  • I have been working to modify my Ender 5 Plus 3D printer's carriage from Creality's stock to something of my own design. It allows me to more easily swap out the printer stuff and replace it for other tooling concepts down the road, such as the plotter shown here. I'm a big proponent of at-home manufacturing and hope to build on this concept of self-sufficien.
    This upgrade was done only with a 3D printer, a power drill, and a vice grip... nothing particularly exotic to the household maker. My hope is that this can create a path for other things to be possible down the road... "things making things"... heh.

    I just upgraded mine to a mercury 1.1. So worth the upgrade. Nice video!

      Oh, wow, I haven't heard of Mercury 1.1 before - what a polished project! Definitely on the wishlist to convert the E5+ to CoreXY, but I think I am more interested in increasing its build volume in the immediate future. Thank you for the kind words!
