Some of this footage is absolutely heartbreaking. Of all the dreadful and at times unspeakable acts committed by the European colonialists in Africa, those by the Belgians were perhaps the very worst. It is said that 10 million Congolese were killed during Leopold 11’s reign. 10 million! That places him alongside Hitler, Stalin and Mao Zedong as among the most despicable leaders in history, responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people.

His death was the ultimate death of Congo, the country had a God sent leader who was killed before he could even start to help the country recover from the heartbreaking unspeakable acts committed by Belgians among other Western Nations. The same still happens today, but behind the curtains.

As if apologies justify decades of humiliation, rape and torture of thousands of people. Lumumba and his fellow mates were, before, murdered, tortured for days, until they couldn't move a singel finger. What a shameful page of modern hinstory, and of course Lumumba should have never asked the Soviet Union for help, of course. Of course?

No, they ruled themselves just fine before the white man took over. After that when they got their freedom they did have a hard time ADJUSTING TO THE WAYS THAT THE WHITE MAN WANTED THEM TO GOVERN THEMSELVES.
