    that bolt is such a pain to cut, probably the best way to do this though. thanks for the info

    Good job Josh! I just did mine also on my 01 SS. I cut the bolt and got a original M12 -1.75 pitch -65mm long -10.9 grade bolt from bolt supply place near me( this way you can use the original nut with this bolt).

      @davidk4332 Год назад

      My question is did you have to put the bolt in upside-down or did you get it to fit back through the top? Also the bolt I'm finding in that size has 16mm head and not 15 should still work though

      @@davidk4332 I put the M12 -1.75 pitch -65mm long -10.9 grade bolt in from the bottom and original nut on top.
      Thats the ORIGINAL SIZE BOLT! Hope it helps!

      I know this is an old video but I wanted to clear something up. I saw that You jacked the car up using frame under engine which is a good location. But jack stands should never be placed under the 3 layers of body thickness sheet metal that is spot welded. Often times doing so will bend those layers over to 1 side or another. The lower control arms are good as long as the stands are on solid concrete or the subframe as far forward as is safe. If car ha subframe connectors with a thick piece of flat steel at front that is roughly a 3 1/4" square I would use that for a jacking location in certain situations such as removing just 1 tire for whatever reason . I usually put a tire/wheel under there for added security.

      @@christopherfrost9614 This is not my video, your reply is in the wrong place. The jack stands ALWAYS go under the frame ONLY!

    Good day.. I just came across your channel today and subscribed... I just bought a new power steering rack for my 94 trans am. I removed the stock GM bulky kmember and replaced it with a BMR kmember for the LT1.. I didn't have to cut of the bolt to get access to remove the power steering rack. Maybe it's different with a LS1 motor?? . How ever great tutorial on how to center the rack to get the proper alignment with the the outer tie rod ends..🇺🇲

    14:48 Fyi if anyone reads this, if PS fluid looks like chocolate milk then there an air leak somewhere else in the system. Probably needed a new power steering pump as well. No big deal buy a new pump and throw it in.
