    I have an FPV proposal. There is nothing more cool than landing FPV. It heightens the experience because things are happening, and the ground is coming up, and it is total immersive experience. Here is the proposal: FPV landing with PAPI lights that shoots the landing decent approach. PAPI lights would give you the proper glide descent angle. I have not yet seen any youtubers make a PAPI light FPV landing approach video. I just think that would be so neat.
    =====
    I personally have not flown rc in 20 years, but I am looking at the turbo timber with its flaps and slats and I want to do FPV touch and go.By the way, PAPI lights are not hard to make. It doesn’t even have to be a ‘light’ It can just be visible white and red paint that is half covered (ie the red is covered up at a certain visual angle and the white at another angle). PAPI lights.
    =====
    So, what do you think? Would you ever consider a PAPI light landing FPV video? Thx.

      Thanks for the idea but I am not sure how I'd make small portable lights that would be bright enough and large enough to be seen. Thanks for the idea though... Happy flying

    iNav seems to be getting better and better! And it's not that complicated either.
    Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    I changed back to INAV 3.0.2 after 4.0 continually gave me the message "Pitch/Roll not centered" and would not arm. I tried all sorts of remedies; centered throws to 1500, etc.. 3.0.2 is successful as it is less sensitive to this parameter.

      @@Painless360 Channel order? On the AR Wing Pro-- 1. Throttle, 2. Aileron, 3. Elevator, 4. Rudder, 5. Arm, 6. Mode1 (Horizon, Manual, Aero), 7. Mode2 (Aero, PosHold, RTH), 8. Autotune. Looking at another one of your tutorials, I noticed you reduced the ends to +/- 98% on the TX16s. I'll try that next, but would not think it differs between the revisions. Thanks!

    Hi Lee. Hope all is well there. Your inav series is awesome. (as well as all you other series). I have never flown with it and have been using a Kopilot so far. Now I have a Matek F411 wse and have started to configure it out of the plane. It had 2.6 and I have flashed it to 3.0.2. Now that I found this video I am looking at flashing to 4.? When I look at supported boards the 411 is not listed but on 4.0.0 RC1 it is. Will 4.0.0 work or use the rc1? Thanks in advance. Jeff

    THXS...Lee FOR ALL! I have the 2020 version, 2.1.6 and I think they just released 4.1 if I'm not sure... My question is if I should update my old version to the latest because I'm afraid that my parameters will be misconfigured and start again, to learn that it has been an odyssey for me. I have a wing AR 900 with Matek F405 with nice flights. Thanks again.

    How do you set or change the PID loop or flight loop time frequency / value?
    By default the loop time is set to 500 and the range is between 0-9000.
    In that case, if I want to set my PID loop frequency to be 4KHz what am I supposed to do?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 года назад +1

      High looptimes while using slow devices like GPS on stuff like F4 based flight controllers is tricky. Sounds like you are coming from Betaflight. I don't worry about that on quads. My advice would be to look at INAV as something completely different. From INAV 3.0 release notes: "Gyro is always processed as fast as possible without jitter and PID loop follows. In general, looptime configuration is no longer required" Best of luck

    start with arduplane or Inav first? I have dabbled in arduplane but mission planner ui is just kind of slow to use and double check you have everything configured right. Inav seems like you can zip around the menus easier. Stick with it? or try out inav?

      It depends on what you want and what you already know as INAV will feel similar to Betaflight users. ruclips.net/video/ZwCLdkjqM-Y/видео.html covers the differences and when I use each software..

      @@Painless360 well I haven't tried swapping the rx tx because I soldered them on and has worked previously. My troubleshooting was changing baut.. changing from ublox to test the others to no avail. The NMEA selection blue light my GPS indicator in configurator but no sats listed and it kept timing out, turning red and then back blue in configurator. I even tried the new candidate 3 because I heard it fixed someone's problem, but mine persists. I meddled around with some cli GPS commands(turning on and off random things) I found with -get GPS. But nothing seems to work. I heard in the discord someone say it's enabled through cli commands only in the new inav. But Idk man I can't find it I guess. Or perhaps he was mistaken. 🤷‍♂️

    I’m coming back to RC after a long hiatus. I’m seeing a lot of different radios out now. When I left, JR and Futuba were the main players with Spektrum coming on strong. What are the best transmitters out there now?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 года назад +1

      Sounds like you left as I started to get into the hobby. Those proprietary radios are still about and many pilots love and use them. Lots of pilots now use the cheaper Opentx/EdgeTX powered radios from newer vendors like RadioMaster, Jumper and Frsky but the quality is no where near those older brands (but they also cost a fraction too). One of the few new radios that is almost as good in terms of quality is the Frsky X20. Check out my Kit Picks 2020 video for my choices. Best of luck

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 года назад +1

      INAV or a Kopilot are the two options I'd suggest you look at for RTH modes. If you want all that OSD goodness then INAV is the way to go. See my INAV for Beginners 2020 series for all the steps..
      The TX12 only works with a limited set of receivers that you can find listed on the pages of resellers. They work with Texas Instruments CC2500: Corona, Hitec, Futaba S-FHSS, Frsky D16/D8, RadioLink, Graupner HoTT so if your existing receivers are one of those, it should work.
