    If you're curious, yes, you need the tier 1 damage mod to overheat it in one burst. Inflicting electricity for the damage boost from the tier 5 mod doesn't seem to increase the heat infliction-which is the thing I actually did check before forgetting to check this.

      This has me a bit confused, do damage improvements improve heat application? I always thought heat was just a set separate damage value. Is that why for the flamethrower heat build up you were using the damage mod instead of the heat mod? Sorry if I'm just totally lost, still kinda noob at understanding this stuff.

    • @theoreminegaming
      @theoreminegaming 2 года назад +3

      @@pj-wille The shard diffractor's heat value is tied to the damage value. Either 25% or 100% based on if you take armor breaking or not

    • @LazyMaybe
      @LazyMaybe  2 года назад +1

      @@pj-wille With some options they do(like this one where a percentage of damage is also done as heat), CRSPR isn't one of them. For sticky fuel I take the damage mod because I'm using just the sticky flames to light things on fire and those aren't affected by the heat mod, but for facemelter I use the heat mod.
      In either case I could build for faster overheats, but my goal isn't overheating at absolute max speed at the exclusion of everything else. The reason I choose facemelter in the first place, for instance, is because with it you're able to have the +heat mod while also still getting +4 damage on your flame particles which is really nice against bugs. Rival threat missions aren't exclusively robots, after all.

      It would have been cooler if you could dismantle weapons and components on them like you do with armor of normal enemies, destroying them dead-space-style piece-by-piece all while hampering with their advantages- such as: enemy is too dangerous flying? Shoot its thrusters and force it to the ground. Too much firepower? Shoot its turrets etc.
      The way they are now, they're simply annoying at best and infernal at worst to fight against. I feel like they need some grand rework for them to be adequate to the game, EVEN if we already have builds to instantly vaporize them from the map. To me, they're not a fun challenge.
