  • Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Kiton, the tailoring house from Naples founded in the '60s, is the go-to bespoke suit designer for the world's well-moneyed elite. One of the most expensive suits in the world is the Kiton K-50 line. It takes selected tailors 50 hours to produce it by hand and there are no more than 50 of these suits made each year. It can also cost up to $100,000. Bloomberg takes an exclusive look. (Source: Bloomberg)

    Clothes made to rip off millionaires. I love the business model though! I've worked in companies that provided services to the super rich. With bullshit marketing and brand exclusivity, you can make a CEO of a fortune company pay $100 for a cucumber and convince him that it will help him live longer than a "regular" cucumber.

      And how exactly is it a rip-off when Kiton is so transparent with what you're paying for? The customer knows exactly what they're buying, and it's handmade expertise using the world's finest fabrics.

      Suits are actually really deceptive (well tailored ones) and they do make a lot of men in average to even sloppy body shapes look much smarter and more attractive. That being said, it's always the cheaper and healthier alternative to lead a healthy lifestyle.

      kiton and brioni are both undisputed leaders of the luxury suit market and zegna yes they make some great suits too.Kiton v brioni is to a large extent a matter of personal taste Brioni sharp dressed power look or kitons more elegant understated style that truly only the discerning will recognise kiton also has some very exclusive fabrics,the only reason this kiton on the video retails for so much its VICUNA (some kind of rare south american creature with a nice coat)most kiton run about £7-£10k a similar price to brioni.
      ive picked up 3 kiton suits over a period of time for less than £30 on ebay similarly priced and amount of brioni too they were pretty difficult to pick up at that price and watched a lot go past what i could afford as you mention zegna (2k plus retail)are also great suits fully canvassed etc and you can find these most any day of the week on the bay for less than 50 dollars.these suits are generally great condition (even a billionaire aint gonna do gardening in a kiton, brioni or even a zegna)and all top quality italian tailors have a proud style ,history and quality that genuinely transcends fashion and current fleeting trends.
      truth of the matter seems to be common fashion brands armani,gucci,ralf lauren,versace,tom ford (made by zegna i beleive)generally go for much higher prices than kiton or brioni or zegna even though tom ford are made by zegna in the same factory because they go for brands that they heard of,many people unintentionally limit themselves on their material and life aspirations.
      no point buying to show off etc barely anyone would ever notice, it can be embarrasing when a few do (sales people in luxury goods stores etc can be quite amusing but generally reaches a point where i spare them tripping over each other and point out im broke and waiting for my next uk equivalent of a benefit cheque)
      Not even much good for job interviews receptionist "what job you come for"few times got comments from ceo in interviews like "everyone thought you was after MY job when you arrived etc"seems ok for breaking the ice but the meetings often quickly descend into a relaxed but less than formal occasion in fact ive just decided next time a ceo comments"i thought you may have come for MY job"im going to reply "I HAVE come for YOUR position AND im going to get it"sorry talk of my unemployment got me down a bit time for a little positive thinking lol

    Everyone knows that the Naples garment / tailoring industry is run by the Camorra so of course they sell the suits for $100k. The tailors probably only use $100 in materials to make it too.

    • @nathanieljarve1644
      @nathanieljarve1644 8 лет назад +2

      Not a chance. At 100k I'd almost guarantee you are getting a Vicuna jacket and pants. You might be able to buy 5"x5" of it for $100 considering it costs anywhere from $1800-$3000 a yard to buy. They could use anywhere from $6,750 to $11,250 worth of material in that suit. Not to mention the cost of paying each person who will be involved in making it. You're talking about some of the very best tailors in the world. Also for that amount of money, that probably covers tailoring for life.

    • @Big-Show1
      @Big-Show1 8 лет назад +1

      +Nathaniel Jarve What do you mean not a chance? fair enough I exaggerated the cost of materials but the Napoli garment industry is controlled by the Mafia(camora) which would also add to the cost. Everyone has to be paid.

      Nick I'd like to disagree when a suit costs 100k they don't market it to people who make millions a year cause your right they work to hard for their money to spend it on one suit it's meant to be sold to billionaires who blow hundreds of thousands of dollars everyday where a 100k suit to him is like the middle class who make 125k a year spend 2-5k on a suit

      MrMagee78 the thing is, money doesn't stand on the way of you getting all of the things you named. Actually most of the time it helps. If you don't have money you'll have more problems trying to be healthy.

      MrMagee78 Poor people sometimes don't have the money to be healthy. So really, money does more than pay the bills. Money runs society. Now I know what you're thinking ''what a greedy ass boso'' am I right? Lmao. I give money to the poor, I volunteer but I also spend money on luxury. Doesn't make me a bad guy to buy a pair of expensive sunglasses. Now I am sure that money could be spent well over in Africa giving people access to water and whatnot, but instead it goes to a company that gives the money to other companies and people it does business with. That money goes into circulation and supports more companies. Everyone gets richer except me, I get a pair of sunglasses. Everyone is happy. Except you of course, but eh..... ya

    Kiton suits realy are amazing quality i have a few of them ok theyre not vicuna and im not rich i recieve about $400 per month.
    Kiton range from say 10k=100k retail with the vicuna shown here being at the top end but they are ALL amazing quality that is an undisputed fact.
    Kiton clothes dont draw attention to themselves with tacky brand labels and over exagerated pick stitching on the lapels to scream out "look at me i got a few hand stitches it must be expensive
    "heck no doubt the indian lady down the market could do that for a few quid.
    They simply make great suits by hand with tidy stitches and fantastic materials and the quality on the inside with full canvas and hand sewn quality silk linings is if anything better than the outside.
    No one is going to notice in general life no one rushes up and says "Wow 3/2 roll, classic neopolitan shoulder, so theyre not about showing off,theyre simply about wearing a well made suit that will literally last for decades in fact kiton suits can last so well they actually provide a free tailoriong service where clothing can be adjusted larger or smaller over your lifetime as your body changes shape so they are no fashion icon either.
    fickle fashion changes quickly quality does nt
    top quality materials and the time of superbly skilled tailors come at a premium price

    Ugly and expensive.....even if it comes from Italy, doesn't mean i have to spend $100,000 on it....you know what else a $100,000 can do for me??.....Buy two 2011 BMW 1 Series M......one for me and one for my girlfriend.....And 1 EXCELLENT 3 PIECES INDOCHINO SUIT, 3 great pairs of DEER STAGS SHOES, 3 pairs of Great and classic shoes FROM MODATOI for my girlfriend again, fuel money for both cars and lunch money....plus some left change for some fun activities.....!!

      Indochino is not great. Most fit poorly, are to trendy and are more time costly then anything else. You should bless your feet with better shoes. Also, if you're looking at this video and wondering why someone would spend money on a suit, you should probabaly research the background of their clients.

      of course, but these suits are not for you..they are for people who use money as toilet paper.

    ok ok 1st step just pick the cheapest maybe from dumbster
