She is sleeping with Effie. You see them I move the camera to them. SHhe is cuddled into Effie, your see her little hand hanging down. This was last Monday. I'm going this afternoon to video some more. The other video has her playing outside next to Effie. The video was taken later the same day.
In my other videos. She was asleep with her mum when I took this video. You can see her little hand dangling down next to Effies head! She is well and happy.
@@lindseygillum3722yes, within 4 hours. Please know that there are people out there who are saying things are a fact when they don't know anything. I spoke to the zoo on the 5th August. They explained that they were watching Alika closely. She is at a stage where she needs to learn how to be an adult and a mum. Without this experience she might not manage to be a mum at all. Gernot is also learning through his interaction with the babies, so it is an important time for all. Alika was not trying to hurt the baby at all. She was very rough and she has a lot to learn but every single adult in the troop were watching her. Gorillas communicate through sounds, grunts and body language. When a gorilla is stressed or angry they show it with the mouth and the bareing of teeth. Alika did not show any body language that indicated aggression. If she was trying to hurt the baby she is strong enough to rip it apart. The baby wasn't hurt in any way. I do think she was very scared and that is horrible to know. Since that episode I have not seen Alika with Venus. Venus sticks very closely to Effie and watches where Alima is all the time. So does Effie. The zoo do have ways to intervene if they needed to but even then they don't need to take the baby away. It would be far more detrimental to the whole group and to Venus. The keepers would intervene by 4 hours because she needs to sleep and feed but she hasn't had her for 4 hours. The troop have managed the situation before that. Even Mjukuu who is Alikas mum would take the baby away if she was concerned. Kiburi was also watching the baby. The video didn't give us information about the whole situation. What took place before and after. Where was everyone? Since then I have not witnessed Venus with anyone other than Effie. She remains bright and inquisitive. She is incredibly strong. The zoo manager told me that even these little babies would be a match for an adult human female. They are incredibly strong. If you still have concerns regarding the situation please can I ask you to email or phone the zoo as I am not affiliated with them. I have paid for my yearly membership so I have no reason to back the zoo if I thought they were not looking after the troop. They certainly know far more than me. Lastly, the thing I struggled with in that video was that I didn't know if Alika had the baby because Effie had rejected her. That was really worrying which is why I contacted and spoke to the zoo. Personally I would hope if I had witnessed the situation I wouldn't post it without the facts but that is just me. I do think it must have been awful and traumatising to have had to watch it happen and not understand why it was allowed to happen. That is something I want to push. The zoo are experts, they don't own the gorillas, they look after them for an organisation. I should think they are very valuable in money terms as well as conservation terms. They would not put these animals in the care of people who do not know what they are doing. Accidents happen in zoos because they work with wild animals but accidents happen with humans as well. These gorillas are looked after and loved and we have to trust them and not believe a short video gives us all the information to have a clear picture of real life. This is all my opinion and I really want to move on from the video. I didn't take the video, it has noting to do with me. Please comment and if you have concerns from any of my videos please do let me know as well as contacting the zoo. I just don't have any say on someone else video except my opinion which I know some people don't like. But hopefully everyone can move on and watch these wonderful babies grow. I hope that helps and I apologise if you don't agree. Thank you for watching 😊
I'm sorry you feel sad for the baby. She appeared to be bright and inquisitive inquisitive when I saw her. If you have any questions, I can try to answer to put your mind at rest. Please do ask. Thank you for watching the video.

Did they remove Alika? Poor baby Effie was so mistreated by her.
