I got a story for you Dave! I did it! Sold the house, bought some vacant land in the UP. Youve been an absolute inspiration! Its taken a few years but the planets finally aligned just right enough to make my move. In a previous video, you said, "I don't have ___, but I have land" You have no idea how hard those words hit home. I'll never forget that comment! In a short time, cabin will be built, but for now I'm clearing the living space by hand just bcuz of the freedom I feel. Picked up a wall tent. Its amazing, by the way! Ect ect ect!! Would have preferred to send you an email but to keep it brief, I have to say "thank you"! Your videos have dramatically influenced a strangers dreams!! I salute you brother!! Love the video! If you have ever sat by a campfire and talked with friends and family you know how comforting this video is to me. It's raining and snowing in Michigan today so it is a perfect time to spend around Dave's campfire!
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent Dave! I could listen to you all afternoon! Your tales of adventure are epic! 'Thank you for sharing them with us! Liz from Ontario, Canada
As someone who lives in a chaotic city- these videos from you and your wife are life savers for me. You’re both so gifted at so much more than cabin building. 🙏🏼
I've been watching you for 2 years now, I live in Minnesota and I have built a couple of small cabins just like you. And I really inspire your videos, everytime I get that notification on my phone that bushradical posted another video I'm excited to sit back and enjoy. Thanks for everything you do, I'm sure you love ur job!
Thanks Dave for the great stories. You have a natural way of telling your stories, it keeps us intrigued. It would be fun to do more of these I know you have at least a thousand great stories to tell. As a kid I hung out with my grandpa and his buddies. They would tell stories from the olden days, the big war etc... Tonight I realized I missed hearing those stories. So please do this again. Stories by the Fire. I'm sure there our a lot of us fans that would partake. God Bless
So great, Dave! What a wonderful way to turn a simple brush burning chore into fun for thousands! I love campfire tales under the stars, really any gathering of folks around the kitchen table, story telling at libraries, any chance to share tales of your life or family stories is just such a gift. I can't believe you've only been at this for five years! You're videos are beautifully made and the content is always informative and a treat. Thanks, its been a pleasure. 😊
Being a fellow Michigander, your stories really strike accord with me, I love em! You make me miss the old Michigan I once knew as a kid growing up there. Not easy to do, at age 59, way too cold and cloudy for me now but love the stories.
I was lost in the woods once when I was a kid. I was about 12 and my grandma lived out in the middle of nowhere in Arkansas. When our family went to visit, I'd spend all day in the woods. There was a decent sized creek that ran through it, but the nearest neighbor on the other side was probably 15-20 miles since the paper company owned all of it. One day, I went out early, crossed the stream and went in search of an old, grown up road that used to be part of the Trail of Tears. I had hiked there with my parents, and I knew roughly where it was. (I'd say it was a good 5 mile hike, at least). I found the road no problem, but coming back I decided to take a detour to find the remains of a house that had burned about 50 years before. Didn't find the house, so I started back towards my grandma's. ..at least I thought I did. I probably walked another 2-3 miles w/o seeing any landmarks I recognized. Finally, I stopped, having no idea where I was. All my senses were pointing forward, but I knew I should have been back by then. The only thing I knew to do was to find the creek. I turned around and walked until at last, I heard water. I knew which direction the creek ran, but it was running the wrong way from the direction I thought I was going! Against all my senses, I turned and started walking upstream. I finally got back to my grandma's. It was a good lesson of how easy it is to get turned around. I always carried a compass w/ me after that.
I could sit around a bon fire and listen to your stories all night. You have lived a very adventurous life and your videos you bring us on your journey's and am glad you started this channel.
This was awesome! I feel like storytelling is a lost art! Thank you Dave for sharing these educational, funny & scary times that you experienced! You & Brooke are so entertaining! So happy you both are on you tube!!!🤗

Thank you for this video Dave!! These stories are great. I can relate to them all. You should get your brother to tell the beach swim story from his perspective LOL
I'm a MI girl and your channel has been a favorite of mine for years now, along with your wifes channel. Both so grounded and level headed. The world needs more people like you and your wife!! Love listening to your stories, never stop making videos!
Back in the late 60's I hitch-hiked up to Alaska, down to Kenai and up to Fairbanks and back to Northern California, I was 18. I have never before met such genuinely nice people. Rich people want to tell you about their trip to Europe and all the great cities they stayed at. I earned my great adventure the hard way.
Hey Dave,I loved this video man. I was laughing my butt off at the first one and could've sat here in my chair listening to your fireside stories all night long. Thank you and God bless my brother.
Awesome stories Dave! I was sitting right beside you at that campfire, totally enthralled with your experiences! We all thank God that he created you and Brook to allow us “wanna-bes” to live vicariously through your experiences!
I remember that a little differently lol. I remember you yelling back its up to your armpit just keep going . that was a great trip that I'll always remember. I lost half of my fishing pole in that swim. and the bear trails in the brush that was wild!
LOL, "the older you get the more you forget to remember what you should recall......you fill in the blanks in your memory with things that may not have happened at all....." Da Yoopers.
This was really neat. Just hanging out with you and listening to your stories. Well done and very calming. You Sir should make videos telling stories. Perfect setting at night in front of a nice warm fire. Please do more like this. Really enjoyed it.🔥🤗
This seems like a very pleasant way to spend an evening. Just sitting around a fire telling and listening to stories. Thank you for sharing your stories. You told them well.
Love the campfire story time. I need a hot chocolate and a nice fire to go with it. Would love to see you AND Brooke do something like this too. You guys are fun to watch - together and individually 😃 You're a good storyteller my friend 😄 Thank you!!

Hello from Wisconsin! Those were some awesome stories Dave! You and Brooke are so inspiring and you should know that both of your voices are very calming, add some nature to it and you've got yourself a great video!
Wow - stories 'round the campfire. This is a classic and a wonderful piece for the memories stack. I love it, you could feel the warmth of the fire while listening to the adventures! Thanks for sharing! 🥰😎
This video brought back so many memories of my dad dabbling in photography and we would have slide show movie nights. Really great times! Thanks for sharing your stories with us!
I agree with you about getting lost. Ive also got lost in the woods and on water....You never forget that feeling. Never went out without a compass again!
I love campfire stories! Many young memories UpNorth (Thunder Bay-Lake Huron) @ the Hunting Cabin 4 miles 2-track trail… “poking sticks & telling lies” is what the hunters called it. My parents are from Mio/Fairview (where most of my family lives), but I was born and raised in the Irish Hills (Southern Michigan-near Michigan Int’l Speedway). Lived in Seattle for about 5 years and experienced a lot of outdoor activities (riding my horse in the mountains). Always found my way back to Michigan! Always wondered my love for the outdoors was influenced by my parents very rural upbringing (especially my dad being raised in his Amish Gpa’s house his first 8 years of life). Dad calls UpNorth “God’s Country.”
Thanks for doing what you do Dave, your video's are awesome, may God continue to bless you and Brooke and keep you healthy and free to live your amazing lives.
Such fun and interesting campfire stories! Its so neat to know how you got your start. Just love your channel and content!!! Brooke's too! You're both so inspiring to me!

I remember the massive Thomas fire and mudslides in SantaBarbara. Fire department was incredible. Many were disappointed how the Sheriffs deputies got a kick out of treating the residents like garbage. Closest thing I’ve ever seen to martial law, well…until the recent “event”.
When Dave drops a video I drop everything and tune it.
Thanks
