Repeating the same answers over and over again in press conferences is not as comical when you don't have Brady
His podium fuckery is what annoys me the most. You can get away with it when you win but at this point he just comes across as an asshole for no reason. This is on him, and he should know that. He fielded this team since he’s the GM as well as the coach. Ultimately all on him.
That's the most frustrating thing. It's like "how dare you question me?" Which is fine when you're winning Super Bowls or even competing to a level where you'll be in playoff contention. It isn't so funny when you are one of the worst teams in the league. I'm not calling for Bill's head but I think Kraft has a big call to make when it comes to the GM position.

When Mac Jones is not on the field, he is sitting there, basically by himself staring straight ahead. He’s never walking around screaming at guys trying to fire them up, and other guys are not trying to come to him either. Most of the team just stands around quietly. This team doesn’t care about each other and seemingly does not care if they win or lose, and I believe that is the really the biggest problem with the Patriots.

As a Pats fan... Belichick has to be the most overrated coach in sports. After four years, I think the "Who was it Brady or Belichick" question has been answered pretty clearly. He is 72-79 without Brady as his starting QB, doesn't seem like he can motivate the team in my opinion, and hasn't drafted well for over a decade. How do you argue against it??

I don’t know that I would say they got out coached. The team is just bad. They have virtually no production from all of their skill positions. They can’t run, so they can’t open up play action. But then they also can’t pass at all. It’s a perfect storm of everything bad happening at once. It’s definitely on bill, but I don’t think any coach can make this team a winner. They just don’t have any talent.

It’s simply time for Bill to retire. If you take a look at the rest of the league and how other rosters are built, it’s clear the game has passed him by. And at age 71, he’s not going to change.

The great point is that with a QB the team can have confidence in, the harder the team will work because they know they will always have a chance of winning. It seems everyone on the Patriots this year has already thrown in the towel.

The problem is purely, purely, lack of personnel. Their 2 best players Judon and Gonzo are gone. Bill never addressed the OLine or receivers beyond bandaids. We have no players to trade of any value. Its ridiculous to say its "coaching", you don't have the talent to coach.
Bill has been inept at scouting, drafting and developing offensive college talent forever. This is nothing new. He builds teams as if he’s coaching in 1993. Any other GM with his track record would’ve been fired years ago.
This best QB for this roster that’s struggling is malik you need a playmaker.

Give him a real shot he has absolutely earned it. He isnt 2-0 and looked great last season for no reason. Just 2 bad quarters against chicago doesnt erase the fact that he had 4 great outings that includes that chicago game. He was soley the reason we got back in that game.

I agree. See what he has. What do you have to lose? Either way the team sucks. At least see what Malik can do, and while you're at it, trade Mac and maybe Parker for whatever you can get before the trade deadline (even if their value is dirt low.) Start next season with a top 5 pick, new coach and style of play, new QB, tons of cap space and for the love of God, a better OL. It will take a few years, but better this way than be a mediocre team for the next few seasons while the old man tries to break Shula's record.

Mac Jones is not an NFL level QB. Good in college, but not in the nfl. BB makes too many bad judgements in bringing in players. The team is always hurt. Too much. Traded away too many good veteran players. Never ever should have let Nick Folk go. At least you'd have some points on the board. Stupid decision. Let go of Meyers, let go of Shaq Mason. On and on. Wouldn't pay the same money paid to Juju to keep Meyers. Wouldn't pay for Hopkins. And it continues. They will lose a lot of good players for next season. It's over.
This Patriots roster clearly cannot win a playoff game much less get to or win a superbowl so why the hell shouldn't they tank. At this point you'd just be trying to win for pride or some damn wins record for Belichick which does NOTHING for the franchise. The Patriots should've tanked in 2020 when Trevor Lawrence was available now we have another opportunity to get a great prospect in Caleb Williams we cannot mess this up again.

Felger finally has a legit reason to flip out. That hasn't stopped him from bitching every day for a couple decades though.
an unfortunate way to close his career in New England. I hope he decides to walk away at the end of this season and not return to coach. I could see him getting a front office position somewhere else though and fizzling out of the spotlight next few years. The Patriots are gonna be under a lot of pressure to make some splashes this offseason though - thats for sure.

A guy like that can make things happen with the guys on this offense. This roster would look a thousand times better with a CaleB Williams if he's actually as good in the NFL as in college. Mac is just not elite
I couldn’t agree more with you that it would look better. What I’m saying is at this moment the whole roster is an issue. Bill refuses to address anything on offense. We had a huge need for tackle and WR going into the off-season. And we addressed neither. He was too cheap for dhop didn’t pull off a trade for jeudy or anyone else. Completely ignored tackle all together. Any good GM would have addressed these issues. Plenty of tackles were available in free agency and the draft.
I'd be happy with Drake Maye as well. What's scary about Caleb Williams is he's very short. How many 6'1" QB's have went on to have successful NFL careers? Drew Brees is one.@@zakn2494

A lot of people are making excuses for Mac Jones. No one wants to admit that the wrong decision was made when releasing cam for Mac. Cam did a lot more with a lot less. He won seven games while catching covid and joining a team a week before the season started.

The NE Patriots are washed, not Cam. If you have a team with no defense, no WRs, and no Offense of line, but wins 7 games and was competitive enough to almost make the playoffs. It takes a hell of QB to accomplish that. I keep hearing he's washed but the only evidence of being was when he played hurt

I personally think bill will get 1 more year. Last year there was still hope with mac Jones and changing the coordinator. This year we will end with 5-6 wins and that will give Kraft the green light to take personnel away from bill and hiring a new young and smart OC. If bill doesn’t want to give up the control, then a mutual leave will get done. Next year pats will have a whole lotta cap space and a high pick so a new promising qb will be available if mac doesn’t redeem himself. Either way i have faith for the future I don’t think we are due for 5+ years of losing. Talent is all over the defense when healthy, and offense in my opinion is just a #1 receiver, and a creative offensive scheme away from being great. Go pats.

I gotta say, as a Bucs fan i couldnt tell you the texts, calls and messages i got from Pats fans telling me "Bradys done, good luck blocking his none movable A$$, Bill made him, not the other way around"!!! As u can tell, Brady to me bailed out Bill to many damn times and in his first year got us a ring and had 3 of his best seasons ever, expect for the undefeated season. Bill is solid but without Brady, Pats are done and boy those same ppl dont have anytjing to say to me and my Bucs lol! We got an Hiesman at QB and still a super bowl defense and Pats look like a total mess! #FireThoseMFinCannons
Wow! A coach helps take a team to an unprecedented 9 Super Bowls winning 6 in 18 years and some want to send him to pasture? SOLUTION IS better scouting & Bill not “cheaply” paying for average players / O-Line “hoping” that an average QB can elevate them as only Brady could!! Look at the 49rs!
Zappe should at least get the entire week to prepare knowing he is the starter instead of throwing him in the 4th q.

I looked back at Belichick’s head coaching career, even from his days in Cleveland. This is his record with and without Brady, W:78 L: 90. I even included the one year Brady was out with injury. You are what your record says you are, and he’s an a-hole.
Start Mac the rest of the season. Then you will end all ideas of him being a starter unless he suddenly starts playing well. Bill is doing the right thing. Guys forget about Zappe. He is what he is - a small weak armed QB. The Patriots already know he isn't the answer. You get to see guys in practice - you don't always need to seem them in games to know they suck.
As for BB being fired. Well do it if that's what you want. I think it would be great for BB. He could join a new organization and because he could pick where he wanted to go - he could choose one with a good QB. I think the Chargers is a good landing spot for him. But I think we might get to find out.

The thing thats unfair about judging Mac Jones is that he was never expected to be a generational QB like a Trevor Lawrence. If you bring in a game manager, you have to have pieces around them. You can take away all the Mac Jones turnovers from the last 2 weeks. They still dont win those games

Years ago I always had that same feeling that someday he'd go back to the Giants where he learned his chops from Bill Parcells. Just like Brady moved on in life maybe it's Bills time as well. Football has always been this mans life, walking away probably isn't that easy. The longer this disaster continues the more it tarnishes his legacy. The Giants owners are 100% in on Daboll and Schoen. The thought of entertaining Belichick to come to NY has sailed long time ago. Now if Saleh continues to struggle would the Jets entertain bringing Bill in? My gut now tells me after Bills done with NE he's done with the NFL, but he'll always look at options to coach at any level.

It’s this horrendous this early in the season, with things only getting worse. We have the Bills and Dolphins coming up, who are much tougher than the Saints. I never would have thought Kraft would fire Bill, but what does he do if we just continuously get obliterated each Sunday? There’s 13 weeks left in the season, it’s too early for him to just write the season off completely

It's crazy to me as a Patriots fan and a Clemson fan, both of my teams fell off a cliff at the same time (and both were good at the same time), the same thing has now happened to both teams. They waited to long to adapt. Clemson has lost its recruiting prowess after several years of choking. They can't get the besr people to come anymore. The same goes for the Patriots back when Brady was there everyone wanted to play for the Patriots and they wanted to put in the work, now all we get are bums, bums that we overpay for. Our rebuild will need to come from the draft where players don't have a choice

It’s a qb league, if we had mahomes rodgers burrow or another top qb we’d be a contender. Mac Jones is a huge part of the problem, we need a great qb, only teams with great QBs win these days. Belichick would still be winning with a better qb. Also if Bill was able to switch to Jimmy G like he planned it would have been a much smoother transition. Kraft needs to stop meddling.

Wrong. It's an offensive line league. The most consistent thing in Patrick Mahomes career has been stellar offensive line play in front of him. When they got hurt he looked like a damn fool. You can win with mediocre QB's like Goff, Prescott and Hurts if you have a great offensive line.

Mac Jones is not just the worst NFL starter, but he's also a bad guy.
He's a terrible crybaby, blaming everyone else. A NFL quarterback cannot do that. He's an atrocious non leader, attacking coaches on national TV, while being terrible. Belichick should have traded him away to the worst situation possible. In addition to that, he was drafted several rounds too high, as a result of Belichick croneyism with Nick I have no idea what a quarterback is Saban.

Albert Breer totally missed the point that Greg was making. He was talking about offensive strategy on the first set of downs and Breer goes back to the lack of talent...we already know that...DUH
