I put this in my ceo7 installed by my luthier tech. Amazing and didn’t dull the tome by weighting down the top like the other anthem. Also I have eq and tuner available on side.
I’m giving you a big thumbs up for playing Turn of the Century at the end. Sounds like you’re a big Yes fan. (And, of course, Steve Howe). The preamp sounded pretty good as well. I’m looking for a system to replace the terrible preamp my Breedlove came with (also an LR Baggs) and this may be the one I go with.

I’m about to cut one of these into my $3,000 Martin CEO-7. Hope the contour on the mounting plate fits flush with a 00 smaller shoulder size. I guess I could maybe add a bit of epoxy or craft a shim to make sure. Wish me luck. I’ve done the regular Anthem before and will probably replace the Fishman Prefix +T in my Gibson Songwriter next. LR Baggs Anthem is the best. Thanks for the video!
PLEASE PLEASE please don't cut a massive hole into the side of your CEO-7!! Use the Anthem that mounts fully internally. You are going to destroy the resale value of your guitar by cutting a gaping hole into your piece of art guitar, plus it is a real eyesore.....just sayin....
@@mspring6387 I’m sorry but already had a professional luthier do it a year ago because I was scared to screw up such a great guitar. I got a good one that’s really snappy with a great neck so I’ll never sell it as with most other really good instruments I bought for a good reason. The reason I didn’t take advice like yours is I had the regular sound hole anthem on my 30 year old Yamaha. It definitely dulled the vibration of the top with something even as light as a few ounces. The CEO7 is Adirondack thin and snappy. Second is the stagepro has EQ!!!!! Notch and Tuner easily available while performing.. every other acoustic guitar manufacturer puts a large hole in the bout of their guitars but usually puts a POS Fishman in. The LR Baggs is far superior. Their venue DI is absolutely a match made perfect. I’m going to modify my Gibson Songwriter EC next by removing the Fishman and maybe having to add some wood around the mount. Will be absolutely no compromise to the vibration and sound compared to something dampening the top. Again I don’t care about selling it but these companies should be offering this from factory anyway so it’s actually worth more imho.
Yeah. Funny thing, I work as a design engineer. A guy at my company offered to make a custom black delrin spacer too. The guitar is in the hands of my friend. If it becomes an issue, we could still make the part. Thanks for the watch!
Nice work! I'm wondering if you (or anyone watching) has done a conversion from an LR Baggs Anthem (controls in sound hole) to this LR Baggs Stagepro. I got a Gibson second hand that had a hole in the side already, but someone put an Anthem in the sound hole. I figured I'd get a Stagepro and fill the hole back in. Also give easier access to controls. So the big question, are the piezo, microphone and output the same for both units? I'm hoping I could just plug in the existing pickups to the new Stagepro element. That would be nice. Thanks for any info.
Hey Brett. I worked on a Taylor that had an original Fishman side mounted electronics module, which I removed and replaced with the Anthem Stagepro. The hole in the guitar was slightly larger than required but I did get it in and secure. I guess you could measure that hole in the Gibson and compare to the Anthem requirements. Second, I do believe that the Element and Mic jacks are the same. Reach out if you have more questions.
The regular Anthem under saddle and bridge are the same. The regular Anthem sound hole control is attached with 3m tape adhesive. I’d use some adhesive remover or razor to get it off. You’ll find that the top actually becomes more responsive without it. That’s why I’m cutting into my new Martin to install a stagepro. Plus the added features like Notch, eq and tuner are huge. I’m going to check if the stagepro box will drop in fit my Gibson Songwriter Fishman Prefix+T top mount as well before I do the Martin install. Can always shim or even epoxy it to fit. The sides are probably the least resonant part of the guitar so I’m not concerned like I would be top.
Cary, I have a Samick Acoustic Cutaway with a Fishman Pickup. The Cutout might be similar to the LR Baggs you installed. Do you know if the LR Baggs hole cut is the same as a Fishman Cutout. Thanks Gene
Hi Gene. Each pickup manufacturer will require a slightly different hole size to fit the control module. When I installed this into a different guitar that had an existing Fishman Pickup, I was able to utilize the existing cutout. I can't say if was optimal because the existing hole was slightly larger than required. However, I was able to get it installed and secure. Unless you looked closely you were not able to see the slight gap. I hope you are able to solve this issue. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any other advice!

Hey Tanner, as long as the main part of the element is under the bridge saddle, the excess is inside the guitar, connected to the wire going through the small hole drilled.
Yeah LRB is absolutely the best sounding and engineered pickup. I’ve been playing for 30 years and the only reason anyone uses Fishman withiout the boundaries mic of LRB is to save money and suck!

One, a tool for an artist to help them with their art; and two, the guitar is the art itself and the player gets to be fortunate to play and enjoy the instrument. In the case of this pickup, it has always improved the sound of the instrument plugged in.
I have to agree with attybong. Cutting into a beautiful instrument, which to me is also a piece of art, with a gaping hole when the same manufacturer produces essentially the same technology (Anthem) that would be concealed and kept fully internal, would certainly be my path to take. You are right, to each his own. I also would think that resale value and ability to sell would be affected if the same exact guitar had the StagePro Anthem versus the Anthem. Just my 2 cents.

I made my own template using the rubber insert as my pattern. I rounded the corners like the rubber insert and it fit perfectly.
You're totally right. That rout template is oversized compared to the inner lip on the rubber bezel.

I would go to hardware store to look for a washer that could fit te low part around jack. Great video !

Does the under saddle pick up need to go flush to the end or can it be fed through to hold it under?

The sound hole version actually dampens the response of the top and has no eq Mic drop!!!!!!!
