Okay I’m commenting round 2! I’m still on the hunt for the most perfect Starbucks dupe! This guy isn’t lying the vanilla syrup is a must have! What I’ve been doing is adding more brown sugar opposed to white, and adding some maple syrup……. I heat it all to dissolve the sugar completely (takes a while) and then I add the vanilla BC THE SEEDS are so STICKY! But this vanilla is amazing!!!! So much better than extract which is soaked in alcohol…….. Okay now the xanthum gum, use a tiny pinch! I’ve found that it does have a slight flavor (it’s okay Starbucks used this along with pectin in their frappe bases and regular Frappuccino in the glass bottle) and this recipe kind of calls for Wayyyy too much! So I use a pinch of the gum and it works just fine! I’ve also found that you need to use some type of cream. I’ve tried heavy cream (not a fan of the flavor) and I do have to say I’m still on the hunt for a good sweet cream replacement for the heavy, but I tolerate the heavy cream bc this adds the depth to the drink in terms of flavor, and you need just a touch of this. The ice cream is a must have! However, another tweak I’ve done is to add vanilla powder. It adds a lot more sweetness to the drink. What I haven’t liked in this drink is condensed milk instead of heavy cream, too much X gum, vanilla syrup that wasn’t the homemade kind, and vanilla creamer. But this drink is still missing something! I’ve got the texture right, the depth of flavoring, but the flavor is a tad off! I dk if it’s bc I need to start adding some simple syrup or some kind of liquid type of sugar or corn syrup instead. I find this drink still tastes too milkshakey and not like the typical Starbucks frappe. When going to McDonald’s and buying their Carmel frappe, it’s so sweet but not like sugar. I think I need to add sweetness but not in a sugar form! If anyone has suggestions plz lmk! But this drink would still appeal to a lot of ppl, this drink recipe is a hidden gem on YT, but I want a Starbucks dupe Yano…..
