Frank Esposito I think it maybe that there is a little too much red near the eyes and the wrinkles are a bit too heavy (which is understandable) but in my opinion still looks pretty cute just not as cute.
@@user-dm6cy8gl3p appreciate that, friend. I'm aware there's some issues with him, but most can be rectified with the painting process. I went a little too heavy on the shading, as I was hoping to really accentuate his details and went a little too far. The red around the eyes I did a bit much on as well. Thankfully these are easily corrected if I make more. I can just "tone it down" a bit. Appreciate the feedback I've been getting. It does help. The trouble with doing just one and showing the first finished product - if there's anything wrong with it, it'll be displayed for all time. Even if you fix it, it won't be the version everyone sees. This happened with Pennywise - I STILL get comments about his "hair not being right", years later, AS IF I didn't know and didn't fix it years ago, but it's not the one they see.
It's all fun and games until a poltergeist fuses with that thing and starts moving at 3 am

Hi , first, I think this baby yoda looks fantastic. Secondly, I was wondering what material you used to mold it because it really has a great skin texture. Thank you !
He's made out of the same material as the show version - Platinum silicone :) Very expensive stuff, but it's the industry standard, and though I may fail sometimes, I try to bring the best I can, using the best materials I can get my hands on. Glad you like him!

I usually cast them directly into the mould. I took the eyes out of the sculpture and past them in during the casting :)

LoreCraft seeing you make baby yoda reminds me of a magazine I have in my collection that shows all the old stop motion puppets made for star wars movies as, well as some of the clay renderings of different alien ideas they had its a magazine. My father collected got the magazine when the first movie had premiered. I think CGI is getting better but still doses not beat the presence of practical creations.

Thank you! I'd like to invest more in poseable armature tech - I don't have the equipment or the facilities.... I'm still working out of my kitchen... but I'd like to move into that territor for sure. It requires ball and socket armature construction - I know how it's done but I've never done it before. I'd have to buy a load of new stuff, soldering, metal cutting tools, etc. Would add even more costs and be more time consuming... it would be something I would do on request for a sale if I got to that point. Adding it to the video timelapse would increase the time to put a video out from 2 weeks to 3, probably. But I'd like to do it! THanks for the feedback!
@@LoreCraft would simple heavy wire maybe work? Just curious! If you know where to bend the joints, even if it's all one piece, it might still bring the desired result!
@@rebmemer there's an issue with metal fatigue. A strange property of bending metal wires, the flex point begins to harden the more it's bent, and small microscopic cracks begin to form. The more it's bent, the harder it gets at the flex point and more likely it is to fracture. That's why when I put wire in my pieces to allow buyers to position them a little, I let them know not to do it too much. It's also why the early animators stopped using wire and went for ball and socket armatures (that and spring back effect of wire means it will bend and reflex back a little after every movement, making imprecise adjustments in stop motion). It's a bit of a subject to get into and I don't know all that much. But just working the aluminium heavy gauge here - the more I bend it, the harder it becomes to bend back in shape again. A weird, but accurate property of the material.
