Dear Paul, Thank you for this wonderful performance. I have got this piece in my fingers but could use some help with keeping the little ascending flourishes light and delicate in bars 43-44 (the ones born out of the trills). Do you have any advice? Best wishes.
@@PaulBartonPiano That would be amazing and so kind! I know you're busy so I understand if you cannot. As an aside, I'm sure I am not the only one who feels this way, but you are the most longstanding teacher I've had for any discipline. I have spent many years (from a boy) watching your playing and tutorials. I have made so much progress by mimicking your economy of motion and physical approach to piano, stripped of all gratuitous flourishes and showmanship. Repeating your old mantra of "repetition equals results" has yielded so much progression. Please don't dismiss this as smoke/posterior chat. Your kindness and gentle encouragement have guided so many of us to become better amateur pianists, enriching our lives immeasurably. I've realised that I have not contributed back to you in any way and I feel terrible. Please forgive me - I will amend this via Patreon. It won't be much but it is the least I can do even if it is late. With very best wishes - Rohan
When I was younger, I never really appreciated this piece. But it's such a trove of minor miracles to uncover. The dynamics, for starters, are a puzzle to solve, with no single solution.
This is such a special piece for me. It has always moved me and I think I've played it thousands of times. I haven't heard it in awhile so I thank you, Paul.🎹🎶🎶
It’s amazing how you are able to upload so many beautiful intricate Chopin`s pieces these past few days. Very impressive and how I wished I can play half like you. To be able to play flawlessly with feelings without needing to practice 😂. I was thinking do you have an upload of your biography, how did you started playing and your childhood. Makes me feel you are like a prodigy person to be able to play so well. If you have that video, hope you are able to link me so I can watch and know you better. Thanks for the marvelous pieces!
Omg thank you so much Paul!! This is my favorite piece from Chopin, I can’t believe something like this exists, it’s insanely Beautiful!! Again thank you Paul!! 💜
Love thia rendition. No overdone legatos and effects. Played manly with the right level of sensitivity. Bravo sir, if I could play it half as well Incoild die happy
What a beautiful piece and so delicately played. I’m always so excited when I see a new video from you!! Thanks for sharing your art with us - we need it more than ever these days.
When it's beautiful like this, I think I can understand something more. It's playful. The first few notes, doesn't announce the immensity of it's beauty, but make a good base to provoke grandeur. Could someone collapse hearing this music? Litterally, on the ground. ❤️☀️
Le temps me semblait ennuyeux et vous êtes arrivé avec votre piano et cet air de Chopin qui coule en douceur sous vos doigts...L'ennui s'en est allé pour faire place au plaisir. Merci 🎶 🎵🎶
I think is a bit too slow, such tempo adds weight then it sounds more like a Brahms intermezzo than Chopin, without its unique mystery and poesy. The constant rhythmical accents on the left hand add further weight. I know, Chopin ain't easy...

Absolutely beautiful! I downloaded the sheet music from your link. Maybe it’s overly ambitious but I’m going to try it.
I tried this piece out.
I couldn't quite get the speed up in a couple of passages.
Wrong hands. That's my excuse!!
Worth the journey though.
Still working on it and making progress. Tough but doable.
