  • My landlord is blaming my plant collection on high humidity in my home.
    She gave me one month to get rid of all my plants except 6 per room.
    All my plants are outside and in my van until further notice!
    I am so traumatized!
    I hope you all are having a better day!
    Thanks for watching Plants&Blue!

    As a property manager and Realtor I can say unless it’s a term in your Lease they are not able to require that. A landlord has zero ability to dictate how you live within the home as long as it is not causing property damages or violating a term in the lease.

      Humidifiers can cause damage, I think the landlord is looking at it backwards. Plants in and of themselves don't create extra humidity. I have heard of ac problems that were blamed on plants, and no plants are the reason there is water coming out the vents.

    • @PlantsAndBlue
      @PlantsAndBlue  2 месяца назад +3

      Thanks for that message! I now have to wait for the next round of conclusions and they should now know 100% I have caused no damage and even though I did what they requested, my humidity stayed at 63% and when they were here in April with snow outside and windows closed and all my collection inside…it was at 71% but we had 2 showers that day! So it would have went down some as well…..they know nothing about plants nor does the company who came to take the readings…..the landlord made up the number 6 per room….not sure where she came up with that number!

      @@Gee-xb7rt Anyone can see on RUclips of houseplant tours and plant room tours and 300 plants in one room….even does not cause mold! No I agree it is not my plants! Thanks for your support!

      @@PlantsAndBlue Do you keep the heat low? Heat will lower the humidity. You can also buy dehumidifiers, an apt sized one is less than 100 USD. Plants will only raise the the humidity like 2-3%, I'm assuming you live in a very wet climate.

      @@PlantsAndBlue yeah, I would think getting a dehumidifier would be good, there are so many reasons an interior could be overly humid, usually from the building itself.

      Thank you Stacy! Yes it is crazy how the bad situation got twisted and became worse with no consideration what works for my family and I…..none of their property was damaged and I have never only had 30 plants upstairs since I have lived there for the past 10 yrs….and we have never had a violation in 10 years…..I wish I never told them….technically I did not have to since it all was able to be cleaned…..but too late now! Thanks again!

    Oh, Tina - this is absolutely heartbreaking to watch. I can hear your despair! So very, very sorry this is happening to you. I can't imagine the plants are the cause, unless you were running a dozen humidifiers 24/7 (which I know you were not). This seems terribly unfair. Sending BIG hugs! Crossing fingers and toes! Praying! And hoping Karma comes around for this landlord person. Please keep us posted. Wish I lived there so I could harbor some off your planty fugitives for you, friend. 💚🪴💚🪴💚🪴💚🪴💚🙏🏽

      @@PlantsAndBlue Oh, Tina - I've just read through all your responses. This is a genuine NIGHTMARE! First of all, the safety of yourselves and your GIRLS is the top priority! From watching too much HGTV back in the day, I know you can't tackle that kind of mold by yourself, no matter how hard your clean. They need to get professionals in there to get rid of the mold and then declare that place safe. Those guys wear hazmat suits for a reason! And I'm sure they can determine the REAL cause of the problem. Which WE all know is definitely not your plants. Hang in there and stay safe! This is such an invasion on every level! 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
