Saving potatoes in the freezer like how you showed is a great idea.

Great advice. I love potatoes and sweet potatoes. They can really fill your belly for little cost

It’s true they are a good staple to have around. I use potatoes quite often

I have a room with a concrete floor that I only heat enough in the winter to keep pipes from freezing. I store potatoes in a milk crate lined with newspaper and keep them for a month or two. But you definitely have to keep checking them as one rotten potato can ruin them all .

I grow potatoes in my garden. Then I store them in the root cellar. They store well throughout the winter and well into spring. They usually start getting big sprouts on them about spring garden season. So it works out that I can then use them for seed potatoes.

My Grandmother had a root cellar. She stored a lot of her vegetables in it. Today very few ppl have cellars. Where I live you can’t put cellars. So storing vegetables long term is a challenge.
