  • Welcome!
    In today's video I’m decorating my porch for spring. I'm using flowers (lots of perennials) that I can transplant out into my garden beds once I’m ready to change out these containers for summer annuals. In my area (zone 7a), that usually isn’t until May, so I’ve got a good month and a half with these flowers here on the porch. 🌸
    I also refresh my containers by emptying out the old soil and replacing it with fresh potting mix. Since I’ve got the containers empty, it also presents a great opportunity to run the drip lines up through the center of each container rather than along the sides as they currently are. It just makes for a cleaner look. I’ll be doing this to all of my other containers around my garden as I replace their soil later on this season. 🌱
    My husband and I really want to incorporate more water sounds around our property so I’m also turning a planter into a container fountain. I’m crossing my fingers it doesn’t leak! 💦
    For the container plantings, I love using a combination of textures and elements. I used my flowers of course but I also scrummaged around for different branches, wood, decorative moss, and even a few tumbleweeds that blew into my yard. I think it’s fun and adds interest! Fairy lights are the icing on the cake! ✨
    I love decorating my porch. I hope you enjoy the video!
    Thanks for stopping by!

      I’ve actually gone back and watched that little hug a few times. She’s so sweet and I’m so happy to have captured that little moment. Thank you! The fountain is still working nicely and I just love any excuse to use fairy lights. 😊

    I live on 80 acres in WI! I noticed your milk can. I have a big collection of antique farm items to decorate my 8 flower gardens. I actually have a antique milk can cart, very hard to find, took me 18 mos. to find. I love all my items. This is my 1st yr. that I'm starting my own plants from seeds. I spent a fortune on plants/flowers. My show piece is a claw foot antique bathtub, we painted it like a cow and a friend made & painted a huge wooden head. I mostly have trailing petunias in it and it's beautiful. I just subscribed. I can't start planting for at least another month. 3 days ago we had a blizzard, but, today sunny & warm. My niece is named Hayley. My sis had it spelled Haley and I talked her into changing the spelling. There are tons of way to spell the name. Love your flowers.

      Oh I love this! Your property sounds beautiful! I actually received those milk cans from my late grandparents when they passed last year. They had them on their walnut farm and I just love using them. My parents named me Hayley and spelled it that way after my mom watched the Parent Trap with Hayley Mills and saw her name flash on the screen. I like that spelling as well. Thanks for the nice comment. 🥰

    New subscriber here... as soon as I saw the shots of your fall and Christmas porch styling I was hooked! I do love adding birch logs to my porch, They give such a rustic , natural element to any season. I actually just changed my drill bit to a larger size as those tiny holes get plugged up so easily. The porch looks gorgeous, especially the birch logs. wood elements and branches. So textural and colorful! Great job! The door wreath is very sweet. I could also see a flat backed wall basket filled seasonally with color on that black door .

    You could of put pea gravel in the tray at the bottom it will hide the drip tube and still you could sit your pot down without the bricks and drill small hole in the water tray for the tube. Just a suggestion.

    • @HayleyatHome_
      @HayleyatHome_  5 месяцев назад

      Ohhhh I do like that. I have about 10 other pots to do so definitely might give that a try! Either that or shorter pot legs. The bricks were a bit too visible but just what I had on hand. Thanks for the suggestion! 😊

    I love it all, so bright and pretty, love the wreath so colorful on the door!! I'm wanting to do a drip system on my front porch and no nothing about it, I was curious , how do you hook it up to your faucet? Thanks

      @HayleyatHome_  4 месяца назад

      Thank you!! I’m still enjoying the bright color as well. As for drip, I’m fortunate because I can just tap into and existing drip line that runs through our flower bed nearby. I have seen some videos on the kits that allow you to hook up to a hose but don’t know enough to say. I’d maybe start there. They look pretty simple. Good luck!

      I’m hoping that when I switch the porch up for summer I can show finishing off the drip lines. It’s fun but I like to wait until it’s a little warmer (and when I turn my water on) to work with the tubing. Just a little easier that way. 😊
