Such a shame that Alabama keeps destroying the critical habitats we have. I see so much destruction going on in my area, some containing rare species....
So glad I found this video!! We are visiting Southern Alabama currently and it’s absolutely beautiful here!! Nothing like I imagined, love your video and thank you!
great movie so glad I was recommended this, thank you for the attention you're bringing to this so that hopefully these last amazing areas of wilderness in the south can be preserved
I hope that you and your colleagues succeed in your endeavor. You are an inspiration. We need more individuals and groups all over the country - correction, all over the globe - to work on preserving the Natural World around us.
Hello. I read your book from the public library in Chicago, IL. I want to know if you explore the longleaf pine forest of the Southeastern US because I read that it is one of the most biodiverse regions of the US.
Check out The Green Swamp Preserve in South Carolina, Splinter Hill Bog in Alabama, and Apalachicola National Forest in Florida! They all have Longleaf Pine savannas and a wealth of rare plant species.
It's crazy to see how make people are hating on this simply because this place is in Alabama... I would think people into nature docs would have more love for nature and less opinions about where it's located.
I named it that due to its world class biodiversity. Check out my book, Saving America's Amazon. www.amazon.com/Saving-Americas-Amazon-Ben-Raines/dp/1588383385
Alabama is uniquely diverse in America, that was more the point. Alabama has more than twice as many species per square mile as any other state. Alabama leads in all aquatic diversity categories for all of North America. Alabama is home to the world’s largest collection of mussel species, snail species, and turtle species. For instance, the Mobile Tensaw Delta has more turtle species than any other river delta on Earth. Ben
@@flowzerr4550 “The Americas” is plural due to there being a North America and South America. He used a possessive S with and apostrophe. But you are right who was he to think that people would have enough critical thinking skills to determine he wasn’t talking about The Americas as a whole.
I thought I was gonna get a different kind of nature show. They all mention diversity in the first two minutes - even if they are taking about the desert or a tundra. Then they talk about how mankind is poison to the Earth.
You don't understand language. America obviously refers to the USA. "South America" is a completely different name. "The AmericaS" refers to the continents. I don't know why some people have such a problem with the USA that they have to make up nonsense to be smug about. People use language in different ways in different contexts, and obviously the title phrasing is implying the USA if you thought about it for 2 seconds before commenting.
Um....THE Amazon IS in America....South America.....so....this is America's "second Amazon"? The US is ONE OF THREE countries in NORTH America..... USA people think they are more than they are.
As an American, I’d like to apologize for his mistake. In our pride we tend to forget of our southern neighbors, I wish that y’all may forgive him on behalf of me.
There's no mistake. There is one country called America, and this is its most diverse place. . The phrase "America's Amazon" has been an excellent rallying cry to encourage people to preserve this incredible habitat. Please don't do any apologizing on my behalf. Everything about this film is intentional. Especially the title.
“The native humans lived and thrived in the delta for thousands of years…. Then we came along”…. Nailed it. We destroyed so much natural habitat, so quickly, and built more and more dams and caused the extinction of myriad species and pour toxic waste into rivers and IS THAT PAPERMILL STILL PUMPING WASTE DIRECTLY INTO THE RIVER?!?!?! Why do you even NEED all those dams?! Nice job republicans- this one’s on you.
Most dam projects & protectorate of all USA waterways is the United States Army Corp of Engineers. Just a FYI, almost all, dam projects were built while Democrat administration was in charge. Study & research before you make baseless & erroneous claims. Sincerely an Independent voter.

Absolutely Awesome video. I'm in North Georgia and I'm fond of my neighboring states. I learned alot from you, sir. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤

Fun fact : there are black jaguar sightings in Alabama
Probably black house cats or dogs
@PNWhiker-r1v nope leopards as well there their all right
@@Sprigatito687 of course every piece of anecdotal evidence is correct my bad. You probably believe in black mountain lions as well?
Hello. I was thinking that the actual Amazon region in South America has more biodiversity than Alabama.

@benraines3535 So when you say "America 's Amazon" what you really mean is "North America's Amazon" right?

Louisiana native here. It’s a shame we prioritize industries profits over our environment
One possible way to deal with that pollution would be to stop buying any product that is produced by that papermill..
🤯 How did you come up with that?
Dude, the Amazon is in America, its in South America. A better title would have been, "North America's Amazon" or "Amazon of the US"
Do you really think those are materially different from America's Amazon? Everyone knows where America is. Hope you liked the film. Ben
@@benraines3535Well yes, I have to agree with the other comment. It is materially different. And yes, the film is wonderful!!!!

Yes, everyone I know from Colombia, Venezuela etc. They always tell people they're from America😅😅😅

What a failure of a title lol
