My wonderful wife makes the best cornbread, pretty much the same way. We cook on cast iron, but have one cast iron skillet that hasn’t been washed the 31 years we’ve been married. All that pan is used for is corn bread.

Very nice video. I have never seen stuffing with egg or apple cider vinegar in it. Looks good. I have heard that if you cook it in the turkey it is called stuffing, and if you cook it alone it is called dressing. No matter what it's called it's my favorite part of Thanksgiving meal. It's great in turkey sandwiches too with some cranberry sauce.

I love buttermilk I buy it open it up and let it set for a few days. We only get it in qt paper containers I dont what opening it does but its thicker and tangier. As a kid it was always pull my finger trick that made me mad…lol

I have a friend who claims he has an axe that has been in his family for seven generations. He then goes on to say that it has had 2 heads and 3 handles in that time. :)

My mother-in-law from Texas made corn bread stuffing but used biscuits instead of bread & onions & lots of celery. She made two roasting pans full & we ate all of one & the rest was for leftovers. I only had stomach room enough for turkey, stuffing & gravy even though there were MANY delicious sides. We used to make that tea too! Heaven.

Stuffing is what's in the bird, dressing is baked in a pan by itself, some years we do both, 2 different kinds, traditional sage stuffing in the bird, and a pan of cornbread, jalapeño and cheese dressing on the side....all varieties are good, my mother's people came from Roanoke Virginia and the mayflower and Plymouth rock b4 that, one of the traditions they brought through their descendants to South Eastern Iowa was stuffing or dressing with smoked oysters, very good too, I really like the traditional sage, white bread, onion, celery, etc...with sausage, a spicy breakfast sausage all cooked and crumbled up mixed through...I'm certainly going to do the Irish potato cake, appreciate you sharing the recipe, made me hungry for black walnuts, lol, grandmother, (dommie anne) had a black walnut tree right out her kitchen window, had to shoo the Squirrels away and leave the dogs out too so they'd keep after the Squirrels as well....

When I started taking guitar lessons, the teacher asked me what kind of guitar I wanted to play and I said, "twangy guitar". He was rather perplexed at that. :-)

Happy Thanksgiving yall! I was just fixing to ask if you had ever tried the Tupperware trick to peel your eggs, and then you talked about it in the video lol. I'm thankful you decided to upload today! Have a blessed day!

Oh No!!! Nobody drinks Buttermilk plain except maybe some Pakistani, Finnish and or Dutch households. Yuck. yuck, and yuck. I only use it for baking and occasionally for marinating and I would never drink it. :(

Thanks for sharing. Couldn't help but smile when I heard Katie talking about how the older people like to tease the kids about getting their nose. I always thought it was kind of corny because I always knew they really didn't have my nose. But I still find myself doing it when I'm around kids. Not sure how long that has been going on, but at least as long as I've been around. Maybe it's just a North Carolina thing :) Thanks for the memory and Happy Thanksgiving.

I would like to report that I was having my nose stolen by my Uncle in the farm country of Central Illinois clear back in the late 60's. This made me smile as well. Anyone from anywhere else? It would be neat to hear of this happening in another country somewhere!

@@richardclark. I'm 74 now , but vividly remember my Uncle Jack always doing it to me when I was about 5 , 6 , and 7. How could we fall for it so often ? Maybe I liked him doing it as he was giving me some attention. Winnipeg Manitoba Canada , Richard. Happy Thanksgiving to you and family.

@@richardclark. I had my nose stolen hundreds of times growing up in Illinois too. I now live in Canada and children’s noses are stolen here too. :)

I've loved drinking butter milk ever since I was a little girl, I grew up living right up the cliffs looking down at Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River, every Saturday I'd go with my mommy to the Cleveland Market, stall after stall of veggies, fruits, baked goods, cheeses, fresh meats, poultry, eggs, it had been there over a 100 years even 60 years ago, one of the best stalls was the Stumpfs, fine European family and their wonderful smoked meats and fish and poultry, they had a real milk can, old school metal kind, with a metal dipper full of cold, fresh butter milk, I'd drink at least 2 cups every time, we'd take our glass milk jug to take some home, I sometimes salt it a little b4 I drink it but I LOVE butter milk so much!! Yummy, and yes its wonderful for baking and cooking, homemade ranch dressing, lots of fresh dill, ooooh I'm hungry now, lol

I’d have to pass on that stuffing. It resembles nothing like the stuffing I’ve had growing up. Eggs, mustard and vinegar just don’t fit in stuffing in my neck of the woods. I love Russian tea. Haven’t had it in years. Funny about what says ‘home’ cookin to people. I’m sure your stuffing is every bit of comfort food to you. Enjoy your dinner😊
