Sudden death. That's how it is with discus. Might be of genetics, might be of parasites...might be because you had a bad day and the fish was sensing that...😅 or it might be because of water parameters who knows...
Almost wish breeders would breed the hardiest discus with the hardiest instead of breeding them for the best colour morphs and so on, maybe they already do idk
This happened in the space of just over 1 hour. If it happens again I'll be ready. Salt dip seems the best option but the stress of that might finish him off quicker. Tricky.

I wouldn't go any higher temp then 82. Too high temp can cause this or too much salt, or ph, do you know what ur ph is at? Do u add salt to your tank? @@discus.switch

Its fully automated . One time i added some neon tetras from local store it had itch parasite. Except few discus whole tank got wash out. Still now iam in guilt for the death of so many wonderful fishes😢😮

None of the comments mentioned about the substrate...Have anyone of you wondered why top breeders of discus have bare bottom tank for breeding as well as show? Substrate are the worst enemies to all fishes bcoz its closed system and lot of bacteria trap in them which change gh,ph over time especially with water changes, when the fish feels that it gets sick...put all the discus in bare bottom tank and see how they behave...just few driftwood is enough for discus...
I'm assuming he was overwhelmed by flukes but 1 hour before this didn't really show any symptoms so flukes doesn't add up for me. Has only happened to my two eruptions. Highly bred fish, maybe a bit more delicate, note sure.

I'll take the serum cichlid every single day of the week over these... At least the serum can be mixed with others and be safe
Discuss is not strange fish, it is human ignorance. Don’t put any sand or gravel or substrate in your tank. The fish may accidentally swallow sand or swallowed contaminated waste inside of of it. The best substrate in your tank is a bare glass floor, it is allowing the filter so do it job probably by sucking in all the waste particles into it. So the best substrate in your tank is a filter and the best way to break down fish waste is to wash your filter at least once a month.
The discus expert that bred this fish believes this is organ failure. The sand and dirtiest that comes with that would effect all the fish. But they are all fine.
Overpriced & overrated fish; give them perfect conditions and they still die for unknown reasons. Waste of money and time. Never again. All of my other fish in my aquariums are happy and healthy.
Yes, I know he's sick, and he died, not long after this happened. And I am educated enough to know when a fish is sick. The warning I'm trying to provide for others is that he appeared completely fine 2 hours before this happened. Feel free to share your knowledge of what he is sick with however.
I didnt wonder this. I have changed an number of things to make feeding cleaner and this hasnt happened again. They have also had a large and extended fluke treatment. Hopefully it wont happen again.

They don’t die for no reason… they are extremely sensitive fish, so you need to know what you are doing and make everything perfect.

This fish died a few minutes after that video. You won't get white spot at 30 degrees, not other fish was ill or effected. Still can't explain it.

Tried that and theres something in it if you want an easy to keep tank. But I didnt like it and these can be kept with a substrate.

Parasites, bacteria and stress are their worst enemies. You can easily get a k ock on effect if it goes out of balance and things can decline quickly.
