Cheryl, I appreciate my subscribers so much and I am glad you have been coming back for more for such a long time. I didn't want to leave anyone hanging. Kim
I just ran across your channel while looking for a video explaining the difference betwee the Direct Cut and Scan to Cut on the DX125, It is an excellent video and I subscribed to your channel because of this. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you for this video. I just upgraded and bought a SDX125 this week... I was thinking I was crazy when doing a simple direct cut of a stamped image over how much WORSE the machine was doing than my trusty ol' 350... sharp/jagged looking outline cuts instead of the nicely rounded ones I was used to... it looks more like I did a poor job of fussy cutting than the appearance that I used a die that my 350 gives me. I just love how quiet it is and the autoblade is nice (though I only cut a few types of paper and I know the blade settings for those by heart) but it just isn't worth the price difference for me especially if I can't get as good or quick of a basic scan & cut with it!
Candi, while each machine has a personality which accounts for differences, I really think the CM350 is better at cutting out stamped images. Still, we can help any machine do better with tips and tricks. Thanks for watching.
Hi dear, I have a DX. Can you select many objects and add the border to all at once or do we need to do it one by one? When I select all, the "border option" is not clickable. Thanks!! you rock.
What a great tutorial on differences between machines. I have a DX machine and I love it. I agree with the outline centering issue, but the auto blade technology is worth the difference to me. There are other features in the DX that I like. You are a great teacher and you are SO kind to take the time to answer questions. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much Sue. I spend a couple of hours a day answering questions and comments and some even get lost because they are posting and ask them in so many places. Having our group is helping but I knew when I had that many questions in the same video, I better address some. I appreciate your comment.
Hi Kimberly. I love how you explain the 2 machines, I love my cm 350 it is great, and also your videos are always interesting to watch and we always learn some thing new, TFS, Cheers Anna.
HiKim, I’ve enjoyed many of your videos! Can you tell me the day/times of when you do live videos? I just got my sdx225 and you’ve helped me so much!!! ❤️
I don’t do very many live videos due to my bandwidth. If you see something that says Premiere, it means that I am there live to chat with my audience. That means the video was recorded earlier and I’m there to launch it live. It often takes me several hours to upload one video so I don’t schedule when it will be launched. I may do a live today because I have a lot of Happy Mail to share. Click the 🛎 and you will be notified when I go live. My tutorials are hardly ever live because they take me several days to produce.
Rita Montero Great! In my 2 previous videos, I used only the SDX125. Now you know what your machine can and can’t do in relation to these digital images.
Thanks for making this tutorial. So you can only remove the spots in the background to clean it up at the beginning? You can't do this after it's been saved?
You can ignore objects when you scan in the images. Then, later, after you save and retrieve the data, you can trash whatever bits you don't want. They can be deleted easily but it is time consuming. That is why ignoring them to begin with saves time. Thanks for watching.
You mention how great the cm350 is for being able to manually change the outline width & it being better in that respect than your sdx model. Does that apply to ALL cm models would you say, or just the 350? (Just bought the 700 2nd hand.)
I’ve got my scan and cut on my wish list and ready to order but kids are doing next week and I have a huge card order. I’m afraid I just can’t handle a new machine this week. So next week I’ll order it and once the kids are gone I can concentrate learning with your videos. Any suggestions what other accessories I need order? I. Ordering 125
Awesome! You definitely need the Universal Pen Holder. I always have an extra mat, blade, and holder on hand. I’m going to share my links with you. Please use any one of them right before you take the plunge and order. I don’t get any points for referring my viewers if something is in the wish list.
May I ask a question please.. newbie here that needs a little direction. I have a snc2 my goal is to be able to stamp color and cut for scrapbook pages and traveler’s notebooks (I don’t make cards) can you direct me to the correct playlists and it videos. BTW your pencil ✏️ trick is priceless.. thank you. Margi

Hi, love your tutorials! I’m new to this, please can I ask how you cut around these sentiments that come with the pack (on the cards) eg it’s like a normal martini.....I want to cut out lots of texts and phrases as I can’t use scissors (due to ...surgery) but use lots of phrases on tags, multi media, cards to etc......thank you so much for your time....quick last qu...I’ve got the new Disney d x (or sx) do you have a basic tutorial saying this button is for......etc. thank you again!
Stephanie, welcome to the ScanNCut World. You are in luck because I just created two tutorials right before this one and both show how to cut out the sentiments using shapes and both focus specifically on this Share Sunshine stamp set. I am sharing them with you here along with a coupon to a course I have on the SDX which will really help you. I go through every setting. ruclips.net/video/j0PFwf5jzTs/видео.html
Papered Chef perfect! Thank you for taking the time to reply! I’d be lost without your tutorials......the instructions (or lack of!) that came with the machine said watch you tube videos!
Stephanie Paterson Really, I never really read those instructions but I’m surprised they would take the time to print something that sends you elsewhere.
Awesome Frieda! I am glad that I could help. It is so much fun to mass produce with the help of the ScanNCut. It makes the process so much faster and efficient.
@@PaperedChef great thanks for that tip! Asked you another question yesterday on another vid (old one), about Mat slipping on cutting. I re-glued the mat myself with liquid glue but may have gone over edge with black lines and numbers. Could that be why it’s slipping (you mention only go up to the line and wipe excess off). Could that be the issue cm700 standard mat.
i have a saved image on my scan & cut, why can't i cut it ~ i have a cm650W ~ i see my image on my S&C, Add Save & OK ... but no CUT feature ... what am i doing wrong?
Hi. I missed 99% of your live video, and I asked a question at the very end, but I missed your answer. I just ordered the 125, but wondering if I should change my order to a 350 because you indicated the 350 cuts stamped images better. My main reason for getting the machine is to cut stamped images. Help???
Twilight, one of the many reasons I don't do many live videos is because I can barely read the questions as they scroll by so fast not to mention that is it hard to look at crafts and read. My point is that you didn't miss a live presentation. This particular video was launched as a Premiere which means it is pre-recorded. That way, I can chat with my viewers and concentrate on that. So, bottom line is please go back and watch the whole thing. I really like MY CM350 better for cutting stamped images. My SDX125 has a terrible personality and becomes stubborn and misaligned often. I can get it back to normal but it takes time to keep adjusting it. So, if all you are doing it cutting stamped images, the CM350 is all you need but the SDX125 has so many more features. If you take the plunge and get one, please use my link. Thanks. ScanNCut2 CM350E: amzn.to/35szruS
@@PaperedChef Thank you, Kim. Unfortunately, it's too late for me to change my order, as it has already shipped. But, if mine has the same issues as you've had, and if I end up sending it back, I will get the 350 instead. Thank you for your thoughts and help. Your videos are awesome and SOOO helpful. Have a great day.
Avi, you can use the free Canvas Workspace software to send text to your machine. Here is a tutorial. I used a USB for cutting the vinyl. You could also cut paper or draw instead. ruclips.net/video/pUREEU2EtN4/видео.html

You know I'm so disappointed they didn't give me a manual with my sdx125 do you think that that means is fraud or they just don't even bother to give manuals anymore I have to go on the website and get a damn manual
Nobody gets a manual. If I recall, there was just a Quick Start Guide. The manual is online. I know, it takes a ton of paper and ink to print. Sorry Delana.
I have a SC350 and wondered how to cut an outline distance of .04 on a mug and also cut out the inside of the handle on the mug. Is this possible? (July 2015 Paper Pumpkin)
In order to cut the inside of the mug, this is how I do it. Hope I’ve not confused more than helped with my instructions here. Papered Chef I’m positive can interpret my instructions and possibly do a tutorial! For sure she can explain much better! This is the easiest and most efficient way I’ve found to quickly accomplish inside cuts with direct cut. 1.Flip your paper with stamped image or images to the reverse side. 2.Use a light box or a sunny window to visualize your stamped image(s) on the reversed side. 3.Use a pencil to draw the inside area(s) or mug handle(s) in this case you want to cut. 4.Scan your drawn images into your machine and use direct cut without a border to cut them (your stamped image(s) is on the reverse side). 5.Once you’ve completed the inside cuts, flip your paper to the side with your stamped images, and use direct cut now with border (outline) if you like. *To answer adding a .04 outline distance on your SC350. Once you’ve scanned your image use the icon with the circular with inside circular shape to set a outline distance (Our Papered Chef shows this in the first minutes of this video). Should add for my cutting inside handle method, your penciled in cut line(border) needs to be drawn with the approximate outline distance of .04 or distance you’ve chosen if any.
Roberta, you can do this in so many ways. You don't have the same layering options directly on the machine as you do with the SDX. So, you can still use Scan to Cut Data, bring it into Canvas Workspace and add the offset there. Definitely check out Linda's tip and trick because that will work too. Not only that, you will not need software.
Linda, I love your method because it doesn't involve Workspace. I will show a couple of ways to do this with some stamp sets I have. I am in the middle of a card marathon so I am not sure when I can get to it so a great BIG thanks for sharing your awesome tips.

Thanks, very helpful!
Also, why do you go up to 12 then back to the number you want on the blade? Is that necessary every time?
It isn’t necessary, just recommended. If you are using the same paper, do it once in a while because the blade depth changes over time.
