I was thinking, his arguments were: terrorists and criminals use it, crypto has lost 95 percent of its value from ath, no one uses crypto, and all crypto transactions are on exchanges. That was it!! So if no one uses it then terrorists, criminals and exchanges count as no one. Leaving the ath argument which is super narrow in scope. What state educational institution pays this guy?

Rouhini is totally correct. Bitcoin, etc is not a currency. You don't need a $9,000 token to safely send money across borders. Paypal does that already. Sending money in an unregulated fashion is just stupid and you're asking to get ripped off, just like 95% of people who have invested and been scammed or ripped off. Nice !

Roubini is right on many things. However EOS will scale past VISA and transaction eliminate fees,. Stable coins like PAXOS, DAI and USDC are currency. Lastly adoption will occur because it will be in their financial interest, Celsius and the carry trade based on interest rate differential will drive this. Digital Identities using 3rd party KYC and zk snarks or can weed out bad actors without compromising privacy. Finally bancor and Ox will enable seam less transfer of value in the backend to anybodies preferred currency.

But I think he's too focused in day to day payments (groceries, paying coffee and stuff), and the main use case of BTC as today is Store of Value / savings technology. Therefore both coins are complementary. You don't want to be the next guy spending 10,000 BTC for two pizzas. As a replacement of gold as SoV, BTC is in my opinion much well positioned. And if you take a look at the lindy effect chart, SoV is just a first step to become full global money. I agree that BTC, BCH, LTC, Dash, etc can co-exist but history show us that network effects count and winner takes all (as with gold) might also be a possible outcome.

@@kamranfrancois8145 sir,i understand where you are coming from but its not like criminals were not sending money around the world before bitcoin. they did all the time with US dollar. most illegal transaction world wide is with US dollar. you are right when you say that criminals are participating the bitcoin system but they also take part in our traditional system. the question is, which of these systems is better for the good people, like you and me...and by the way, bitcoin is extremely traceable...there are no anonymous transactions on the bitcoin blockchain...and most big exchanges require KYC from their costumers and they track their transactions...
