One my fav things about your games is the rundown of the civ/leader each game on pros and cons of their traits, techs and units. I often play leaders at random but like to get your views on them. I might play Greeks next game I play 💪
Always nice to see you play my favorite leader. :3 I just wish Phalanxes stayed as spearmen, maybe with like hill defense/attack cause Greece is pretty hilly
Hi Henrik, I know you probably have enough on your plate content wise. But just an idea, have you ever played Sid Meier’s Pirates? Might be a bit of fun to do and it’s around same era as Civ 4.
Long term, doesnt settling to share cottage hurt the long term potential of cities? I suppose the early game is more important to use to position yourself most efficiently.
that's a good point, but the capital might grow to size 20 whereas the other cities will never before a while, the benefits of growing cottages for the bureaucracy capital don't compare to the little, end game, downsides of having close cities. It will also save a lot of maintenance and worker turns to have a stacked empire rather than an overextended one :)
Are there some hidden stats for the AI? That can not just be bad Luck. And yes, i remember playing Civ4 when i was a Kid, i had the same experience, I ressorted to savescumming, because f this shit. Any loss under 20% neant a reload for me.
A Greek island full of scientists? This is the atlantis playthrough

i think settling that plains hill and churning out warriors would have been effective
