In this vision of Regis, Noctis travels alone, is being led astray by a false friend (the dog which turns out is a demon dog/Ardyn) and eventually falls to the darkness and becomes like Ardyn/kills Luna like Ardyn did. That's why at the beginning of the game Regis urged the guys to always stick by Noctis. To prevent this from coming true. One of the best and most meaningful trailers I've seen.
I'm guessing Noct going alone would lead to this dark timeline. And to prevent that Regis decided that it be best for Noct to travel with his friends to his wedding.

For anyone watching this in need of some context, this is a "what-if" scenario where Noctis travels without his bros, the dark dog signifies Ardyn, the game's villain, a.k.a. the Starscourge, King Regis is talking to the crystal of Lucis within which Bahamut resides. The "one" whose death the crystal looks forward to is Ardyn's and the one who will take "responsibility" is Noctis. The reason King Regis feels so guilty is because he knows that his actions will lead to the death of many, including Noctis. There, you're all caught up now.
People praise Pixar for having such "amazing" animation, but nothing they have done has ever come to this. This looks breathtaking. Will the game be this good? We don't know for sure, but this video still is a masterpiece.
Throughout the trailer Noctis seems to supposedly follow and keep up with Luna's dog Pryna (aka Tiny - who btw still wears Prompto's bandage here), in order to eventually find and save Luna - while in truth he was going there to kill her. That false dog was leading him astray - manipulating him in order to fulfil a dark destiny, where he murders her. While, at the same time, in the reflection, Luna- who's the one on the quest here - was following her own dog to meet up with Noctis. Both didn't know how bad things will turn out though. All this hard work and fighting and instead of finding her to save her, he ended up being her doom. The fast transitions and surrealistic pacing give off a distinct dream-like feeling. Just like with real dreams - and nightmares - we are constantly drawn from one location to another, one scene to the next. Sometimes by our own will, though usually- out of our control. This is a dark foreshadowing Omen of a troubled King concerned for his Kingdom's future. And a father worried for his dear son's safety.
Also, Noctis doesn't seem to realize the continuous world shifting happening around him and just goes with it, which is also a very dream-like characteristic. At a certain point he seems to lose his magic powers and has to fight without it. I think this trailer is just one of his nightmares, concerning his worst fears about the situation he finds himself thrown in, trying to save Luna but also trying to keep his inner demons at bay.
Sadly, World of Final Fantasy ended up being a better RPG than this is. This is a glorified cutscene, the battling happens almost automatically, it *looks* great, but it lacks substance, and if there is any they haven't showed it. If you have played any of the new Batman games, or that Lord of the Rings one, this is what this is. Nothing to do with FF. And with 5 Day1 DLC packs announced, I will personally wait a very long time before i buy this.

Considering that this whole trailer is an omen, a vision of the future, it should be taken that everything here is metaphoric, as most visions of the future tend to be. Keeping that in mind, having the dog change like that really strongly suggests that someone noctis trusts isn't what he seems and is trying to lead him down the wrong path.

The Omen is avoided... With King Regis sending Noctis off accompanied by his friends. In this trailer he's solo, and he loses his way without the company of his brothers.
The chocobros missing means this could've happened if Noctis is alone travelling and going to Luna eventually killing her. I believe this is the reason why Regis sent Noctis WITH the chocobros, they can prevent this from happening just by being with him, "I ask not for you to guide my wayward son, merely that you remain at his side." is what Regis said in the CG graphic in the TGS trailer. Also, I think what Regis meant by "May the Gods forgive me" is that he could've prevented this "omen" from happening but then he chose to love his son and set up the Lucis force field (wall) not to save the kingdom but to save Noctis.
Noctis is kinda in a difficult situation. He's the Chosen one, destined to bring the light back but he was also chosen as Chaos's vessel of doom....In the end, I believe Noct is possibly gonna sacrificed himself.

Noticed that the crystal's voice is the same as General Glauca in armor? Could be that he was under it's control? I didn't noticed in the movie but whatever... And what about those ancient gods? Why it needs Luna dead? King doesn't even against it, it seems in this trailer he accepts it. Or God forgive me could mean he will try to stop this. The crystal is with the gods or not? That thing is bitch if it only gives protection for sacrifice! Like. a bad farytale. Maybe this could be the bad ending... So many questions yet only a few answers that only bring new questions... Anyway, I hope we'll see plot twists, drama as this in the game. Give Oscar to this mini-movie!!

I don't know about that. I had the feeling that he was talking to the crystal itself, which would suggest that this last surviving crystal isn't a crystal of light like most would assume, but a crystal of darkness instead.
This is probably going to be one of the darkest Final Fantasy's up there with Type-0. And here I thought this was going to be a boy band adventures game.

my best moment in XV so far was having Aranea Highwind, a dragoon (♡!), in your party (who I still believe was supposed to be Stella in the initial Versus 13), while going into that beautiful dungeon that looks like straight out of Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward. That moment was pure gold for me!!

I think i finally understand the concept of this story, took me a while to think about it long read incomming: So this story is actually about a foreshadowing/prophecy/vision or "OMEN" that the King Regis Lucis see's of a possible future of what happens when the events of Kingsglaive happens but if he succeds or something. Remember Lunafreya's brother joined the Empire and tried to betray the Noctis's father and his Lucis Kingdom. Even though Lunafreya was loyal to the Lucis people, and was a prisoner of the empire, maybe if events went differently Noctis would blame Luna. That dark sounding voice is probably some god/demon/super power that has to do with the crystal that tells the king about the omen. So knowing this, the king probably knew about all the events that will happen in kingsglaive and that is why it happened the way it did, because he would rather Noctis go through that path even if it is a path full of sorrow and hardship but in the end he turns out "good", rather then the other path where he turned out as "evil". TL;DR: story is about an OMEN/prophecy of what would happen if King Lucis allowed the events of Kingsglaive to go one way which would turn Noctis evil, so that is why the events of Kingsglaive happened the way they did since Lucis did not want his son to go down the path of this "OMEN/prophecy"

Even though the game isn't how I wanted it to be, this is still by far my most favorite ff of all time. Personally best final fantasy of all time. Noctis is just a great character. Yeah, he can beat any ff character with ease. 👌✌
Now that is pure art! This reminds me why i still love the final fantasy series to this day. a lot of love and respect for gamers went into the making of this series. May it last for many years to come. my only wish is for it to be released on the PC.

my best moment in XV so far was having Aranea Highwind, a dragoon (♡!), in your party (who I still believe was supposed to be Stella in the initial Versus 13), while going into that beautiful dungeon that looks like straight out of Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward. That moment was pure gold for me!!

Favorite game trailer of my favorite game of all time.
I think i finally understand the concept of this story, took me a while to think about it long read incomming:
So this story is actually about a foreshadowing/prophecy/vision or "OMEN" that the King Regis Lucis see's of a possible future of what happens when the events of Kingsglaive happens but if he succeds or something. Remember Lunafreya's brother joined the Empire and tried to betray the Noctis's father and his Lucis Kingdom. Even though Lunafreya was loyal to the Lucis people, and was a prisoner of the empire, maybe if events went differently Noctis would blame Luna. That dark sounding voice is probably some god/demon/super power that has to do with the crystal that tells the king about the omen. So knowing this, the king probably knew about all the events that will happen in kingsglaive and that is why it happened the way it did, because he would rather Noctis go through that path even if it is a path full of sorrow and hardship but in the end he turns out "good", rather then the other path where he turned out as "evil".
TL;DR: story is about an OMEN/prophecy of what would happen if King Lucis allowed the events of Kingsglaive to go one way which would turn Noctis evil, so that is why the events of Kingsglaive happened the way they did since Lucis did not want his son to go down the path of this "OMEN/prophecy"
This trailer actually makes so much sense after finishing the game and examining Ardyn's story and FFXV lore in general.

This is obviously metaphorical and completely unrelated to the game...just as its quality is unparalleled compared to what we played and what we were shown of the actual game.
To be fair, they did say this game was supposed to be one of the most depressing and dark Final Fantasy games to date.
This is actually a trailer showing us what must be avoided, what we can't let happen. This would happen if Noctis went alone on his journey as well, so that's why he has the support of his friends
It's like they want to remind us this used to be FFXIII Versus and make us remember that one trailer in which Noctis was sitting on the throne, fighting the Imperial army.
