This is just simply magnificent and very moving - thank you! This is Pollini at his absolute best; the integrity, passion, intellectual grasp, flawless technique - and here also the wonderful evidence of his incandescently beautiful sound at that time (helped by the most marvellous piano here) - this aspect of his playing often overlooked. What a beautiful recorded sound too, from a live source.
@@JohannesB100 As far as I know, this one from Paris is the only complete recording of this program in that period: there is a recording from Salzburg (22-8-89) but only with Beethoven 106 and Brahms 119. Then there are recordings from London (10-11-88) With Brahms (119) Schoenberg (op.19,23,25) and Stockhausen (V and IX) and Beethoven op.57; London(22-10-1988) Beethoven 106, Brahms 118 and 119, Schoenberg op.11; Milan(19-10-1988) Beethoven 106
@@guidosarpero6263 Wow, thank you for the info. I know the concerts from Salzburg and Milan, but never heard of the two concerts from London. By any chance, would you know where I could find them ?
@@JohannesB100 Thank you for reacting! I mean, 'Is this the same performance (or another place, take) , which was broadcasted on NHKFm? I cassette taped and listened many times.' Did you use a translator? Thank you a lot!

This is fantastic. Thank you!!
road from Beethoven of my 80s to contemporary
Thanks for making it revive the precious document.
Do you mean the same program was broadcasted on NHKFm ? Didn’t know of that. This one was recorded in Paris

Pollini is smoking?
Pollini was a very heavy smoker, I guess no less than 30-40 cigarettes each day.
@@flaviodrusovalerio2825 Very naughty.
