Except the paint job is garbage and it looks terrible in person. Not worth $400.

Props to that team they deserve so much credit for making one of the most cute and marketable characters in SW.
I received mine a few days ago.. The details and likeness to the real puppet are INSANE!!! I'm just loving it even more every day!! A very huge "Thank You!!" to the Sideshow and Legacy effects people.. This has been a very much anticipated collectible and words can't express my gratitude and happiness to finally own one!! Definitely the next best thing to actually owning the prop.. 😁😁😁

I am so lucky to have the Child with me.. He is absolutely amazing.. The craftsmanship is totally magical!!!! I just wish he was articulated so I could sit him down and lift his little hands... But his face!!!! OMG! he is hypnotizing to look at , his little nose =) and the clothes are truly stunning!!! Thank you for making him just like the one we love and see on the screen!!

I grew up in the eighties and I totally love the "Henson" puppet looks of Grogu (baby yoda) The Child. I wish I had had one of these lol :) I recently made a music cover of the theme and had to opt for cgi animation and believe me it's not the same :)

Beautiful work legacy and sideshow. The prototype is a little bit cuter/better quality than the pre order. In Australia "The Child" is the same price as a second hand car with registration. If you could make it unbreakable and easy to carry that would be great. :)

I absolutely love this little guy and appreciate so much the work that has gone into him. However being a sculptor, there is a small part of me that wishes he was sculpted from clay and not through a program.
He was sculpted. Period. Respect the art who did that work, because the talent, passion and effort is involved is the same as if he had done on clay.
Also, maybe you've noticed the huge manual work involved that model.

You can actually tone down the redness on the cheeks w/a baby wipe.. I did that to mine and it brought it down nicely.. There are some RUclips instructional videos as well..

From my perspective, its older in appearance than the tv shows version.
I'm actually surprised with the price. For reference, a scale model of the Razor Crest is being sold by Hasbro for about $350. However, since it's injection molded the craftsmanship really ends at creating the molds. Compared to the individually craftsmanship of creating each life size figure of The Child. Very impressive imo
And at $375 I think its priced very reasonably. I reckon that would be a good investment as they would sell out fast and be sought after!
