Thank you Rina first time I am making this recipe and I think it looks yummy waiting for my children to grade me😅 with this recipe. I am 78 years old and cooking is my passion.
I scrolled the many RUclips Kangkung Belacan recipe's to see which looks to what is the best for me as I can recall way back into the 70s 80s being very young, yours looks appropriate like the original to me. About to try it today. Tks 🙏
miss thiiis! one of my faves when i was in malaysia including daging merah (i think daging merah is my most favorite of all 😁❤️😋) thank you for sharing mam rina ❤️
Hi can I ask if I don't add water while stir frying, how will I know if my kang Kong has been fully cooked? Another question here...can I boil my kang Kong in hot water first before I stir fry them?
Hi sorry for the late reply...actually you don't need to add water when you cook kangkong coz this vegi brings out water originally when you cook it...and normally you only need 3 minutes to get kangkong cooked...its cooked very fast... You can boil the kangkong 1st when you cook but the taste won't be good/nice...it will hv a flat taste...
Thanks for sharing your method, next time use 2 spatula or 1 spatula and a pair of Chopsticks to quick stir fry the Kangkong, you over fried them . I fry the sambal well then add in some water and simmer it for awhile, then add in all the Kangkong in 1 go, fry them by lifting up the bottom up like you did, once all all fried , season to taste , dish up. Normally in restaurant it has some sauce in it,. that's why I added in water to cook the sambal. It is good idea to fry the dried shrimps, I will do that as I often blend them with the sambal.
It's stirred using chopsticks in a Chinese way... She does in a Malay style, and not everyone knows how to use chopsticks... I think she did a fantastic easy way of kangkung belacan recipe, and it doesn't appear overcooked.... Maybe it depends; some people prefer her way of preparing kangkung belacan, while others prefer your method of preparing kangkung belacan.
She do perfectly nice. Nothing to complain about. 😌 If you want to complain that this dish is not like Chinese style with chopsticks.. you may watch the chinese style kangkong .. this is clearly can see its look like Malay style.
Ok abang saya akan buat video dgn bahasa melayu juga. Saya pun rasa pening sebab ada subscribers suruh buat dlm bahasa English, dan some of my subscribers marah I suruh cakap bahasa tamil...and sekarang suruh buat bahasa melayu pula...

Why u never put the belacan?
I already fried the belacan/Shrimp paste and add into the pan while cooking the chilli paste sis. Please check out the recipe again. Tq
Hi sis, Can i use dried anchovy as a subs for the dried shrimp? Will it still taste good if i use anchovies?
Hi Aluk. Yes u can use.. Anchovies will also taste good but definitely dried Shrimp has a better taste.
@@rinaskitchen9393 just tried it. I cooked it without shrimp nor anchovy. And it still taste good. Thank u very much !
