I have been trying to cultivate a daily yoga practice and really enjoyed this class and will definitely be doing again in the future. I personally find it difficult to fit in longer practices before work so my only comment would be more classes of this sort of length. Thank you! ☺️
I honestly think this is the best yoga practice I have done in a good while. Thank you! Also the remind to keep the hips safe was very useful, no one had ever really pointed it out to me but it changes the game a lot.
Thank you so much Olive. This was delicious to do this morning. Struggled with the side gate leg lift; didn't realise how weak my side hip muscles were until doing. I loved the sequence of poses though. I'll be practicing this one a lot!
Thank you for practicing! Aaaa yes it’s crazy when you start doing some more isolated work and realise the differences between sides! Glad you’ve noticed it and going to work on it! Thank you 🙏🏽
Lovely! Can you explain what you meant by 'engaging the glutes to protect the hips' please? Is this because the stresses through the hips can be mitigated through glute activation?
Thanks! Yes for sure, so the glutes are one of the primary muscles when it comes to providing the hips and pelvis with stability (among the others like hamstrings, adductors, abductors, quads etc) so without that engagement in them you risk over mobilising the joint into the tendons and ligaments which are structures that you don’t want to over mobilise and weaken as it could cause further injury. Hope this helps!
