    Howdons recommended using a cloth, I want to use a brush, but customer wants me to do what Howdon says. Have you ever used a cloth to apply?
    Also, the doors are already hung. Is it prone to running/curtains?
    Many thanks

    • @new2property

      Hi Brendan,
      I`ve not used a cloth so cant compare, however, I can tell you mine look great, you would never know the difference.
      I`d be very reluctant to do it with a brush if they have to stay hung, personally I`d take them off to work on them, especially if its for a customer.

      I used a brush because I had never used Osmo before and the doors were already hung so I got some runs at the bottom of the grooves which is why your supposed to use a cloth as the brush puts too much on, there is nothing wrong with using a brush for the grooves but for any flat areas a cloth is best and you must wipe the accumulated oil from the bottom ledge to stop runs forming ! 👍

      Hi,
      Thanks very much for watching and for dropping a comment, I would leave it a few hours at least, best to leave it over night if you can, you just want to ensure its fully dry so nothing sticks when you flip it over

    • @new2property

      I don't see why not thinking about it. The only thing you need to watch is that you only use just enough for it to soak in rather than sitting and drying.

    Great video and thanks for sharing! Do you know if your doors were solid oak or a vaneer? The piece of paper on my unfinished genoa glazed door says not to oil or wax - confusing... Im guessing it needs to be matt varnished... Also, how much darker did the osmo oil make the doors? I'm trying to match a factory finished genoa door

    • @new2property
      @new2property  2 года назад +1

      Hi,
      The doors are solid oak not glazed, it might be worth checking yours with the supplier as they will know if you can oil them.
      They did go quite a bit darker after I applied the oil, from a pale to a tan I would say.
      Good luck with your project.
