What I love about this and everything Louis Dowdeswell does is that the upper range is used musically, with style and precision, instead of as a sensational way of showing off. And his lower register and flugelhorn are just as good as his high range. The same is true, mostly, with Wayne Bergeron, Eric Miyashiro, Derek Watkins and Doc Severinsen, to name just a few. Some other high--range trumpet players have only been concerned with getting the audience all hyped up, like a circus act. The music takes first place here.
3:42 is my favorite part. The harmony on the high register is just unbelievable. Killer song. I've been listening to it for 4 years. Decided to pull it up again. Absolutely killer job
Ever since I discovered your channel and started watching your videos a few years back, you have been an inspiration for me, Louis. I just finished my Freshman Year in college as a Music Education major, with a concentration in trumpet, and every day, I strive to model my sound after yours. Your tone has such incredible depth and ring in any register, and even in your earliest videos on your channel, I couldn't say anything but wow. And that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what is so incredible about your playing. I am so glad to see you posting videos again. Thank you for being a source of inspiration and a goal to aspire to. ChickenTiko
I'm amazed the quality of sound when recorded in less than studio rooms that could not possibly have great acoustics. Phenomenal sound engineering job!
I never hated the song, but I bet I am the only middle aged man in the USA whose teen-aged daughters got tired of hearing their DAD listen to "Let It Go" :)
You inspire me to practice, you have this insane ability and I'm willing to bet a fair amount that Wayne Bergeron, Arturo, all the greats, will watch this and say, "wow". Keep the awesome music coming please! :)
Craziest feeling when you guys play songs...like my heart starts or something. Like a calling of sounds to your soul. Anyway, thanks for all of you guys' works, sounds great!
I'm a freshman in high school, and my section leader sent me and my friend this video, and you are such an inspiration to a progressing trumpet player. I'm that player. This was beautiful and it's something I can look up to. Keep up the AMAZING work!
You sir, are a wonderful Trumpeter (not the bird, either). Heck, the whole band is awesome. You've all got wonderful technique, and you don't just blast the thing, but have volume and tone control. Great job, possibly one of my favorite arrangements, especially the solo section in the middle. I'm happy, now.
Pretty sure I ordered the CD on Paypal - just waiting now in US. In my early 20's was hangin and playin with all the NYC bigs. You' re a great player dude. I would do home surgery to be 22 again and play in this band ! You guys are effin WOW !
I have been waiting a really long time! But you have finally posted and video and I am happy! I was just wondering if you could post more covers for example on Maynard Ferguson! I have literally watched them all! Post more on covers and in general PLEASE!
Only complaint is the little odd keyboard solo. He's very talented it just doesn't fit in very well. Other than that incredible! I had to have listened to this like a hundred times by now.
I agree about the keyboard solo. Although I've enjoyed this musician's other solos on Louis's other recording, this just didn't fit. I'm also wondering why he's only playing with his right hand, givinga solo which has little depth. When I listen to this wonderful track on RUclips, I usually click past this solo.
@@willwyatt7023He's only playing right hand because he's using a monophonic synth patch. Lets you do expressive legato playing and other synth-specific techniques at the expense of playing more than one note at a time.
I think they did it because the original song even has that change in feel and style. If he is still trying to remain somewhat true to the original, it fits the song okay.
Absolutely excellent. Such a powerful tone in the high register. I can only hope to have half the chops you do by the end of my current embochure transformation. Although....why no third valve slide on the last note?
Instead of pushing it out for just the D, he had it out the whole time. Probably because he didn't have even notes that requires the 3rd valve other than the D.
Not only were you named after the alligator from Princess and the Frog, you play trumpet just like him! I love your song covers especially this one. Keep up the good work!
honestly I find this song very well composed by Disney even though most people find the song annoying its quite a good piece in my opinion and your rendition of this piece is stunning the trumpet leads are amazing and as always Louis your playing is impeccable!! love your channel and the inspiration it provides is amazing being a highschool student and a brass player these videos are amazing thanks from the states!! and continue what your doing!
Chill bumps dude. I've waited so long for a video from ya and I actually had to play a show choir gig where they played let it go. I always wondered how good it would sound played by a pro. Very impressed! KEEP IT UP.
Your videos are awesome and very inspiring! You've taken songs that I've only heard once and stuck them in my head like I've seen the movie a thousand times. You should totally do more Disney covers.
I love your playing. I have just been watching your old videos for a long time hoping you would post again and I just have to say WOW!!!!!! Your recording equipment is so good and you are hitting high notes with much more ease. I would love to have your ability! I am almost a senior in highschool now and I am working every day to hopefully get to your level of talent if Im lucky! Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaasssssse keep posting videos because I love hearing you play!
Don't usually comment much on here but felt I had to. Top class performance very neat and tidy keep up the great work. Will definitely be looking out for your other vids from now on...
Another masterpiece as usual. My only critique (a minor one at that) is in instrumentation. I would've personally used an alto sax in place of the soprano sax on that song. And really that's more of a personal preference. But that being said, these arrangements are some of the best I've ever heard. I'm even more impressed by how your group manages execute it with such perfection.
I liked the much maligned keyboard solo, especially the bent pitches- nice :) Screaming trumpets are pretty much a guaranteed "like"/upvote in my book ;)
Is the paypal system on Callums website not working in the states? You should be able to go to that link and pay with paypal. Let me know how you get on. Cheers

Woulda been fine without the shake... otherwise, awesome,
You articulated how I feel well. I appreciate the squealing trumpet, but this is on another level.
3:30 That's pretty high
3:43 That's a lot higher
3:52 That's quite high
3:55 You're going to need a lot more than just chapstick
I believe the last note was a triple C.
+Elecro Hillkill Double C*
My double c's don't sound like that
actually im fairly certain that was a double D,
Yeah it was a double C. I was always taught that the C above the staff is a double D. I knew it was one more octave above it, so I just said triple C.
3:42 is my favorite part. The harmony on the high register is just unbelievable. Killer song. I've been listening to it for 4 years. Decided to pull it up again. Absolutely killer job
and just the d4 at the end ...😅 🎺 Awesome
My setup in this video is:
Bach Stradivarius 43G* gold plate, Bergeron studio GR mouthpiece
Yamaha Bobby Shew 6310z, Bergeron flugel GR mouthpiece
Lightweight Bach 43 or Normal?
Matthias Bistan the "*" means lightweight, the "G" goldbrass bell! It's a pretty unconventional model.
Jaume Blàzquez Bonnín What do you mean by its a pretty unconventional model?
I mean that it's a configuration you have to ask for in bach, it's not standard
I was thinking to myself man that sounds like Wayne Bergeron on that double C, now I know why!

Such very kind words. Thanks very much for getting in touch! Good luck with college!
Louis Dowdeswell Music
Louis you're a treasure. I followed a Maynard Ferguson search. The spirit lives on! You're amazing!!
+Derek Dillman, I just started my freshman year of high school and he's been a huge inspiration to me as well.
Max Kuczynski same
this guy makes me want to reconsider a major in music
You prolly should
Don't do it. I received a bfa and unless you're going to teach it's not worth it
Faça, trabalhe tocandoo
I'm amazed the quality of sound when recorded in less than studio rooms that could not possibly have great acoustics. Phenomenal sound engineering job!
*You managed to take a song I hate and make it a favorite*
Chris Compositions same
I agree
Chris Compositions same
I guess someone CAN polish a turd...
I never hated the song, but I bet I am the only middle aged man in the USA whose teen-aged daughters got tired of hearing their DAD listen to "Let It Go" :)
That ending part was sick as hell. Such clean, super high notes. Incredible.
Whoa I didn’t expect to like this as much as I do!!
You inspire me to practice, you have this insane ability and I'm willing to bet a fair amount that Wayne Bergeron, Arturo, all the greats, will watch this and say, "wow". Keep the awesome music coming please! :)
Absolutely brilliant. How could anyone dislike that?
2:55 The lick! Man that cat on the keys is a real bad dude
2:40 that Herbie Hanckock Moment 😍
He either looks like he doesn't care about the music or he's he's really passionate and into it. No middle ground.
That could totally be the overture of a Frozen musical. It's soo epic I love it
you make hitting those high notes seem effortless
My compliments to Callum Au for his outstanding arrangement and to all the performers!
Craziest feeling when you guys play songs...like my heart starts or something. Like a calling of sounds to your soul. Anyway, thanks for all of you guys' works, sounds great!

Oh.. my... God, since day one Louie has progressed so much, it's so extraordinary, I've been watching since the beginning, just amazing as always
Your top register is bloody perfect dude, absolutely spot on, bravo.
Would you arrange "over the rainbow"?
I second this
iFrozen Graal I third this

it's incredible i love your music theme
That was absolutely fantastic.
1:24 is so sweet. that part is awesome. along with the whole song
Incredible... I could listen to this all day.
I have no words. That was mind-blowing!
Great performance Louis, great performance from everyone...
This has absolutely blown me away. I was only searching for sheet music for trumpet and flugel! ❤❤❤❤
Pretty sure I ordered the CD on Paypal - just waiting now in US. In my early 20's was hangin and playin with all the NYC bigs. You' re a great player dude. I would do home surgery to be 22 again and play in this band ! You guys are effin WOW !
fantastic playing dude!

CP CodeMaster Sorry its been so long but I've been waiting till I've had a better recording and video setup. Will be more soon!
Well, this is just stupid good, isn't it! Great focus, pitch, and respect for the instrument. I tip my cap, sir.
The kiss off at 3:57, love it.
Just bought the backing track and trumpet part. I love it. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel. You're an awesome player.
Only complaint is the little odd keyboard solo. He's very talented it just doesn't fit in very well. Other than that incredible! I had to have listened to this like a hundred times by now.
i have to agree about the keyboard solo, didnt really fit.
Hackers Don't Win true... Especially that 70's porn style. I usually just skip it.

You need to post more of these they are AMAZING
Great to see you back in action with a very professional produced video. Keep it coming, the band is great!
NO WORDS, THIS IS AMAZING
My mouth opened when you played that high your good keep it up
Absolutely excellent. Such a powerful tone in the high register. I can only hope to have half the chops you do by the end of my current embochure transformation.
Although....why no third valve slide on the last note?
Smeeth Cheers! If you look closely I am... I don't tend to find I need much on the D on my horn. The lighting probably doesn't help
Callum - I love these charts!

Another great performance! I love it! However, the composer(s) are Kristen Anderson-Lopez AND Robert Lopez. Kristen is the primary composer.
Top level playing. Amazing Louis
I liked the much maligned keyboard solo, especially the bent pitches- nice :)
Screaming trumpets are pretty much a guaranteed "like"/upvote in my book ;)
