I highly commend you on you ingenuity and your ability to adapt, to make use of the tools and techniques available to you, and to even use your cast as a tool! One thing that your circumstances forced you to do was not be in a big rush, in other words, you wound up making sure all of your work setups, saw, chisel cuts, drilling, and sanding/planing were "right on the money" and you could dial everything in precisely. And that was so sweet when your little girl wanted to help out! That's a beautiful guitar you made, you have more than earned the right to call yourself a luthier!

This gives me hope that I'd be able to make a guitar from scratch. I've made a couple guitar kits, but this is what I really want to do, but I don't have access to power tools, but I'm sure I could get a hold of some hand tools. That being said, anyone know what the bare minimum of tools you'd need to make a guitar like this?

    • @tchiksguitars

check out my last video. I'm explaining in a lot of details which tools you need, and what the bare minimum is (it's not far from what I used in this video)

i had my arm in a cast too many years ago, its a faint memory now. we're lucky enough to only have had to deal with it for a couple of week. As for your question "What am i doing with my life?" when showing the contraptions: you were showing ways to make woodworking more accessible for ppl with one arm. Well done sir, don't beat yourself up about it ;)
