I'm not a religious person but I've been Lecrae for about 5 years. While I do admit Lecrae's music about God/Jesus has made me believe in at least some powerful being watching over us, it more importantly has guided me on my journey to be a better human being to all my fellow brothers and sisters.
I think as long as we are waiting for everything around us to change, we cannot/will not believe. It's when we believe that the change slowly starts in us, by gaining a deeper understanding about God & how he sees us, we get a new perspective & learn to handle our problems more the Jesus-like way... My nephew Kyron is 7. He is of mixed race, Caucasian and African American. He loves RAP and can sing very well. He was listening to mainstream rap, watching videos. I was disturbed by that. I directed him to Lacrae. He loves this song. He has had a rough life already. His dad never wanted to be in his life and has not been. My niece, his mother is struggling with drug addiction. She is signing over custody to my my nephew, her brother. I am very sad but I feel it is best for him. My nephew has been taking care of him 50 percent with grandma doing the other 50 percent. He is a very difficult child but not his fault really. I pray for him everyday. My heart aches for him. I am gonna be in his life as much as I can and try to get him to church. He wants to go. This song has been my rock this year... I have seen my wife go through so many medical issues, nearly dying several times, and so many days I have felt like I was drowning... So thankful for my messiah who pulls me back up.
I knew the song came out but I kept putting off listening to it like “ahh I listen later” but never got around to it. A few days ago I was hit spiritually and had to realize it’s God in control and to stop doubting myself. Idk the enemy was on me hard and thanks to my Father in heaven and talks with my mom I’ve been able to not listen to the doubts. This song is just what I needed. God is my final breath. Without Him I’m lifeless. God is holding my hand and leading me out of the boat but those last few days my doubts had me driving but God still helped me up. The craziest thing is I remember being locked up and I felt like my life was over and that's when I heard your music and while I was locked up I was made lead singer in there. I love to sing but I was in turmoil but after hearing your music your first song I heard was Jesus music. After I heard that song everything changed my perspective on genre and music I never thought that Christian music could sound like that and that's when I started diving towards your way and started focusing on some of your music and then I started diving deep and listening to the words cuz my mother told me to now I hear this song drown and so I just realized that even people who look like they're superheroes to others in a way of inspiration and motivation sometimes even they feel like they're drowning so yes definitely keeping you in my prayers. I will never forget when I first listened to Lecrae. 2010. It really changed my life for the better! His music has guided me through a lot of gritty times and good ones too. He and the movement is SOOOO underrated. He is one of the greats inside and outside of hip-hop.

Upon watching this video, here's my thought; 2020 seems very a tough year for all of us. Tragedy, pandemic, lots of opportunities, people hurt and died. It seems to feel like the world we live in keep us drowning by what's happening right now. But, let us sinking deep by seeking the Lord every day. Everything happens for a reason. It hurts, yes, but hey loves, God is good! He is in control. We might not understand, but God will reveal Himself, His purpose and reasons why these things are happening. I want to plead with you, there are people in your life or people near you but not yet in your life who want to listen and help carry your burden. If you need to talk urgently you can call a suicide hotline and they will listen and let you get it out. If you need someone to walk with you and help you find a path to recovery, please reach out to a local pastor and let them know the urgency of the situation. If they dont take you seriously, reach out to another. There are resources available. Also I dont know where you are at spiritually but pray to Jesus and ask him to fill you with light and destroy all the darkness that is oppressing you. Ask him to deliver you. He wants to show you how much he loves you. He wants to give you hope and freedom. He wants you to know even the worst past in the world he can forgive and he can even bring healing. Suicide is a lie from hell and it is a trap. It is not your answer. It is a lie. Please look to jesus. Pray in his name for help and begin reading the bible every day even though you feel trapped right now because it will help you start to see clearly. I used to jam Lecrae hard but even though he still makes music that sounds good it lacks heart and anointing. It's corny to constantly bash Lecrae. I don't really like his new music but he's still important to the Kingdom. He seems to be caught up with the wordly artists and he seems to be more influenced by them than the other way around. My nephew Kyron is 7. He is of mixed race, Caucasian and African American. He loves RAP and can sing very well. He was listening to mainstream rap, watching videos. I was disturbed by that. I knew the song came out but I kept putting off listening to it like “ahh I listen later” but never got around to it. A few days ago I was hit spiritually and had to realize it’s God in control and to stop doubting myself. Hey Lecrae just wanted to give a shout out to you. Your music has helped me out in so many ways. The craziest thing is I remember being locked up and I felt like my life was over and that's when I heard your music and while I was locked up I was made lead singer in there. I love to sing but I was in turmoil but after hearing your music your first song I heard was Jesus music. After I heard that song everything changed my perspective on genre and music I never thought that Christian music could sound like that and that's when I started diving towards your way and started focusing on some of your music and then I started diving deep and listening to the words cuz my mother told me to now I hear this song drown and so I just realized that even people who look like they're superheroes to others in a way of inspiration and motivation sometimes even they feel like they're drowning so yes definitely keeping you in my prayers. I want to plead with you, there are people in your life or people near you but not yet in your life who want to listen and help carry your burden. The “Don’t condone but don’t condemn” line from LTTA album has given me chills... and i used it in some of my vlogs as i tried to tackle socio cultural issues here in the Philippines back in 2018... now i am struggling with my walk with God as I see how evil my heart is and sometimes all I can do is lament to God... and this album right here is it! Modern day psalms. People hating on you... but didnt hate on David when He lamented and grieved... we sing songs in the mountaintops, we sing song when we’re in the valleys - both glorify The God of both. Keep being real sir lecrae, i know new levels mean new devils... but we have the same God. People hating as if they stepped into your shoes, we’re praying for you sir lecrae! You have brought many souls to the lover of souls, it is time we pray for you!!

I used to jam Lecrae hard but even though he still makes music that sounds good it lacks heart and anointing. It's corny to constantly bash Lecrae. I don't really like his new music but he's still important to the Kingdom. He seems to be caught up with the wordly artists and he seems to be more influenced by them than the other way around. He really needs prayer and true friends to help him to not drift so far away from his faith. I was bisexual but kept to myself so I know what it's like to be bound by sin and lukewarm.

I love how crae doesn't diss anybody in his music. He just does him and it's not afraid to share his love of Jesus. Most of these rappers can learn something from him.

Everybody hates on lecrae for having a “new sound”, but he is hella versatile. Very talented! Would be a shame if he used all of his talent on one “sound”
