guy was New Jack, he recently passed this year Mid May.
New Jack loved the Wrestling Business but hated Vince and Company
In the barb wire match with Sabu he severly lacerated his bicep and wrapped up his wound and continued the match anyway. Guy is a beast.
I consider myself blessed to have gone to quite a few ECW shows when I was 15-18yrs old...The crowd was part of the show & I cannot describe the passion & energy ECW created. Still unmatched......Actually NJPW is really good...AEW is close but ECW was special
These wrestlers sometimes didn't get paid at all because the owner would often go over budget. And at least 28 ECW wrestlers -- some of whom are best known from other companies -- are dead now.
Not entirely the story. They went bankrupt being owed 4million dollars from a PPV company that refuse to pay.
The fire table is simple science. When the person is thrown onto it the gust of wind created usually will put the fire out.
Sadly many ECW performers have passed away. Most from drug overdoses. Many of the ones still alive are in poor physical shape due to the trauma caused by wrestling a hardcore style. This style of wrestling is rare today.
When Tazz suplexed Sabu backwards thru the table....and Staci said "oh he went headfirst"..........Tazz actually broke Sabu's neck with that move. Sabu was out for quite a few months after that.
The 90s was a Masterpiece of a Decade 🙌🏽👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️…..This is Violence at its Peak
ever watched Japan Hardcore matches from 90s?
"I don't know what that was!"
THAT! WAS _EXTREEEEEEEEEME!_
And BTW, the match where one guy gets crotched on the barbed wire? That was Terry Funk vs. Sabu from 1997. The match that made ECW swear off barbed wire matches for the rest of their existence.
"How much did they get paid to do that!"
SO, Paul Heyman ran ECW and he is a creative genius, but ECW is gone now, because he routinely neglected things like PAYING the on screen talent.
ECW was awesome. The girl is Francine she broke her pelvis and never missed a day of work. Check out Beluah vs Alfonso. Women were just as tough as men.
ECW was the best back in the day..
The 90s, most extreme decade ever!
RIP Mike Awesome! Those awesome bombs were legendary!
Probably was Rey. Rey Mysterio Jr, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit had been in ECW right before going to WCW.
I think that was Juventud Guerrera.
@@marcatkinson4149 Actually, it was Rey against Phycosis, They brought their feud from Mexico to ECW and tore the roof off the joint.
Perry Saturn, Raven, 2 Cold Scorpio, Stevie Richards, an Dean Malenko as well
@@trylbear9625 I remember seeing 2 Cold in WCW first. Dean was part of the first bunch then some some more a few years later. I remember Raven in all of them under different names as well as GWF.
She said "How much do you get paid to do that???"
Well, in 2000, unless you're RVD....nothing really 🤣
1 of a kind
You can thank Paul E. for that one... Lol
@@JB-xh5mc Yup...He's a genius- at hustling.
And that's Professional Wrestling bayBEEEEE!!!!
1. RVD (Self explanatory)
2. Sabu
3. New Jack ( Rest in Peace) he was fearless, took the biggest jumps etc.
4. Terry Funk
5. This spot could be several people. I'll leave it open.
"This looks like chaos" That is ECW in nutshell was always my favorite of the 3 when there were 3.
My favorite ecw wrestler was sandman because he'd bash his own head open with a beer can before every match dude was legit crazy XD
The Extreme Icon! ✊🏾
He was such a terrible in ring wrestler though, half because he was never trained properly and half because he really was drunk and on drugs in most matches. But yeah, his gimmick and entrance was always awesome.
@@lucydog3376 yep as long as he had a kindo stick in hand he was great lmfao
Rest In Peace/Rest In Paradise/Rest In Power brotha New Jack the ECW Orignal, the Wrestling Hardcore Champion of All Time.
Unfortunately many of the stars from this time period (not just ECW) are no longer with us due to drugs, suicide, or whatever. Guys like Mike Awesome, Balls Mahoney, Rocco Rock, Johnny Grunge, Axl Rotten, and New Jack, to name a few, have since passed.
E C Dub! Can you believe this use to be a weekly show? Miss those days.
the thing i liked about ECW was they could all actually wrestle it made the other stuff better
Well ECW do stand for Extreme Championship Wrestling so of course it’s gonna be a bit crazy.
However I would say they ain’t got shit on CZW, GCW and some of the 90s/2000s Japanese death-matches.
And fmw
Except for the Mass Transit incident, where New Jack got legit brain damage.
@@marcatkinson4149 Mass Transit was the guy that New Jack bladed too deep. Vic Grimes was the one to blame for the brain damage.
@@marcatkinson4149 no, you must be thinking about the Danbury free fall.
ECW walked, so CZW/GCW could run.
R.I.P. NEW JACK, R.I.P. ROCKO ROCK, R.I.P. CHRIS CANDIDO, R.I.P. MIKE AWESOME…….YA’LL NEED TO REACT TO MORE ECW VIDEOS. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
You can easily watch 'The Rise & Fall of ECW' to follow up on wrestlers who was relivent at the time.
I have all the original ecw dvds the rise and fall of ecw. bloodsport ecw bloodiest matches and another vol. they were the most wrestling hardcore promotion in America
Upload them! Let’s react together
i'm glad i got to see the original ECW in 97 I was only 12 in Hamburg Pa!!!
Yes, that was Rey Mysterio (also known as Rey Mysterio Jr., Mysterio Sr. was his uncle) and ECW was one of or the first wrestling company he wrestled for when he first made his debut in the U.S. Then he was in WCW, WWE, Lucha Underground & now in WWE again.
There was chants of "WE WANT FIRE" back then. This was mainly back in the VHS tape days. But philly fans are no joke.
Welcome to the family 👪 They say that once you go hardcore, you don't go back. Welcome to ECFN'W, you will love 💘 it ❤ 😄
Yo if it wasn't for ECW we wouldn't have had the Attitude Era or the Ruthless Agression Era
Mick Foley was Cactus Jack in ECW! He was the guy in the Cactus tights and also in another video wearing what looked like leopard print tights. The guy in the tie dye is Spike Dudley!
YES. So excited to watch this! 🔥
I used to watch ECW every Saturday night from 7 pm til 10 pm it was f'n awesome
Love those Mike Awesome/ Masato Tanaka matches...hard hitting big boy beef slappin.' Love me some Spike, Raven, RVD and Jerry Lynn. For more fire mayhem etc-check out FMW..
Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Jericho, Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio and Steve Austin are my favorite ECW alums
3:12 the most beautiful reactions I've seen to ECW lol
ECW was a Low Budget Wrestling company that took everything to the next level..... mad Respect for them especially a dude named New Jack RIP 🕊️
ECW originated during a time when wrestling was all cartoon characters and kicking and punching nonsense. I think they took it a bit too far, but the concept was pretty awesome at the time.
The guy who y’all referring to is New Jack, you have to check out his outrageous moments
Of the ECW wrestlers in this video, I think only a couple have passed on (New Jack [one half of the Gangstas, the guy with the shaved head diving off ledges], Mike Awesome [the guy who keeps tossing people through tables from inside the ring], Rocco Roc [the guy with short hair and a goatee/beard dressed in black, one half of the tag-team Public Enemy], Bam Bam Bigelow [the big guy with flames tattooed on his head]).
Some of them have transitioned to office work (the Dudley Boys [the 3 guys in yellow/orange and blue tie-dye], Mick Foley [long black hair and beard], Taz [the guy in orange and black],
Others are still active in the ring to this day (Rob Van Dam [long hair in a ponytail], Psychosis [the masked guy], Sabu [in the middle-eastern Sheik style gear]. Tommy Dreamer [guy with medium length black hair and goatee/beard dressed in black gear], Sandman [blonde guy in American flag gear], Mikey Whipwreck [blue tie-dye shirt], Little Guido [average looking guy in the medium blue gear], Rhyno [the guy spearing everyone through tables], Masato Tanaka [the big Japanese guy]).
None of the ones, who died, died from ring accidents or such. Mike Awesome died of suicide, Rocco Roc and New Jack from Heart Attacks and Bam Bam Bigelow from a drug overdose.
Mike "Awesome" Alfonso aka the big dude slamming the smaller dude(Little Spike Dudley) around and who went through the table then hit his head on the cement floor, died by suicide a few years ago and the guy who was doing all the balcony dives is the late Jerome Young aka New Jack , the rest of them have brain damage and other issues with their bodies since doing all that madness and yes that WAS Rey Misterio jr in the clips taking on Psychosis
Aye watch the Heatwave incident of 99 where Bubba and Devon were going savage on the mic in front of the ppl. Literally died from laughter cuz it was savage but crazy🤣🤣🤣🤣
ECW had "Riots, Fire & Bloodshed" before it was the trendy thing to do..
;)
R.I.P new jack literally a legend
"dippin people in fire" had me dying 😂
To answer a few of your questions. Free fall guy was New Jack, they didn't get paid cause Paul Heyman's (the owner) checks bounced, and they used fire cause they just didn't give a damn.
The black guy who "was flying" is none other than New Jack (RIP) The most hardcore wrestler ever.
Awesome video guys you guys are amazing
The one clip I wish they put in these compilations was the time when they threw Spike Dudley into the crowd and the crowd body surfed Spike back into the ring
Please react to more. They also had a good hand of technical and high flying wrestlers like Benoit, Mysterio, Guerrero, Hayabusa, Malenko, Juventud Gerrera, etc.
ECW was the show back then it was great
ECW was nuts back in the day. It was the candle that burned twice as bright. They ran out of money and we’re purchased by WWE. During the Attitude era. It was the brainchild of Paul Heyman, still one of the greatest minds in entertainment.
The guy that jumps off highest parts of the arena was New Jack (RIP). Check out a compilation about him, there's a few on RUclips, dude was legit insane
Went to one show at the Elks Lodge in Queens. Craziest wrestling show I ever went to. It was AMAZING
When they had the barbed wire as the ropes that was Sabu vs Terry Funk 2 hardcore legends. In that match Sabu cut open his arm by his bicep with that move in the corner, the muscle was falling out so he used finger tape to wrap his arm that’s why I’m the 3rd clip with funk on the table he has the white tape around his arm
i love the table spots
Finally...ECW!
When you guys upload it makes us ten times better
The guy who went through the table (Spike Dudley) actually had 6 months where he didn’t get paid at all. With Paul Heyman, sometimes they didn’t get paid.
Imagine watching this every week, I did back in the day
This ECW is tame compared to CZW and other hard-core promotions.
The E in ECW stands for Extreme.
The scaffold one, New Jack was LITERALLY trying to kill his opponent as payback from another match prior.
They did do Barbwire rope matches.
Justin, iif you choose to watch CZW or other similar ones, it's best to do a solo reaction video as I see it's not Stacy's favorite style.
But some passed away do to drug issues. Some are still competing....
The scaffold match was Tommy Dreamer and Brian Lee. The match that you're thinking of with New Jack was from another promotion entirely.
Blah. ECW any day.
I've been watching y'all channel now for over a month now! Love It, Love It, Love It!!!!!!! Y'all Rock!!!!! Also, I've been a wrestling fan, *hocktooie to sports entertainment, lol* for well over 30 years!!!!!!!
I went to a live show back in the day, it is an extreme experience!
It wasn't called Extreme Championship Wrestling for show. Sabu (the guy jumping off chairs into guys) is crazy AF! His body is covered in scars from all those barbed wire watches. I remember one time he punctured an artery on his bicep and he just asked his manager for some tape, wrapped it up and kept going with the match! 😂
It's unfortunate but a lot of these wrestlers have passed away not many of them lived to see 40
The freefallin guy was D"von Dudley from there Dudley Boyz. My favorite ECW wrestler was Sabu. That's the guy in the shiny green pant flying off the ropes.
That was New Jack and the Dudleys didn't use the z til they went to what was WWF at the time.
@@randallw1977 👍🏽
3:58 is just great :D
Like him???? We freaking loved New Jack ( RIP)!! 😂😂. Anyone that has anything I'll to say about him they voice their opinion on every video that he's in😂. To answer your questions sadly at least 60% of the original roster aren't with us anymore. Rob Van Dam was my favorite.
Yes that was Rey Mysterio...if you do fire right, you won't get burned. New Jack is the legend free falling on mah fuckas.
Sadly half of the people in the video have passed away, RIP New Jack.
You oughta see the "Taipei Deathmatch" between Ian Rotten vs. Axl Rotten. One of the bloodiest matches in ECW History. 🐻👍🏾
The 90s were raw and uncut you had gangsta rap, Beavis and Butthead, talk show dramas, and EC FN W.
Fire is the signature of mick foley. A lot his matches he goes through something on fire or someone else. Either way the fire isn’t really hot enough to do real damage. It’s based on that stage pyro stuff from concerts where it burns a certain temperature for only a certain amount of time. The flame is impressive but not threatening as you can stick your hand inside without getting burned. Any spots using lighter fluid is actually the liquid form of this. You burn it but it doesn’t actually burn a person. The wrestlers act burned but it’s usually fine.
The one with sabu in the barbed wire, it tore his skin so much you could see the meat in is arm. Sabu taped it up and finished the match.
my friend and i went to see them at some veterans hall right after a blizzard and mick friggin' foley was walking around outside selling tshirts. 3 years later he was headlining wrestlemania. another time, stevie richards was hanging upside down with blood dripping from his head. there ended up being a pool, a fucking POOL of blood in the ring. that was just normal shit for ecw. yo always went home with no voice from screaming we want blood all night.
ECW only used mats around the ring when they did shows in New York state. Joey Styles would mention on commentary at these shows that they HAD to put mats around the ring per state law. Otherwise there were no mats.
New Jack was the man jumping off the balconies. Check out Vice Dark Side of the Ring New Jack episode.
ECW was the original hardcore...period. Forgot what you heard. This guys...and girls really put their bodies in harms way.
If they do CZW I'm pretty sure a head would explode
