Thank you Chris. I am finally seeing some light (pun intended) after doing while watching this video. Your video showed me how to stack the best images from my 212 andromeda lights via gathered from the S50. I now need to figure out which of the many methods available to get rid of some of what I believe is color banding without destroying the galaxy in the process. Very valuable demonstration on how to not include undesirable fit files and I figured I would change the reference image to a good one somewhere in the middle of the sequence. ). Thanks again for your instructional videos.
Great tutorial, I prefer your manual stacking method. Following along with your tutorial, reading your process steps, it is missing steps A thru E. If possible, would you mind sharing these please. Thanks!
I followed all the step up to registration but when I clicked that tab, the "go register" link is grayed out and not active, like I need to select something else first. Your video does not show that. Any ideas why?
Hi Chris. I have watched another longer video and I have transcribed both. Because your voice is soft I have to replay to get information. I have failed to get those three folders in this video - you show the jpeg, the Stacked fit files with the Siril logo and the Series of sub exposures. I managed to save a jpeg file into documents but it is poor when I open it into Siril. Do you have another video showing how I get those three folders to exist? I so want to try a few of my images. Thank you.
After stacking, it shows the final stacked image in autostretch mode. However, when I try to save it as a .png file, I get that warning message that it will be saved in linear mode. Is there anyway to save the stacked image in autostretch mode? If so, how? If not, why not?
I'm getting a lot of failed files when I register. Siril says something about there not being enough stars. I have over 800 subs of M97, but it's only registering 200 of them. Any thoughts?
Great tutorial. I'm getting an error "Bayer pattern found in header (grbg) is different from Bayer pattern in settings (RGGB)...." Any thoughts on this?
So when I select the .fit files and name the batch and debayer and start processing. I get multiple messages on the side running menu that says "Bayer pattern found in header (GRBG) is different from Bayer pattern in settings (RGGB). Overriding settings." I did everything exactly the way he did and i still get this message mulitple times . Any recomendations
@@tarbat Thank you - it was hiding towards the right of the screen - I did not see the small arrow advising me to drag towards the left to make it viewable

Chris has a video called "Processing a Seestar FITS file in Siril". He talks about the banding in that one 12.03 minutes

I'm yet another grateful person thanking you for this very useful video. Clear Skies mate.
Thanks Chris, straightforward and helpful, now for post-processing my first capture with the SeeStar, NGC 2244.
Nice, easy to follow. Can't wait to get my Seestar so I can follow along.
Really useful. Would have been lost without it.
You are awesome, keep it up!
Thank you for this tutorial. Has helped me a ton!!!!!
Thanks for the video. It helps me a lot. Unfortunately, the volume of your explanation is very low.
Again thanks for the video lots of good information and will practice a few times .
Thanks so much, this is excellent!
in my sub file seems to be equal amount of jpeg files to doc files, do I add all jpegs with doc files.
Thank you!!! This helped a lot!

I ran into this as well. Siril defaulted to the 1-2-3 registration. Change the default to global registration...much better results.
Do you plug the scope into your PC with a usb cable to access those files?
I use PS to process but it won't open Fit files. Also if I convert fit to tiff I lose 90% of the image...not sure why.
I've followed your video & siril rejects all but 1 of my frames. Any ideas?

Excellent Video, but please work on the sound/microphone. Cheers

You’ll need to then follow my other tutorial on processing your stacked image in Siril.

Try a different registration method, such as 1-2-3 stars registration.

Check the debayer settings in Siril.
So when I select the .fit files and name the batch and debayer and start processing. In Siril preferences, change the default debayer pattern
Thanks...Do you find manual stacking makes that big of a difference vs what you get from the internal stacking?
About a 15% improvement in average FWHM, so slightly sharper image.
trying to follow this tutorial but unfortunately I am on v1.2.1 and I don't see the option to Convert - do I need to see if I can reload v1.2.0?
I'm now on v1.2.1, and the "Conversion" tab is definitely there. You should see 7 tabs.

can you please get a better microphone
Yes, it's very hard to hear you even with my volume cranked up all the way.
