Really? This comic is like 2 years old and this channel already did a review of this same exact story a year ago. Idk why he's doing this again. Maybe hes running out of content. Slow month for star wars.
The Crystal showed him that he still had good within him, just as Padme and then later his own son would say. And ultimately proved them both right in the end.
What Vader/Anakin SHOULD have said was this: "You have failed, your majesty. I am a Jedi, as I was once before." You know, to mirror Luke in Return of the Jedi.
Imagine Anakin actually turning back to the light side, mastering both sides of the force and fufilling his destiny as the chosen one. Maybe unite all sith and jedi and forming a new order, protecting the galaxy of whoever would stand against it. Grand Master Anakin Skywalker..... Am I going too far?🤣🤣🤣
I would love to see a non cannon TV show that's a version of starwars where anikin did indeed choose the light in this instance and went on to be one of the greatest jedi ever know along side his son
I think that's one of the points of the vision. It makes you wish things had turned out that way but it wasn't possible for Vader at the time. Only Luke could turn him back to the lightside.
Palpatine, while arrogant, isn't that careless. Remember he designed his suit to be very weak against lightning. Not to mention I'm sure he had a remote kill-switch for Vader's suit as well. Plus there's the possibility his aura would have been detected long ago.
"ruling with an iron fist, literally" good to know some people can still use that word correctly. Even though his metal hand probably isnt iron, I'll count it as correct XD
I would assume it’s made of durasteel, so there should be some iron content in his hand. (That’s if durasteel is made of iron and carbon like normal steel)
Anakin/Vader has such an interesting personality. It’s like two personalities fighting for control over his body but the dark side was too strong in him
Honestly this makes more sense than the canon, I just re-watched Episode III and Palpatine lied to Anakin TO HIS FACE about everything and manipulated him BLATANTLY. If Anakin took even a moment to think back on everything Palpatine said to him and promised him, he'd see that Palpatine made false promises, accused the Jedi of potting things that HE was plotting, and turned Anakin into his obedient slave. The only realistic outcome of this would've been Anakin immediately trying to kill Palpatine when he awoke from that surgery, fueled by nothing but anger towards the lying old ballsack. I doubt he would've actually turned back to the Light Side, but I see no reason for him to not hate Palpatine with every fiber of his being and want to kill him ASAP for screwing Anakin over.
Well, the thing to notice is that Palpatine is a master at manipulating people. He had a silver tongue and was able to convince millions to do his bidding. It's no surprise Anakin, whom was full of a swirl of emotions at almost all times and he had befriended, didn't see it. He didn't WANT to see it. Anakin only saw Palpatine as good.
Vader wasn’t powerful enough to kill Palpatine. Palps designed the suit so that he could never reach his full potential and thus overthrow him. Vader had to wait for an opportune moment to strike
@@justineharper3346 yes, but if he get to the light side if the force. He can use the force so he can fix the errors in his sout, the light side are able to build and improve stuff, with the dark side is about anger and destruction
Analin has always been a volatile emotional wreck. And then the jedi left his mother a slave and assigned him to a guy who was just recently a padawan himself. Excellent decisions.
If Vader’s trial was about conviction to his cause, it makes me think that the force vision he received was Dark Side in nature (providing him an “easy way out” in order to test his conviction)
The vision showed Vader how easy and simple it would have been to choose the light and correct his path, why did he refuse and go back to the dark? It’s infuriating. Everything could have been better if he went down the path of the Jedi.
He had already commited Genocide against the Jedi, his body was mangled almost beyond repair, and he had lost everything and everyone he ever cared about. He was simply in too deep to go back at that point.
@@ChaoticTeen16 At least until his son and daughter showed up. If he had known about them from the beginning he probably would have left the dark and returned to the light.
First off....the disrespect on Palaptines name. That mofo would have destroyed darth Vader with ease. He would just lightning and it would be over. Remember even at Vader’s prime he was only 80% as strong as palp. That vision was nice but realistically Vader wasn’t going to get out of there alive. He would have needed to find obi or yoda to even think of fighting palp. Then second off I agree with the other comments, it would have made all his sacrifices for naught. Everything he did was to save Padme who died anyway so now in his mind he justifies it all to become powerful in the darkside of the force. Otherwise, he caused destruction for nothing and if the Jedi got back control, he would have to 100% answer for his crimes.
The deleted scene where Anakin says ‘help me’ to obi wan on mustafar would change the ending narrative so much for me. Vader finding obi and obi disengaging his saber seems unlikely in that timeline. He wanted Vader to die for his decisions
I really wish we could get a full on, albeit probably a "What if" story line of Vader turning good once more. Sure this already delved into slightly but it'd just be fun to see even more. How the universe would shape and characters react.
You have to keep in mind that Anakin absolutely _HATES_ himself. Everything he did under the influence of the Dark Side, he sees as 100% his fault. He believes the eternal torment as Darth Vader (the suit/robotics are ill-fitting and cheaply made so as to cause as much discomfort as possible. Both to strengthen his connection to the Dark Side, and to weaken his physical capabilities so he's unable to properly challenge the Emperor) is well deserved. He has chosen his path, and to stray from it would mean all the death and pain he caused to be in vain.
@@bladeprincess that and also has its weaknesses too palpatine designed his suit to be weak to lightning something palpatine was good at so he could never overthrow palpatine it's even confirmed that vader can't reach his Max potential cause of the suit and causes him pain
This bleeding crystals thing in the new canon is weird. I always thought it was red because the sith didn't know where to find natural kyber crystals so they used artificial ones
While there's a lot of damage new canon has done, a lot of good that was swept away, I like this change. It does a lot to underscore who the Sith are and their perspective on the force. They view it as something to be enslaved to their will, and their process of creating red lightsabers makes perfect sense in that regard. Does it sound cheesey relative to the former explanation, this idea of making a crystal bleed? Sure, I suppose it can, but those crystals are conduits for the LIVING force, and keeping that in mind the Sith process is essentially doing harm to that greater entity.
It's pretty metal. Like how Vader killed a light side opponent and taking his sentient crystal as a trophy. Then forcing that stolen sentient crystal to bend to one's entire anger, hatred, and suffering to turn its appearance to a crimson blood red color. I like this change.
In the original Star Wars concept the color of a lightsaber reflected the wielder's alignment to the force. Normal people had white sabers, jedi had blue sabers, and sith had red sabers. Synthetic crystals came about in Legends and were never how Lucas envisioned saber colors being explained.
@@cristian-ionutapostol8018 at no point do normal people have light sabers. To even use one you had to be force sensitive. White lightsabers have also always been rare, usually only Jedi masters could use one. Also if this was at any point true then any of the several times lightsabers changed hands so would the color but it always stayed one color until the whole purify/bleeding thing was introduced. And even then it wasn't something that ever happened in a way a reader/viewer could see(likely because it isn't easy and takes time).
@@UnitedGaming420 the color of a saber does come from how they are aligned to the force and changing sabers wouldn't change the color because its embedded into the crystal

I think vader/anakin would've been stronger if he turned to the light again. The anger against his master, himself, the will to do right by padme and putting everything to hold the hope of redemption would give him more power and connection to the force. Since he was made of the force, mastering the 2 sides would make him extremely powerful.

@@michaelbenjmitchell1 especially considering he knew how to fight them. It is strongly suggested and I thonk at one point even said, that Thrawn and the Chiss were more or less holding back the Vong in the unknown regions for a long while.
This event proved that the great tragedy of Darth Vader is that he KNOWS how unforgivable his actions are. He knows, after everything he's done, there's no going back. Going back won't undo his wife's death. Going back won't undo his scars. Going back won't erase his crimes, some of which are full-on genocide. Even if the ones who knew him forgave him, the galaxy at large would not, and rightfully so. As far as he was concerned, all he had left was his own hatred. Any idea of forgiveness or a better life was a lie, and seeing it only made him angrier because he knew it could not be and he hated being reminded of that.
2:05 I read this comic when it was released and I right away knew that the lightsaber was actually a green blade so why is the thumbnail a blue blade for⁉️🤔
Fun Fact: Mustafar is actually Vader's *least* favorite place too. He feels immense pain, and sadness and hate, and it fuels him into the powers of the sith. So it's a paradox
This would be an interesting leaping-off point for a fanfiction. Showing him, for all the progress Sidious' death alone made, struggling to deal with the sheer scale of everything Sidious left behind him--it could easily be made into more than a simple AU.
3:48 and cut! If that had gone down I would be happy with this version of Star Wars. The new tale of how Anakin would reunite with Luke and Leia. Anakin working to redeem himself and undo all the damage done to the galaxy. Instead we are ultimately left with Mary Sue and “all the Jedi” killing “all the Sith”, notwithstanding the fact that Mary Sue is also a Palpatine and therefore the Sith win by technicality.
I was about to say, this is definitely NOT canon, and then I heard you say "it was all a vision." You know, I would really love it if star wars had different realities, universes, dimensions, etc. just like Marvel and DC, that'd make it more interesting
Wow! This expanded universe from the comics is really amazing just by watching this video alone. It's really awesome to see that Vader could have actually still been redeemed much earlier.
Would love to see a comic exploring an alternate reality where the vision is what he actually did and it goes through him trying to right his wrongs with Obi-Wan and the surviving Jedi along with bringing the Empire down.
IMO I think the thing that pulled him back to the dark was when he saw obi wan in the vision. He was so filled with rage for what obi wan did to him and thought of what the dark side could do with him in turn that he didn’t care anymore
when you think about this in context with the movies its kinda sweet how what it took for him to finally tread the good path again was his son. or at the very least choose to reject the sith path
Personally, I’d enjoy seeing alternate realities more than one that is already drawn out or even something in movies or scripts. Alternate endings result in many different conclusions to certain characters and stories. Like what if Mace Windu lived? What if he sensed Anakin was about to attack and blocked it?

Darth Vader: Not yet
Every fiber of my body begs for this to be what really happen but my brain know it isn't possible
He purposely used outdated technology as well to ensure Vader was under his control the whole time
Maybe this palptine is more cocky in this reality
It's like a springlock but only activated when palpatine activates it
Vaders armor has built in remote controlled springlocks
despite that, the man is still a menace
Aside from Anakin folding Sidious in mere seconds, this is quite believable.
Well if Palpatine can floor Kit Fisto is seconds then anything is possible
"ruling with an iron fist, literally"

@Hannibal Hyde yep sure is

Vader did hate Palpatine, don’t forget he tried to recruit Luke to kill him and rule the galaxy as father and son.
He hates Obi a lot, and hearing his name, Anakin, it was that make him choose the dark side
Bro what was he gonna do? Find obi wan after trying his best to kill and betray him? Obi wan wouldnt believe he would turn back
First off....the disrespect on Palaptines name.
But just show the green lightsaber, that would be enough to show that he went back to the right path
Vader, yes. Anakin, not so much. As he said, he loved Anakin like a brother.
Lie. The suit is insanely powerful.

He actually didn't need it for short periods of time

I think vader/anakin would've been stronger if he turned to the light again. The anger against his master, himself, the will to do right by padme and putting everything to hold the hope of redemption would give him more power and connection to the force. Since he was made of the force, mastering the 2 sides would make him extremely powerful.

I read this comic when it was released and I right away knew that the lightsaber was actually a green blade so why is the thumbnail a blue blade for⁉️🤔
I actually found the blue saber in thumb to be more "epic" as remind us of him as when he was a Jedi in a sense...
Which comic series is this?
I like how in his vision he imagines Obi Wan on a beautiful planet instead of the reality of Obi Wan being on Anakin's home planet

3:48 and cut! If that had gone down I would be happy with this version of Star Wars. The new tale of how Anakin would reunite with Luke and Leia. Image a film or a comic series that accually fallows vaders return post order 66 return to the light (way before luke did)
IMO I think the thing that pulled him back to the dark was when he saw obi wan in the vision. He was so filled with rage for what obi wan did to him and thought of what the dark side could do with him in turn that he didn’t care anymore
when you think about this in context with the movies
its kinda sweet how what it took for him to finally tread the good path again was his son. or at the very least choose to reject the sith path
Damm he would of had the coolest white lightsaber.
Personally, I’d enjoy seeing alternate realities more than one that is already drawn out or even something in movies or scripts. Alternate endings result in many different conclusions to certain characters and stories. Like what if Mace Windu lived? What if he sensed Anakin was about to attack and blocked it?
