Very tricky!! Can get congested in seconds! But it's so spread out it's many ways to get everywhere so it just depends what area your kind when. A million people in the city plus others driving thru or visiting, working, playing, staying.
Ah my old home town. I used to live off exit 31 from interstate 465. And this drive is not too far to get to i 65. This route is a straight shot to ohio as well
Driving through Indianapolis is so nice! Too bad when I was there with my family in December 2022, I-65 was closed due to the construction of the North Split, so we couldn't see it. After we missed the exit to I-465 West on our way back to Chicago, we took the I-70 and the Sam Jones Expressway, seeing downtown. Roads were phenomenal throughout.
you must not have made it to the east side on I70 towards the Ohio border... that stretch is horrific with all the broken and roached roadway when i went through there back in May'23
@@efil4kizumIt’s getting repaved though, uneven concrete slabs on richmond lol. half of I-70 east got repaved. However I-65, I-74 are one of the smoothest in the country lol. Love I-74 until you hit the illinois border then your car just starts shaking heavily and sounding like bombs in Danville, Illinois.
Liked your drive. I drove back and forth from 39 exit to downtown on 70 for 15 years. I liked the amount of traffic you dealt with. I was in a lot more traffic. Thanks for sharing
Could a story be done on Indianapolis' road network? I've heard some proposed freeways not get built as well as US highways inside I-465 just "fall off the map".
INDot has rerouted all of the Federal and State routes onto I-465 around Indy, On the southeast side, it carries eight different routes (soon to be nine with I-69).
I remember driving on I 70 when a storm was coming in. You could see all the lightning in the distance. It was a very intense storm though. It brought isolated tornados, from what I remember it was a multi cellular storm
This I have driven many times, dating to moving my late sister to Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1976, and to visit at Fort Belvoir/DC through 2012. It has been under construction (and reconstruction) for most all of the 21st Century. Much better than it used to be, especially at the 465 interchanges.
Tires really take a beating! I have seen worse than those on 70. Killer when it jars the camera. I always don't feel right with passing on someone's right, even in multiple lanes. (Except with Northern Virginia or DC in the rearview mirror. Then its everyman for themselves!) cool video Mike ! Best regards chuck
Indiana has/had horrible expansion joints on and off bridges. They appeared to be a 12-inch gap in the concrete filled with asphalt. Looks like the joints in the new interchange with I-65 might be different. INDOT also diamond grinded the pavement on the westside of town a few years ago, which is a huge improvement from when I went through there in 2018.
One of the most poorly constructed boondoggle projects is the Black Hole when I70 goes into Indy. Ironic that the city famous for hosting one of the premier motor races in the world can't construct a proper beltway to save its life. One can only imagine the corruption and graft that caused the mess. Ghost exits, roads going nowhere, exits dropping motorists off into the slums, incredible.
Is this a joke? If you really been to Indiana, you wouldnt be saying all these positive things about that damn bumpy ass road. I bet all them tire shops and mechanics are making more money than doctors. Sh.t.🤔
Nice ride through Indianapolis along interstate 70 west
Nice drive. This is one of the videos I’ve been waiting on for quite some time
Of all the highways in the Indianapolis area, I feel like I-70 has changed the most in the past 30 years.
I love Indianapolis! Hardly ever ran into traffic when I was there for work .
Yeah traffic there is pretty light compared to most large cities.
Very tricky!! Can get congested in seconds! But it's so spread out it's many ways to get everywhere so it just depends what area your kind when. A million people in the city plus others driving thru or visiting, working, playing, staying.
I've never seen any traffic through most of Indiana, even the bigger cities
You've never been through the I-465/I-865 interchange, or the south portion of I-465, or the I-69/I-465 interchange then.
Ah my old home town. I used to live off exit 31 from interstate 465. And this drive is not too far to get to i 65. This route is a straight shot to ohio as well

5:11 stretch 5:27 ... i do not consider this stretch phenomenal! this is seriously bad in disrepair

LMAO. Indiana is the chip and seal state.

True...and those US highways were just rerouted onto the 465 loop.
Wonderful City.

Im back in Kentucky now but got to live there in 2018 for 10 months enjoyed it
Wonderful huge place.
Home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
And many other things!! Everything
Now known as I-465.

I love this naptown baby !!!
Nutn like it!!!

@@MarcBookProThe bridges with the concurrency with I-65/I-70 and where the bridges were reconstructed are pretty smooth!
I knew yous were at I70 and post road when I seen the guy walking on the side of the expressway
Awesome video of this
Nice Rice my friend it seems they finish rebuild a new bridge.
11:47 That IN 267 shield is an error as it has now been relinquished south of I-74.
i think they use that pavement in spots that seriously reduces road noise from the tires?

Indy!
Nap Baby!! Same place!!
I took that interstate to go to Louisville
22:03 Mooresville!!
Congratulations 😂
I-70 East of the Indianapolis area is unacceptably rough.
12:30 , 12:55 , 13:35 , 13:45 , 14:09 FDOT pavement in Indiana
Before INDOT diamond grinded the concrete on this section, the entire roadway sounded like FDOT concrete, not just the bridges.
Outside of downtown Indy is country.
It looks like a lot of highways with very few cars.
Dont forgot to get Post RD
Many roads!!!!!
It appears that's where he got on.
