Refreshing that someone is still reviewing this 💎 of a pistol. It’s just about everything you could ever want from a defensive pistol stock out the box … no weaknesses….Severely underrated and people who have them love em.
I bought my SP2022 a little over a year ago for $425 OTD. It is the 2-toned version and came with case, SigLites, (2) mags, factory holster, plus Med and Large grip module. I've since installed a SMALL grip module and a Short Reach Trigger. I also found (3) factory mags and a 17rd MecGar mag at my LGS for $20/each. I even bought an OEM complete small parts kit and OEM von Staven sights to replace the SigLites years from now. It's a keeper.
I myself carry a sp2022 and rotate it out once in awhile with a Ruger p95, I have owned a p226 and p220 in the past and I can honestly say out of all of them the sp2022 is my favorite. When I lived in California I noticed that the sp2022 is a popular choice in that state as its one of the firearms that is still on the state gun roster. If your looking for a da/sa for your all around do it all firearm don't hesitate to check it out you won't be disappointed
The SP2022 is a great gun. Prior to switching to 1911 in .45acp that I shoot and daily carry today, I had the SP2022 and the P226 both in .40 S&W. The SP2022 was my primary carry gun. It was accurate, reliable and an overall great EDC carry. Very good review AZ. Thank you.
I am not a marksman by any means, until I pick up my SP2022. It just won't miss! I love sigs, and this one is my favorite out of all of 'em. Mine came with 3 mags. My only complaint is mine doesn't say "sig pro" on the grip for some reason. Great review!
I was thinking of creating a video specifically on SP2022 ever since I’ve bought mine, and I gotta say it’s much easier to Share yours version. Hat goes off you to you Mr. You covered everything, Sig did an Amazing job on this model.
2:37 The SP 2022 (length 7.4", height 5.7") is somewhere in between a P226 (7.7", 5.5") and P229 (7.1", 5.4"). There was a compact model with a "c" after "sp" (SPC 2022), that was sold in Europe between 2004 and 2007 but not offered here in the US. Its length and height (7.1", 5.4") matched the P229 perfectly :)
Just picked one up for $300 original box extra mags holster absolutely love it and I’m a Glock guy at heart 🤜🏽 just starting to dip into the Sig pistols
I carried one in 99’ or 2000, don’t remember exactly. I loved it! Had an issue with the nitron finish and they replaced it for me. Moved on to the 229 ( which I guess is the M11A1 now, for some reason I never heard about, lol. Because I have a 229R and it’s a completely different animal. Then of course carried the 226 in the military for yrs...only thing I switched out carrying my 2022 for back then was an HK-C 9 mm. that I ovned as well. Got nostalgic a couple of months ago and grabbed me another 2022. Keep it on a magnetic mount in my Jeep always! And I own at least 15 Sig handguns minimum! lol
I love the gun and I put the dpm recoil reduction system that comes with a steel guide rod in it and it made it even better. Dont get me wrong it's perfectly fine without. The guide rod stock is polymer. Pmag makes a 18 round mag and it has ran just fine no failures at all with that mag.
I have one myself and love it.. I did have a problem of it not lock the slide back on the last round. and found it to be useer error, my hand resting under the slide lock lever. I've had it since 04 and l just picked up the X Macro and love it just the same. 😊
Have had a sp2009,Swiss made with slide mounted safety DAO. Now have a sp2022gen1 German made (My EDC) Vary accurate Upgraded trigger (galloway precision) And sights ( hackathorn) Will never look back.
Mine is a 40 S&W to which I changed it to a steel guide rod with a stronger spring. Changed to trigger and then made it a 357 sig caliber. Shoots great in both calibers.
Great video. .... and of course like with everything... Sig discontinued it. Great pistol, great value. I guess the price wasn't high enough for them...
That rumor is everywhere but it isn't true. They haven't discontinued these at all, I contacted Sig directly and they confirmed they are still making them, just in smaller batches.
Not only the first but, IMHO, the best polymer-framed SIG. I think, because of the huge government contracts, Sig-Sauer never bothered to market the pistol aggressively to the civilian market. If you buy the CA-compliant version, you get the original German-style internal extractor and no loaded chamber indicator. The 10-round mags can easily be accompanied by a few full-capacity Mecgars.
Great Sig DA/SA option if you want that Sig reliability without breaking the bank. Is it a P226? No Is it a P229/P228? Nope Will it scratch that Sig "itch"? Yup! I disagree on the sizing, it's more so in between the 229 and 226. I scooped one from someone looking to sell for $220 and it was worth every penny. I wouldn't pay more than $400, though. I still think the old school 9mm P228 is the ultimate Sig. The SigPro shoots greats, amazing action and accuracy, even in DA(practice makes perfect). I recommend anyone new to DA to print a few TRex Arms cadence circles and shoot them while decocking after every shot to perfect their pull. Great review on the best kept secret in the Sig world, good sir!
I like the CZ 75 series DA/SA. P-01 w/rail or PCR w/o. 75-B w/o.FS And 75 SP-01 W/RAIL FULL SIZE They are very accurate shooting, w/decocker. or safety Better looking pistols. I see your P-09 POLYMER sitting on the table, that's a nice pistol.
Dude, for real? I do contract work since exiting and I’ve dropped mine from the top of a .6’ concrete wall climbing over it. Landed right on the back of the end plate! No issues...I own minimum 9 different 320’s of different configurations, not ONE has ever AD’d...and I’ve carried them all in a plethora of holsters. Even the cheap ass Serpa’s that Cabellas employees will tell you that it makes them “ fire all by itself” lol. I finally looked at one employee who said that and asked him if he really thought that Cabellas would keep them on the shelf and continue selling them and accept that liability if that were the case? He abruptly left..
They need to update the sp2022 with optics cut like cz did with p09. By all accounts the 2022 has been a really good underrated gun for many years, even back when it was the first gen sig pro
In 1998 SIg introduced the original Sig Pro SP2340 in 357sig and 40S&W. In 1999 SIg Introduced the 9mm version, the SP2009. In 2022 SIg discontinued both model and introduced the new and current version the SP2022. I bought my first Sig back in 1998 was the SP2340 in 357sig and got hooked on the design. Today I have all the versions, color, calibers and models SIg ever made. Well not really, I still need the Diamond Plated model. I haven't seen one in years. Anyway I have 8 or 9 SP series pistol even some customized. My latest was a SP2022 milled for a red dot that I found on the used market. All in all they are excellent guns! ruclips.net/user/shortsUHq4FC8q7h8?si=saQhdH1wTRBHSnRC

I've had my P2022 for about 7 years. I hit center mass every single time doing my exposed carry qualifications. Great pistol.

The underrated Sig SP2022 9mm is my daily carry for 4 years now. Good ergos.
DA/SA with a decocker. Night sights.
My nightstand gun, great DA/SA for shorter fingers w/ small grip, great trigger.
The 2022 is a great option for someone on a tight budget that wants the 1 "do it all" gun. 🤓
One of my favorites. My second Sig purchase.
Fantastic review. I got 220-26-29 and waiting the permit to buy to 2009. I could undersign all your statements. Good job. Greetings from Switzerland.

They say that the sp2022 has lowest repair rate amongst the 200 series sigs…. Most durable
This channel is sooo underrated. Should have way more subscribers already.
WTH, man.

CZ P01 slide rack problems....not so with SP2022. Great Sig piece. Terrific accuracy.
They are awesome, love mines, shoots very natural to me
Great video. .... and of course like with everything... Sig discontinued it. Great pistol, great value. I guess the price wasn't high enough for them...
@hondasaurusrex6998 They are still on Sig's website.
That rumor is everywhere but it isn't true. They haven't discontinued these at all, I contacted Sig directly and they confirmed they are still making them, just in smaller batches.
Well, it had a 20 year contract with French Police, hence the name 2022. Contract began in 2002
@@Katarn1911 thanks for the info!
@@Katarn1911 did they say when they will be available?
I love mine.

I bought mine in 2008 for $450. This is one of the most underrated pistols imho.

First gun i ever purchased
Love my Sig SP2022 9mm
More I look at P229, the more I appreciate the budget SP2340.
I believe that the model that you have is California compliant. Mine don’t have the loaded chamber indicator feature.
Quick question not an expert lol but can you change the barrel size on the sp 2022
The one that I tried was a jamomatic but very accurate I have to say
The 2022 is not the first polymer pistol . Sig produced the SP2340. This is the first polymer pistol.
You keep calling that a P09 but it seems to be a p07 size-wise
I've got the 40 cal, and i use it for daily traveling. Just wish there were more upgrade options. MOS, compensator slides, barrel upgrades, etc.
Have you reviewed Sigs new .22 pistol? Love to see it
You should do a vs video with the 2022 vs FNX 9 vs cz p07
Hope its drop safe unlike my Sig P320…..
It is… Is double/ single action and it’s a 200 series sig… not a striker pistol like the 300 series…. Love the 2022….. don’t care for the 320.

There are companies that can cut your slide for a red dot.

Is the sig p226 in .40 as good as the 9mm? The higher
Pressure round might be tough on aluminum frames?
I hate DA/SA pistols with a passion. Give me one consistent trigger pull - be it DAO, SA or striker-fired.
In 1998 SIg introduced the original Sig Pro SP2340 in 357sig and 40S&W. In 1999 SIg Introduced the 9mm version, the SP2009. In 2022 SIg discontinued both model and introduced the new and current version the SP2022.
