    HAPPY CUSTOMER!
    I ordered this directly through your main man right here. He was very responsive and took the time to answer some questions I had. Now that I have it installed here’s what potential buyers should know.
    1) Even though the valves default to closed when the car shuts off you can hop in, turn key to get the oil readout and while waiting on that open the valve. You WILL get a beautiful throaty cold start with open valves.
    2) The shop I went to routed the transmitter up in the front trunk not the rear. They said likely the spot Soul suggests to install it will be too hot and degrade the device over time.
    3) From a local shop charging $170/hour in SoCal it took them 3 hours to complete totaling $510 for the install.
    4) I have my secondary cats removed. With valves open it is extremely loud, essentially straight pipe loud. Lots of cracks and burbles on downshifts come to a stop. Absolutely amazing.
    5) because the new exhaust pipes face downward you can expect a lot of drone and cabin rattle everywhere regardless the rpm. The sound hits the ground then comes right back up through the frame. The drone/bass is really insane at low rpm below 3,300rpm.
    6) the valves seem to need a “seat in” time. I assume to heat cycle and build up carbon because my valves do not fully close until the cars completely warmed up. Hopefully this fixes itself within 30 days or so.
    7) You finally truly sound like a boxer engine. It has a deep growl like Subaru boxers but after 4K rpm starts to refine and sound euro but no doubt, this does not sound like a 2.7L engine it’s throaty as heck.
    8) Yes it gives me a thousand dollar smile every time I drive but my anxiety is through the roof. Cali cops hate loud exhausts so I’m 100% bound to get ticketed eventually. I’ve already been thinking of things to say since you can switch the valve back on. Exhaust leak sounds probable lol
    RECOMMENDED! If you want a super loud obnoxious exhaust but only when you want it, and still have the option to go back to mostly stock than this is for you. I’d wager if you still have the secondary cats it won’t be so insane like mine is. It’s truly straight piped, so I’d you’re not into that don’t get the secondary cats removed keep them and this should be quite a bit more tame.

    Another detailed video. After watching this, I would just remove that bracket where you are attaching the vacuum solenoid and either mount it to where the bracket was removed (2 bolts at the bottom of the bracket that hold it to the engine case), or - if there is room - to the bolt that supports the air intake "muffler box" just to the rear of the bracket. I've removed my muffler box, and plugged it, so on my car, the bracket really doesn't serve a purpose any more unless you are supporting the engine from the top. Call it weight savings :D

    I have experimented in past of homemade versions and found the torque at low revs dropped substantially - especially on low capacity engines (2.5/2.7). The PSE is the best option because of this as it still routes some of the bypass into the exhaust to keep up the torque. Also tends to drone if bypass does not go through any tuned tubes. But worth a ping if you don’t mind! also bear in mind the heat build up under the bumper.

    • @HelpMeDIY
      @HelpMeDIY  Год назад

      +Voiceofreason99ify this one also allows some of the bypass into the muffler. You can see it in the clips. I’ve heard with a tune and the exhaust I could actually pick up 20HP but haven’t confirmed that at all.

    Question about this installation. Since Boxster have ‘dummy’ switches, is it possible to hook up the solenoid to a Boxster on and off switch, thus illuminating the antena switch (and fobs that eventually one will loose). Think it might be kinda cool to have a switch on the dash for this installation.

      The bypass pipes themselves would end up going right where the factory valve location is on the OEM sports exhaust. The right way to do it would be to get a used OEM non sports muffler and put that on in combination with our valved muffler bypass pipes. That’ll do the trick
