i love watching people talk about their love of food and their craft, especially people that have a passionate speciality such as tofu. Fascinating and inspiring post. Thx!
There's nothing like the taste of fresh, warm tofu right after it's made. I Worked in two tofu factories in my life. The first was Youpon Soy Food outside of Austin, in Elgin Texas, run by Chico Wagner. It was a traditional Japanese style soy factory. My job was to pour the nigari into the soy milk, paddle it in and then scoop the curds out. My husband, David, was the tofu surgeon. He trimmed the edges after it came out of the press. This was probably the first tofu sold at Whole foods when it began in Austin in 1984. The second factory was at the Gaskin Farm in Summertown Tennessee. It was the opposite, a very modern operation with stainless steel and electronics.
@feebaysocute Yes, I know they get payed, this is no a complaint or anything, is just that the ad kept stopping and I had to reupload the page twice to get through to the video itself and be able to watch it, but the video was worth all that hassle. I know RUclips and partners have to earn money from these or else RUclips would not be able to survive, I think it is fine.
i'm really curious to try some good, fresh tofu, as i'm sure what i had till now is not exactly the greatest product... i mean, take a look at this guy's skin! the japanese sure eat better than most vegans, raw and vegetarians out there... very good vid, thanks for posting!
Hi everyone, I am student who is researching about tofu waste especially the liquid waste what treatment do they actually did, in my country lots of people throw it to river because it was very expensive to build a "waste management to catch the methane gas"
pfffttt.... gosh the arrogance.... there plenty of bean curd skins of good quality around... he just went to the wrong places.... as if this is new....
