So Nicole I assume that you and your bf just got some non-prescription glasses off of a rack somewhere? It seems nearly everyone is wanting to wear glasses for fashion sake these days. I'm a retired optician and a number of years ago I fitted a number of young ladies with non-prescription glasses for various reasons, but none just as a fashion accessory. These were all mostly professional women that wanted to be taken more seriously in their careers. I had several teachers just starting out, a flight attendant, and several attorney's and para legals get glasses. Some even came back a couple years later needing prescription glasses. Their non-prescription glasses cost the same as prescription glasses but for the ones that came back needing prescription glasses it was actually much cheaper because then their insurance paid the biggest part of their glasses. But once all the boutiques started selling "fake" glasses we lost most all of that business.
You both look really nice wearing glasses but you seem to enjoy wearing yours even more than your bf. Since glasses are such a good look on you, you should consider getting your eyes checked to see if you might need glasses. I can even give you a secret about how you can get prescribed glasses even if your eyes are perfect. I watched a number of young ladies think they were going to fake not being able to see the eyechart and get prescribed glasses. Trust me even the worse optometrist in the world will very quickly make anyone look really foolish by finding out they were faking the exam. All they would have needed to do is when filling out the necessary paperwork before getting their eyes examined would have been to claim that that the reason they were getting their eyes examined was because they were noticing a that they weren't able ot see as well as they always had been when driving at night. Then they would simply do the eye exam as well as they possibly could. Even if they had perfect 20/20 vision the doctor would still push the "phoropter" in front of their eyes and do a refracton on them without them even knowing it. He would ask them to re read the bottom few lines of the eyechart to make sure they were seeing perfectly and then write them a prescription for glasses. The prescription would be a very very weak distance prescription and they would be told to wear their glasses when driving at night and any other time they felt like they needed to wear them. The prescription they give is so weak it won't do any harm to their eyes or your eyes. The advantage of being prescribed glasses is that your insurance would pay for your glasses and you would be able to sit down and try as many frames as you wished to. Now another way would be to simply go on line and order a pair f glasses from Zenni Optical (zennioptical.com) for as little as $6.95. If I were you I would still order them with the same prescription that you would get from a local optometrist. That would be a -.50 SPH in both eyes and leave the CYL and axis spaces blank. This way you would have real glasses, that would be harmless to you, but real enough that you won't feel silly admitting that your glasses don't have prescription.
But you really should at least go and get your eyes examined to see if you might really benefit from glasses. You might be surprised to know that in a study last year done by a major university they found that 74% of the population now either wears glasses, contacts, or they have had lasik. The same university did the same study bak in 2008 and at that time the percentage was 62%. That's a huge increase in just 10 years time. Ophthalmologist and optometrists are in agreement that the main reason for such an increase is the over exposure of nearly everyone's eyes to all of the various screen devices we now have. They expect the number to continue to increase even more during the next 10 years. So currently if you don't need glasses you're in a rather small minority.

Hi, yes we both got our eyes tested. We didn't pick these of a shelf just for the "look" of it...haha. These are real glasses that are prescribed. That cost us a lot of money. Please don't just assume things...
If you watch my other videos you will see that I don't wear mine that much because I don't like wearing glasses. So I'm not wearing them for the looks. As Dylan has to wear them all the time and does so (as shown in other videos).
Thanks I guess for taking the time to write a big essay...
      Thank you!

@@madebynicolezan Thanks for replying. I'm sorry that I assumed the glasses you got were non-prescription. You know what they say about people that assume things and it sure looks as if I did exactly that. Having been an optician i'm well aware of the cost of prescription glasses from local optical stores. I loved my job as an optician but hated telling people how much their glasses were going to cost them. I'm sure in some cases a patient had to decide between getting their glasses or eating for the next week or so. If you take anything away from my "essay" haha I do hope that you and Dylan check out the Zenni Optical site I mentioned. I don't in anyway get any form of compensation from them but they are a very good place to get your glasses from and even though you both recently got your glasses you both might enjoy having prescription sunglasses on sunny days. You can get prescription sunglasses for a total of $12.00, plus $5.00 shipping. Hundreds for under $18.00. If you watch cable TV you might see them advertised their. Have a great day. And again sorry for my assumption that was off base and wrong.
