the theatrical cut is good, but the director's cut makes it much better. I love how they move some scenes around and it make the movie flow better. the punisher game is amazing! if you watch the director's cut it shows that his partner, the black agent was the one that sold him out and gave them all that info on him. it wasn't a parking lot; it was a car dealership.
The extended cut adds some much needed context with Jimmy Weeks, his best friend/co-worker being the one who rats him out. There's extra scenes adding more to their friendship and Frank ends up going after him, as well as the original opening in a motion comic style with art from Tim Bradstreet. Shame that that cut isn't very widely available. I don't think it's on streaming or to buy anywhere except for the DVD of it. It's not even on Blu-ray (though the majority of the scens that were put back in were also on the original DVD), but it's worth checking out for a more "complete" experience.
The soundtrack was really good….Jerry Cantrell (of Alice In Chains) plays on it….at the time Dimebag Darrell & Vinnie Paul from Pantera formed a new band called Damageplan and has a track on the soundtrack.
I have to make a note about the part with Howard's wife being thrown in front of a train. I think in the original script, Olivia was taken to a rough neighborhood. Maybe where she grew up? I am not sure. How I know is that particular scene was in both the novelization and the comic adaptation. Yes, I own them.
I really enjoyed all three versions of The Punisher films. The Punisher is one of my favorite Marvel characters my other two favorites is Deadpool & Hawkeye. I have the SE of the DVD that has the illustrated/animated beginning that started in the Gulf War.
Lets not forget in current comics continuity franks wife was about to divorce him anyway before his soul got kidnapped by a demon and he changed his logo 😂
Yes. Idiots have ruined the logo for fans. Punisher is my favorite Marvel character, and I have several comic tattoos; I am glad I never got the skull.
People might not say it’s Punisher-y enough, but I think I the scene where he rigs up a mine and plops it into the second son’s outstretched hand and leaving him there to inevitably blow up is 👌 I enjoy both Jane and Bernthal’s takes on him. Hope multiverse shenanigans will let them meet up and kick some ass together

I really need to check out the Director's Cut sometime. I LOVED the game as a kid, really wish they would do a remaster or remake at some point.
The short spin off was incredible and just shows that his still got it and could easily be the punisher again!!!
Agreed

Thomas Jane is the Definitive Punisher and the movie is the best Punisher movie ever.
Would have been funny, making Tony give up the host chair for this episode lol.
But hes too famous
Would Larry King give up his chair? Or Jimmy Fallon for the young folk. You said it yourself, the King never gives up his throne!!!
Will Patton was awesome in an underrated UFO film "the fourth kind".

I really need to rewatch this movie. I remember Travolta being a good bad guy. Clearly, i was wrong. 🤣
I prefer John Bernthal's version of frank myself. Nothing compares to him imo. He's perfectly cast, just like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil
@@kdusel1991 Bernthal is great as Castle. Jane will always be my favorite.
@@DissectThatFilm what are your opinions on Warzone?
@@kdusel1991 I've actually never seen Warzone.
@@kdusel1991 war zone is the goofiest punisher movie but Stevenson is by far the best punisher.
The Punisher is Very Amazing A Classic Film
this was actually one of my favorite soundtracks ever just reminded me talking about the Hitman that sings the song
Dolph not having the skull shirt was a costuming mistake, met Dolph, while wearing a Punisher shirt
That's awesome!
but his knives have skulls on them.
@dwayneelizondomountaindewh6073 yes, but he definitely was supposed to have the shirt,
I love the punisher 2005 game also.
The game is awesome! Really hope they do a remaster or remake at some point in the future.

I only can remember what Tony always say "bros before...." Ain't that right Tony
The partner the one that talks to him about the spread is the one that turns face on Castle.
We had those exact paper cutters in my high school and I always thought of that scene everytime I saw them
This is an incredibly underrated and under appreciated movie ❤ I love it!!
I was surprised with how much I enjoyed it after all these years! Thanks for watching!
@@CinemaTripReviews it's generally better then people think it is! This is my favourite version of the punisher 🥰 and your welcome i love the show ❤
Lets not forget in current comics continuity franks wife was about to divorce him anyway before his soul got kidnapped by a demon and he changed his logo 😂
oh wow! Punisher comics have really changed since back in the day 😂
Marvel ended up getting the punisher Rights from Lion Gates after warzone
I enjoyed asking Will Patton if he needed help with some underpants ;)
Dolph lundgren punisher next
Kill the irishman is a cool ass movie. I highly recommend it.
I definitely have to check that one out!
i have this skull ink on my body
Pop Quiz: What are the other pre-MCU movies where the superhero’s logo appears in flames?
Ghost Rider!
Danger Demon!
The Crow, Daredevil ('03), this, and The Dark Knight Rises.
@@circular_entropy3455 forgot about the '03 Daredevil!
I went to this movie twice in Theaters. I also love the game. I enjoy the Dolph Punisher movie, but I freaking HATE Punisher Warzone.
Really enjoyed this episode( as a first time viewer) and will definitely subscribe to your channel!
Thanks for watching!
So now punisher is a blonde Irish guy whose s.h.i.e.l.d armor vaguely resembles a skull. Ok then.
I like John Bernthal's version. He absolutely kills it
Yes. Idiots have ruined the logo for fans. Punisher is my favorite Marvel character, and I have several comic tattoos; I am glad I never got the skull.
Holy shit Tony from the hack the movies
How the hell is this movie 20 years old???
Also, Tony, how is this not an example of pasta-face? Tom Jane is not Italian!
Fun fact bros you don't need a passport to go to Puerto Rico since it is a US territory .
I like this movie minus its flaws,i still perfer warzone which i thinks is a pretty awesome movie

I doubt they'll bring back Jane as while he's decent, Bernthal is just leagues better.
@@kdusel1991 dude stop! he's the worst ever!
Oh, featuring Tony from hack the movies? In that case, DO NOT RECOMMEND CHANNEL!!!
Otto Krieg
Eh I still prefer John Bernthal as Frank.
worst punisher ever!
