What's wrong with Prodigy dressing up as Michael Jackson when he was a kid? A lot of kids wanted to be Michael Jackson back then.

@michaelmercury1297 Facts and he lied about Prodigy wearing a ballerina outfit, when in fact he was wearing a Michael Jackson attire which most children mimick.
How people at the Summer Jam concert let Jay Z get away with that blatant lie shows how simpleminded black people are.

I grew up during this era. I knew kids who went to catholic school and had 2 parents who ended up selling crack and getting wrapped up in street shit. Most lower middle class black families back then were one step above poverty. Prodigy talks about it in the music "when we was younger, the hood took us under very deep" . You might have a good home life but live a block away from the projects. Your extended family lived in projects etc..before crack hit it was MJ, El Debarge r&b New Edition party music etc. When crack hit it turned alot kids into Prodigys and Havocs.

You know how many niggas Prodigy got in fights and shootouts with, including known names like NORE or Keith Murray who slapped him up outside of a club? Like I said, niggas switch hit every chance they get depending on who you talking about. King Von died the EXACT same way as Pac. Von was sleep in the car and his man WOKE HIM UP and told him there Quando Rondo. He got out, put hands on him and Rondo boy pulled out the hammer and shot him. Know what everybody said? Von's people didn't protect him, they should've handled that and made sure he of all people was safe. A whole ass damn near serial killer with like eight bodies to his name.

Prodigy was in his feelings on that. These stories about people showing up with a bunch of people to deal with one person always sound crazy to me and was always looked at as cowardly back in the day, but now it's glorified (SMH!). You are supposed to deal with that person 1v1, no help. Everyone from the 70s and 80s knows that rap wasn't about "really living that life." It was about bragging, clowning someone and/or about what goes on in your neighborhood.
Now, everyone wants you to "be about that life" if you rap. What's next... movies? Fictional movies will be trashed if the writer did live that life? Rap, just like movies, was always entertainment. Rap still has alot of great music today, but it has morphed into something very dangerous for these young artists. Sad!

I always took rap as people talking about there past, these kids today are talking about what’s happening now and that’s why they are going to jail. Not to say all rappers talked facts about their life like for example Jadakiss talked about prison and never did time.
Hip hop was aggressive back then as well tho, it just wasn’t social media like today to put it on blast. Example: master P & pimp c got into it that nobody knew while Pimp was alive.

It’s a direct between being scared and being cautious. When you’re in a war, you better be careful. Can’t be stupid.

Dude said NOTHING about pac or nothing about 50! Dude is a strategist who definitely deals in the 48 laws of power: He attacks who he think is weak. This is why he went at Nas and got one of the rudest awakenings. Yes, he has more money than Nas…but we talking the rap battle itself.

@@Fleet-y3v 😂 He WENT AT NAS AND MOBB DEEP…ONLY. The 50 cent line was weak. 50 played him out in interviews and in songs! He didn’t want it with Fif, not because he couldn’t out rap him, Fif was good with the hands and bangers…and his street cred was SUPER SOLID! Trust me!!Jay ignored him. Go look at 50 interviews! He never went at Pac…I don’t care what he wrote and shelved…no one heard it. Jay is dope…but he attacks who he think is weak in the street, physically weak…and have a weak fan base he can win over!

@@kirkMoWhiskey 😂 😂 Man, that’s the softest thing I’ve ever heard. Both of those responses! I don’t believe you referenced them! Are you kidding me? The only reason he said the “wtf is 50 cent”, is because it was a light hearted rap respected jab…and 50 didn’t even have a record deal! 50 ran down on Jay like “what you wanna do? Wanna off each other?” Jay made a joke about “let’s not mess up the money” 50 told Flex, I knew he was gonna say that when I caught him!” Trust me, Jay is dope, but he stay away from the real beefs. I will always and this is just my opinion think that Jay Z is soft I don't care how much money he has for not responding during the East Coast West Coast beef That's why it's Mobb D forever 💪🏾

Jay was almost unknown outside of NY n def the East coast. Remember, Reasonable Doubt was kinda a flop at first. Great album but didn't sell. It wasn't until the end with pac's Makaveli album Jay's name got mentioned. N pac was dead already. Mobb Deep were the bigger artists at the time.

Prodigy was sneak dissing all over HNIC. And I rocked with Prodigy, so I caught all the subliminals. That’s what got him dissed and on that summerjam screen. Prodigy was fire, “Apostle’s Warning” is one of the greatest verses ever. But, he never sounded the same after that summerjam shxt. He progressively sounded more reserved on records.
