BEFORE POSTING A COMMENT, READ THIS Dear brothers/ sisters, Some desperate non-Muslims have been posting comments here which are nothing but lies, fabrications, and links for video whose sole purpose is spreading ignorance and make Muslims think they doubt their deen. And some dear brothers/ sisters asked me why this topic? It might make people suspicious about Islam. And I say: - The sole purpose of this channel is spreading knowledge and truth. It’s not meant to compare religions or criticize atheism/ any other religion. - Thanks to Allah and unlike any other religion or ideology, there is not a single topic in Islam/ Quran which, we Muslims, are afraid to discuss or are ashamed of. - I have not responded to those malicious comments/ video links because they are too insignificant to spend my time refuting them, they simply do not contain any shred of evidence in them not even to be able to refute them. When you see people, who can’t even read Arabic properly, criticize the holy Quran, then I am done. When you see people talking about Quran's different manuscripts or scrolls, I just pity them. - Posting questions is always welcome from anyone, posting an argument provided with evidence is always welcome from anyone, having a scientific discussion is most welcome. But spreading lies just like that will lead to deleting the comment, and if it kept happening it may result in ban. - Know one thing .. it IS an established fact, whether you like it or not: The Holy Quran is the most perfect book that has ever existed, and every single letter or sound in it is verified. Doubting the Quran is truly the most laughable claim I’ve heard .. This video shows (some) of the evidence clearly and concisely: ruclips.net/video/MEtbT_Nrso8/видео.html Watch it if you have any doubt (don’t forget to turn on the subtitles). Finally .. @Eternity ok simple answer... The Taana Birmingham manuscript in the time of prophet Muhammad... Now, do you have any manuscripts from the 1st century of Jesus?
The Holy Quran is the most perfect book that has ever existed, and every single letter or sound in it is verified. And yet there are 37 different qurons including hafs and wersh which only came about in 1924 egypt. Can you explain that hole in the narrative good brother?

I am Arab and I studied a brief about quira'at (in Arabic), but this is the first time for me to understand it clearly. Thank you so much, may God Grant you Jannah!
I'm a native arabic speaker and when I first read about the 7 ahruf, I couldn't understand it, even with a bit of research, there was always something in the explanation that is ambiguous with no straightforward meaning. I can't thank you enough. May Allah reward you.
@@SheikhAlladeen hey Andy, I'm not a researcher and I have not yet looked deep into ahruf and qira'at, It's -to my shame- a postponed topic on my list, I hope someday soon I'd tackle it. I had to start with this statement to make you understand that I'm not here to fight over something I find hard to my comprehension. as for the first example you gave, I believe you mean Surat Al-baqara verse 10? If that so, I don't see the meaning you're mentioning, perhaps you meant another one? The second one, Surat Al-anbya'a verse 4, yes, the two verbs indicate two deferent subjects, however, the meaning is still the same, to me at least, which is that God is the hearing and the knowing, whether it's a statement of the prophet Muhammad -pbuh- or a command of Allah for the prophet to say, either way, Allah is the one who inspire the prophet with Wahy to say that. So it's not that much of a case to me. As for the third example, Al-anbya'a verse 112, the same applies to me. The Last one and the washing or rinsing the foot during wudu', I had no idea there are two different rules, as for me, a muslim living in an Arabic country, It's been a norm to wash the foot, it's the ordinary thing we do and we learn since we are children making wudu', but I looked it up -thanks to you- and I found that most of the jurisdiction imams, including the famous four, said that washing is how it should be and not just wiping, which goes along with the Hafs qera'a, and also goes along with some hadeeth of the prophet -pbuh- and how he made wudu' himself. My final point, something you mentioned in the beginning of your comment, that ahruf has no existence in the qura'an, we as muslims don't take out rules from the qura'an exclusively, we also have the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad -pbuh- And if we went along with that notion of yours, we wouldn't have had a lot of rules of our rituals, cuz Sunnah sometimes detailed what the qura'an mentioned briefly or generally, and if you're right in what you say, maybe we should stop praying our five prayers with that amount of raqa'at cuz the qura'an didn't mention it, and it was just hadeeth or imitating what the prophet Muhammad -pbuh- used to do. But it's totally up to you to not trust the sunnah, but as for muslims we can't do that.
@@SheikhAlladeen just so you know, in Egypt, we have several official institutes that learn different qira'at, so it's no secret or they're trying to hide it due to the reasons you think might create a debate, the learners even get some sort of a degree called "Igaza" in that qira'a or in ten qira'at, and the most well known qura'a in Egypt have records of different qira'at as well. PS: it's not called "someone's qura'an" cuz that indicates we have "different" versions of the qura'an, like the bible, however, it's called "qura'an with someone's rewaya" or qira'a if you like.
Hi ! I have a question... There are some scholarly opinion that suggests that qiraats are bit confusing but can you tell me what's the majority opinion?
"Abbaas who narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Jibreel taught me one style and I reviewed it until he taught me more, and I kept asking him for more and he gave me more until finally there were seven styles.”
This is the best explanation regarding ahruf and qiraat. Only Islam has the tool to preserve the Quran. That is isnad the golden chain of narration. Only Allah can reward you ustaz.
allah snackbar not girlfriend Farook Malik Quran 6:101 He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when He has no consort? He has created everything and is aware of everything
Harf ≠ Dialect Harf ≈ dialect Scholars say they found more than 40 dialects in the Quran. Yet it's consistent and doesn't have mistakes or contradictions
How can differences in words such as singular vs plural or omitted words or changes in meaning “but actually deepening the meaning” be considered as no contradictions? How can the word of god have variations? There is no indication in the quran about these variations as far as i know
Thank you Sir, I saw your video in my recommended feed and felt very anxious about viewing it, thinking it might throw doubt in my heart, but it did just the opposite as you were clear and concise, subhanallah 7 dialects and still the holy Quran retains it's claim and doesn't contradict itself. I could tell by your dialect that you're an Egyptian, greetings and love from Palestine❤️❤️
What a joke, Quran in seven dialects. Complete blasphemy in the name of "not dividing the ummah" May God help you people, one day you'll understand that the Arabs tampered with the words of God, and that the true way the Quran is preserved is true its literature and mathematical code

The work done by javed ahmed ghamidi and his student Dr. shahzad saleem regarding the collection & transmission of the Quran are good enough for me. Most of the ahadeeth regarding the collection & transmission of the Quran have serious flaws... These seven qiraat are a bunch of rubbish and the only correct qirat is that which the majority of the muslims hold in their hands today from Arabia to indonesia. The various other qiraat are mostly found in parts of africa. A close look at them will clearly reveal the degraded arabic used in those qiraat and the changes that the people tried to make in the book of Allah. That only Qirat is named after Hafs, but he learnt it from someone else, I cant remember his name, who taught that the variations of Qiraat are wrong. These other Qiraat are a bunch of rubbish and considering them valid, would cast serious doubt regarding the authenticity of the book of Allah. Its time now, to reject them and call the spade a spade. The Quran itself says in surah al qiyamah - اِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا جَمۡعَہٗ وَ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ فَاِذَا قَرَاۡنٰہُ فَاتَّبِعۡ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ After this no other Qirat is valid..

U Christians don’t want to understand I guess That’s your problem Refer to the channel for more answers ruclips.net/video/K11XfOfTFAU/видео.html Claim The qiraat are mistakes If u are Christian then OH Man 😂 So I hope u are an atheist trying this hard because then u are trying to debunk something u cannot refute whilst whatever u believe in is not even worthy of this type of criticism Because it’s all over the place ( literally)
@Eternity Actually there’s a difference of opinion on her age. We can easily look at one hadith (saying of the Prophet) and make our own ruling on it but if we do that, it’ll cause corruption due to our limited knowledge. Therefore, we refer to scholars who take all of the related hadiths, Quranic verses, etc. when coming to a fatwa (ruling), conclusion on a historical event, etc. This is the same case with Aisha’s age, may Allah be pleased with her. www.islamweb.net/ehajj/printarticle.php?id=38813&lang=E&id=38813&lang=E We must seek the truth and only then will we be guided. May Allah guide you and your family & guide me & my family and allow us to seek the truth in our hearts.
@Adam A it's funny, this Christian calling himself "Eternity" gets proven wrong twice, then his only response is to give a non-sequitur about the (not unanimous) topic of Aisha's age.
I was just being exposed to this subject to-day. A little bit confused. After listening to this explanation it became clearer. Thanks so much. Grateful to bump to this programme.
and another doubt immediately removed, every time my heart is filled with doubt about any subject in Islam i find a quick answer i wonder why it's not something taught in schools, to know about the ahruf
I relate to you! I think it isn't widely taught, and some discourage openly talking about it since it is a VERY technical subject, and not everyone is blessed with the intelligence to articulate it properly.
@gsem000 salam aleikum brother, please delete your comment as it can create fitnah. Allah bestows knowledge to some as a blessing in order to strengthen their iman and bring His slave close to Him. Why must you write something negative? Instead you should be saying alhamdulilah that Allah grants understanding to his ummah in His infinite mercy.
The best thing about this is kaaffirs thinks they can being us to poIytheism with their baseless lies but infact when they open these topics we research more and increases us in faith 🔸The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely - 8:2
@gsem000 Wow. You suck. People can have doubts, you know. We aren't perfect. We aren't angels. We're human. Allah knows that we're weak. There is Shaytan and Fitna all around us. Do you really have to make it harder for a person trying to make any doubt in his heart disappear? You should thank Allah for your strong iman and pray for OP, instead of shaming them. These are not the qualities of a proper muslim. You should worry about yourself, dude.
Amazimg amazing amazing.. This is the answer to those who claim Qur'an has contradictions.... masha allah.. amazing.. may Allah belss you upon all of ur work and dedication
Alhamdulilahi!!! For ur efforts. A topic that I found complex has been dealt with so elegantly. Subhanallah! May Allah Bless you and the team. A must watch for all our brothers and sisters. 🌸
Jazakkallhu Khair. Dear brother you have explained the topic clearly. I was looking for the answers for a long time. Keep spreading the knowledge. Allah will reward you with the best. Insha Allah.
InshaAllah please go through all the different ayat like you did with the one with قتل so we can fully appreciate how these words supplement eachother throughout the 7 ahruf, all of them 😍
Thank you ever so much for making it so simple to understand I watch all your videos, it really helps to get rid of confusions, it's so amazing how you explain in short but I get all my questions answered in few minutes, may Allah reward you for your hard work and may Allah make your life happy and easy like you making easy for millions of people who are trying read the noble Quran as it should be read just to please Allah swt. JazakAllahu kheiran.🤗
Thank you so much for this clear explanation. It's useful for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, those of us who are still confused and struggle to understand the meaning of different ahruf and qiraat. For those of us who debate with Christians, now we have a resource to share with them. Jazzakallahu khoir
The main points the presenter made was 1. To make it easier to read in one of the seven dialects. An example given was color and colour. If it was to make it easier for the reader then it would be consistent across the whole version of the Quran. If a book had both colour and color in the USA version of the book I would call it a mistake. 2. To deepen the meaning. The presenter gave the example of one aya having a version of having fought or having been killed. His explanation is the difference adds another dimension without contradicting one another. The Quran is supposedly written in clear Arabic and this is an obvious contradiction.
@@heathersoares186 Arabs spoke in different dialects. It was revealed in different dialects to make it easy for them. They had different grammer, different pronounciation, and some tribes didn't have complete letters!
@@SheikhAlladeen first of all, are you an expert in classical arabic? secondly, did any muslim at the time of the prophet and the first 4 caliphs ever argue with one another about a different Quran? NONE! No evidence. Zero! The only evidence we have is one companion arguing about the way a verse is recited and the matter was brought to the Prophet and he said both are correct. No point arguing using the modern context of the language. Case closed.
Jazak Allah Khair. You explained it very well in simple words and it made my belief even stronger than Quran is the Word of Allah (SWT). It will help me during my dawah work.
Assalamu'alaikum, brother. Thank you so much for the video! It's a wonderful explanation for the Ahruf and the Qira'at. In my opinion, if you had added the conditions of an authentic Qira'ah (conformity to the consonantal skeleton of the Uthmanic codex, sound chain of narration to Prophet Muhammad pbuh, and consistency with the linguistic rulings of Arabic), it would've been the cherry on top! I hope Allah will reward you plentifully. Aamiin.
Jazzakallahu khayr,a bro recently complained to me about a certain Qari the way he recites Fatiha,I told him there are different styles so we were searching for precise answer before we could comment on it since we all reverts.. Alhamdulillah here I got it may Allah bless u for this ilm
Masha Allah I am sooo glad I chanced upon your video! thanks a lot for the super duper clear and simple explanation about the differences btw Ahroof and Qiraat! Surely, learning about the Qur'an is a lifelong journey. Baarakallahu feekum!
From Chat GPT: Yes, I can affirm that based on what I shared. The Quran is indeed exceptionally well-preserved, with no significant differences across the qira'at that would alter the core beliefs, doctrines, or practices of Islam. The variations that exist in the qira'at are minor and do not impact fundamental meanings or introduce theological contradictions. On the other hand, as demonstrated by the examples in the Bible, there are notable differences in various manuscripts, translations, and interpretations, some of which affect essential theological points such as the divinity of Jesus, the Trinity, and other doctrines. These differences in the Bible highlight its textual variations over time, something that the Quran does not experience due to its unique preservation through memorization and written record. Thus, the Quran's preservation contrasts sharply with the textual challenges present in the Bible.
Surah As-Saffat (37:12), has two distinct readings in the Hafs and Warsh recitations, which lead to theological implications due to their differing subjects of amazement. The Two Recitations: Hafs vs. Warsh 1. Hafs Recitation (Most Common): • Arabic: “بَلْ عَجِبْتُ وَيَسْخَرُونَ” • Transliteration: “Bal ʿAjibtu wa-yasakhirūn.” • Translation: “But I (Allah) am amazed, and they mock.” • Key Subject: The word ʿAjibtu (عَجِبْتُ, “I am amazed”) refers to Allah. 2. Warsh Recitation: • Arabic: “بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ” • Transliteration: “Bal ʿAjibta wa-yasakhirūn.” • Translation: “But you (O Muhammad) are amazed, and they mock.” • Key Subject: The word ʿAjibta (عَجِبْتَ, “You are amazed”) refers to Muhammad. Differences Between the Recitations 1. Grammatical Subject: • Hafs Recitation: The verb ʿAjibtu (“I am amazed”) uses the first-person singular pronoun -tu, which explicitly refers to Allah. • Warsh Recitation: The verb ʿAjibta (“You are amazed”) uses the second-person singular pronoun -ta, which refers to Muhammad. 2. Theological Implications: • Hafs: • Attributes amazement to Allah, which raises theological concerns: • Amazement implies surprise or encountering the unexpected, qualities inconsistent with Allah’s omniscience. • Anthropomorphism: Describing Allah with human-like emotions (e.g., amazement) contradicts Islamic principles of transcendence. • Warsh: • Attributes amazement to Muhammad, which aligns better with traditional Islamic theology since Muhammad, as a human, can naturally experience surprise or amazement. 3. Contextual Flow: • The Warsh recitation aligns with the surrounding verses, where the disbelievers’ mocking is directed toward Muhammad. In this context, it makes sense for Muhammad to be amazed at their rejection of truth. • The Hafs recitation shifts the focus to Allah, introducing theological tensions regarding divine emotions. Why This Difference Is Problematic 1. Contradictory Theological Implications • The Hafs recitation challenges Allah’s omniscience and immutability: • Amazement implies a reaction to an unforeseen or extraordinary event, which is incompatible with Allah’s knowledge of all things. • Islamic theology rejects attributing human emotions to Allah, as stated in Surah Ash-Shura (42:11): “There is nothing like unto Him.” • The Warsh recitation avoids these issues by attributing amazement to Muhammad, who, as a human, can naturally feel surprise or shock. 2. Linguistic and Doctrinal Ambiguity • If both recitations are considered valid, they create conflicting theological narratives: • Hafs: Allah expresses amazement. • Warsh: Muhammad expresses amazement. • These differences are significant enough to influence interpretations of Allah’s nature and Muhammad’s role, undermining the Quran’s claim to perfect clarity: • Surah Hud (11:1): “This is a Book whose verses are perfected and then explained in detail from [one who is] Wise and Acquainted.” 3. Implications for Quranic Inerrancy • Muslims believe the Quran is preserved and free of contradictions: • Surah An-Nisa (4:82): “Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.” • However, the differences between Hafs and Warsh raise questions: • If Allah “praying” is problematic, why does one recitation include it? • If both are valid, how can the Quran avoid contradictory meanings? Reactions by Islamic Scholars 1. Defense of Both Readings: • Scholars argue that both recitations are valid, as they are part of the seven canonical readings (Qira’at). • They claim the Hafs reading refers to Allah’s “condemnation” rather than literal amazement, while the Warsh reading reflects Muhammad’s emotional reaction. 2. Preference for Warsh: • Some scholars and translators lean toward the Warsh recitation to avoid the theological complications of attributing amazement to Allah. 3. Use of Tafwid: • When confronted with theological issues in the Hafs recitation, scholars often invoke tafwid (consigning the meaning to Allah alone), sidestepping the need for explanation. Conclusion The difference between the Hafs and Warsh recitations of Surah As-Saffat (37:12) highlights a significant theological issue: 1. The Hafs recitation, attributing amazement to Allah, challenges core Islamic doctrines of omniscience and transcendence. 2. The Warsh recitation, attributing amazement to Muhammad, avoids these issues and aligns with Islamic theology. 3. The existence of such differences raises questions about Quranic inerrancy and clarity, especially when these variations lead to contradictory understandings of Allah’s nature. Ultimately, the tension reflects broader challenges within the doctrine of Quranic preservation and the coexistence of multiple, differing recitations.

This is so amazing just for the better understanding for the people and also to challenge the disbelievers... See I'm a 17 year old and I'm a budding hafiza and while reading the Qur'an on my phone as well as mushaf I always wonder why there's a difference as I use indopak script and uthmani also... But now with the help of this video my all doubts are removed and my eman on Qur'an has become more powerful... Seriously I want to thank you for this video... This video means a lot to me

BEFORE POSTING A COMMENT, READ THIS
Dear brothers/ sisters,
Some desperate non-Muslims have been posting comments here which are nothing but lies, fabrications, and links for video whose sole purpose is spreading ignorance and make Muslims think they doubt their deen.
And some dear brothers/ sisters asked me why this topic? It might make people suspicious about Islam.
And I say:
- The sole purpose of this channel is spreading knowledge and truth.
Finally .. Keep Learning, Stay motivated and Good Luck.

Only Arabic, how can hour book be "Superior" if you can't even preserve his original language ?
Anyway big boy bring me a single evidence of historical and scientific mistake here and we'll see. Look the Joachim problem in your bible where it's stated 2 same sentence but the age of this king suddenly change, the SAME sentence, your God can't even say the same sentence, without a mistake man ?
@Eternity try and bring a single complete bible from the time of Jesus ? Lol
@Eternity Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Quran], and indeed, We will be its guardian. (QURAN, CHAPTER 15, VERSE 9)
We muslims have memorized the holy Quran for centuries. Word for word. Letter by letter. Everyone reciting same verses.
Regarding Bible.. It was originally written in Aramaic and it is a dead language now. Feel free to wonder why this is so.
The clearest answer is that the written language just didn't have vowels at the time.

My final point, something you mentioned in the beginning of your comment, that ahruf has no existence in the qura'an, we as muslims don't take out rules from the qura'an exclusively, we also have the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad -pbuh-
And if we went along with that notion of yours, we wouldn't have had a lot of rules of our rituals, cuz Sunnah sometimes detailed what the qura'an mentioned briefly or generally, and if you're right in what you say, maybe we should stop praying our five prayers with that amount of raqa'at cuz the qura'an didn't mention it, and it was just hadeeth or imitating what the prophet Muhammad -pbuh- used to do.

The best explanation is that the written language just didn't have vowels at the time.

The Quran itself says in surah al qiyamah -
اِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا جَمۡعَہٗ وَ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ فَاِذَا قَرَاۡنٰہُ فَاتَّبِعۡ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ
After this no other Qirat is valid..
Al Quran is a miracle. Knowing that it has 7 variations in recitation and still no contradiction, it is miracle over miracle.
The Bible has variations and Muslims call it corrupted. How can Muslims have many Qirats but Christians get mocked for having different versions?
Well, that is because the variations were directly teached by prophet Muhammad, meanwhile Bible has been edited over the years (by people with no authority) edit@@jayski85

Surah 37: 12; Hafs -> But YOU wonder, while they mock. ; Khalaf -> But I wonder, while they mock; Also Surah 2:184; Hafs says to feed a poor person; Warsh says feed poor people. It has legal implications right as we are not sure how many have to be fed as fidya...
@@haveyouconsidered7804 It is A wonder, not I, that is a wrong translation.
Second, they don't change anything in the different dialects you said for 2:184. You can literally read the word in Arabic BOTH ways, so there is no "contradication."
And what the hell do you mean "not sure", LOL? At least one person is to be fed, use some logic.
@@hexerouseven if agree ,.....' You ' wonder and 'A' wonder is the same??? Seriously...is this what it means perfectly preserved, word to word, dot to dot, vowel to vowel... @@haveyouconsidered7804 We have all of the dialects/pronounciations memorized.

Harakah was not a thing when the Quran was used (the signs you see above/below the letters), it was only made for Non-Arab Muslims and Non-Muslims to easily read the Quran. The pronounciations you hear in the different dialects (not different versions) can all be pronounced in the Quran that was written down without Harakah, so whatever point you make against this completely falls down and is utterly destroyed.

On top of that, Uthman burnt a lot of Qurans that did not match the Qureshi dialect. But looks like some survived, that is why we have 37 versions. What you probably have in 1924 Cairo edition Hafs. the concept of singular and plural in Arabic can be sometimes synonymous, too. We call that اسم الجنس which when mentioning a singular form, but the meaning is all of them with the same trait.
So when I say "feed the poor" I mean not talking about ONE person who is poor. BUT I am talking about ALL poor people I know.
So in this case 'feed the poor' would give the same meaning as 'feed poor people'
In the quran it is in different words of course, but a similar concept.
The matter requires more explanation of course, but that is the main idea.

Great video! It’s awesome that you’re making this information available and easily accessible to the public.
and another doubt immediately removed, every time my heart is filled with doubt about any subject in Islam i find a quick answer
i wonder why it's not something taught in schools, to know about the ahruf
@gsem000
Wow.
Cause it’s a lie

This confirms the miracle of the Quran in total - how can a man produce a book like this in various dialects who was illiterate? SubhanAllah!

Wa Iyyakum, brother/ sister,
Jazakum Allahu khairan for these words. They mean a lot to me. Alhamdulilah.
The main points the presenter made was
@@heathersoares186 go first understand what contradiction means and if u want an example then it's bible , the living contradiction
@@heathersoares186 huh? you saying 'color and colour' are both found in the same book? where do you get this idea from?
Aamiin.
this was a wonderful video ! Straight to the point and well-explained ! Jazakallahu Khairan
Jazzakallahu khayr,a bro recently complained to me about a certain Qari the way he recites Fatiha,I told him there are different styles so we were searching for precise answer before we could comment on it since we all reverts.. Alhamdulillah here I got it may Allah bless u for this ilm

From Chat GPT:
Yes, I can affirm that based on what I shared.

Warsh
1. Hafs Recitation (Most Common):
• Arabic: “بَلْ عَجِبْتُ وَيَسْخَرُونَ”
• Transliteration: “Bal ʿAjibtu wa-yasakhirūn.”
• Translation: “But I (Allah) am amazed, and they mock.”
• Key Subject: The word ʿAjibtu (عَجِبْتُ, “I am amazed”) refers to Allah.
2. Warsh Recitation:
• Arabic: “بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ”
• Transliteration: “Bal ʿAjibta wa-yasakhirūn.”
• Translation: “But you (O Muhammad) are amazed, and they mock.”
• Key Subject: The word ʿAjibta (عَجِبْتَ, “You are amazed”) refers to Muhammad.
Differences Between the Recitations
1. Grammatical Subject:
• Hafs Recitation: The verb ʿAjibtu (“I am amazed”) uses the first-person singular pronoun -tu, which explicitly refers to Allah.
• Warsh Recitation: The verb ʿAjibta (“You are amazed”) uses the second-person singular pronoun -ta, which refers to Muhammad.
2. Theological Implications:
• Hafs:
• Attributes amazement to Allah, which raises theological concerns:
• Amazement implies surprise or encountering the unexpected, qualities inconsistent with Allah’s omniscience.
• Anthropomorphism: Describing Allah with human-like emotions (e.g., amazement) contradicts Islamic principles of transcendence.
• Warsh:
• Attributes amazement to Muhammad, which aligns better with traditional Islamic theology since Muhammad, as a human, can naturally experience surprise or amazement.
3. Contextual Flow:
• The Warsh recitation aligns with the surrounding verses, where the disbelievers’ mocking is directed toward Muhammad. In this context, it makes sense for Muhammad to be amazed at their rejection of truth.
• The Hafs recitation shifts the focus to Allah, introducing theological tensions regarding divine emotions.
Why This Difference Is Problematic
1. Contradictory Theological Implications
• The Hafs recitation challenges Allah’s omniscience and immutability:
• Amazement implies a reaction to an unforeseen or extraordinary event, which is incompatible with Allah’s knowledge of all things.
• Islamic theology rejects attributing human emotions to Allah, as stated in Surah Ash-Shura (42:11): “There is nothing like unto Him.”
• The Warsh recitation avoids these issues by attributing amazement to Muhammad, who, as a human, can naturally feel surprise or shock.
2. Linguistic and Doctrinal Ambiguity
• If both recitations are considered valid, they create conflicting theological narratives:
• Hafs: Allah expresses amazement.
• Warsh: Muhammad expresses amazement.
• These differences are significant enough to influence interpretations of Allah’s nature and Muhammad’s role, undermining the Quran’s claim to perfect clarity:
• Surah Hud (11:1): “This is a Book whose verses are perfected and then explained in detail from [one who is] Wise and Acquainted.”
3. Implications for Quranic Inerrancy
• Muslims believe the Quran is preserved and free of contradictions:
• Surah An-Nisa (4:82): “Then do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from [any] other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction.”
• However, the differences between Hafs and Warsh raise questions:
• If Allah “praying” is problematic, why does one recitation include it?
• If both are valid, how can the Quran avoid contradictory meanings?
Reactions by Islamic Scholars
1. Defense of Both Readings:
• Scholars argue that both recitations are valid, as they are part of the seven canonical readings (Qira’at).
• They claim the Hafs reading refers to Allah’s “condemnation” rather than literal amazement, while the Warsh reading reflects Muhammad’s emotional reaction.
2. Preference for Warsh:
• Some scholars and translators lean toward the Warsh recitation to avoid the theological complications of attributing amazement to Allah.
3. Use of Tafwid:
• When confronted with theological issues in the Hafs recitation, scholars often invoke tafwid (consigning the meaning to Allah alone), sidestepping the need for explanation.
Conclusion
The difference between the Hafs and Warsh recitations of Surah As-Saffat (37:12) highlights a significant theological issue:

Assalamualaikum brother,
I seriously can't tell you that I'm so shocked 😲 and happy 😊 to know that Allah the almighty has revealed the Qur'an in 7 ahrof and 10 qirat... This video means a lot to me
Finally, I have all my questions been answered, alhamdulillah. Very well explained 👍👍 JazakAllahu khairan.
