Today we're talking... couture lollipops. You heard me right- they were a trend spearheaded by the Sugar Factory in 2009, and seen in the hands of stars such as Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian (the Kardashians/ Jenners in general tbh), Rihanna, and more. We'll talk about how they came to be, some places in media and pop culture they were spotted, and whether they seemed to catch on to the extent they were marketed.

i.....have no words.....there's NOTHING in this world that doesn't exist 😭
This lollipop era really made me take a lollipop to the clubs so when I was dancing I pulled this out because I wanted to be like the celeb sugar lollipop thing.
@@locjake7230 Waitttt iconic-
lollipop luxury
are u referencing jeffree star's song
Only Naomi could bring us this type of quality content.
5:13 that’s how I discovered about these lollypops. I had a marie claire magazine at 12yrs old and I stumbled across this image of Rihanna and Katy Perry. I was obsessed with this image, still ingrained in my mind today lol!
@@sabrina1646 Omg yesss I remember seeing them in Seventeen
i totally forgot about these! reminds me of when starbucks was suuuuuper trendy in the early days of instagram. iconic looking handheld frivolous food item that was as much a fashion accessory as it was a treat. of course, starbucks became much more mainstream because they're cheaper and they sell things people are happy to consume on a daily basis, but they are so similar from a pop culture trend perspective.
omg I completely forgot about this I remember my aunt got me one as a kid. I didn't it was trend with celebrities
Under no circumstance in my whole life, have I ever heard of this. Like, what?!
I’m thinking about buying one now just because it’s such an unserious concept 😂
ive been into candy history for a minute, this is such a good topic for a video
Why am I about to be 35 in an month and I have no clue about these 😂😂😂😂 I think I saw the necklace ones but thought it was a mic 😂😂😂😂
This might be a little out of nowhere but I think another video you could make in relation to the whole "celebrities selling random stuff" thing could be the rise & (sort of) decline of celbrity fragrances. I know they're still around today but we don't really see it happening as often anymore.
So glad Dana/Pam from RHOBH got a shoutout 😂
I LOVE the topic of this video ❤❤❤ ahhhh the nostalgia
They’re honestly pretty unimpressive. I think nostalgia goggles got a lot of people remembering them differently but they’re just mediocre lollipops on a stick you could easily replicate with a bottle of glue & some craft store crystals. Probably why they fell off like the rest of the soulless fads of the 2010s lol.
Those same flavors are like $0.50 at dollar tree in front of the register (the only thing that aint $1.25😅).
Off topic but could you do a video talking about the downfall in popularity, and lesser need of the VMAs. I saw an interesting tweet talking about how the VMAs is losing its iconic credibility due to things like the show barely showing awards, Taylor Swift winning everything due to her power and how most artists try to recreate past looks and moments and there’s no originality
@@bzzarre815 I’m gonna talk about the VMAs! But I did one on pretty much this same topic last year, can’t remember the title lmao but if you type “Naomi cannibal VMAs” it should come up
Purple t-shirt is gorgeous and looks so good on you Naomi💜
Now we have crumble cookies lol
i still like perfumes from some celebrities, like Jlo, Christina Aguilera, Britney or Shakira. They were huge especially in the 00's. But food or drinks is a no for me.
@@dinasilva9263 I need to get a celeb fragrance of my fave pop girls, I’ve never bought them
this just crossed my mind weeks ago THANK YOU it was so odd
This was a great video lmaooo I can’t believe they were really pedaling these, but at the same time 15 year old me definitely wanted one and my mom said heck nah 😂
@@QueenDeeTV Right my mom woulda laughed 😭
such a great video !! ive always wanted to go to the sugar factory !!!
That’s so weird lol 😂
I used to want sugar factory lollipops so bad when i was in kindergarten. I’m still looking for a stick to buy off of etsy to live my 2000s dream.
How do I not remember this at all? Absolutely wild
Omg when my mom used to travel, she would bring us back these!!!
I still have the Britney Spears Circus one that my parents bought for me as a souvenir when they went to Vegas in 2010(?) lmaoooo can't believe people are selling these for $150 on eBay tho
@@juanitatequila I wonder if anyone’s bought one…
lmfaoooo holy shit. i completely forgot about sugar factory. i swear i have no memory of these lolipops tho 😭
I just bought a couture pop at the Las Vegas airport had to for the nostalgia
Lol I STILL have a Britney Spears lollipop from her Vegas residency that I never opened. It's just part of my Britney collection 😂😅
This is insane! I definitely dont remember these 😂
God... how do i not remember this?? This was right up my alley back in the 2010s!!! But yeah, it's just not worth it now. I know that there's better celebrity food gimmicks (i love crumbl), and not to mention a lollipop stick doesnt seem like something that i wanna keep just cuz its shiny at my big age.
okay hair! you look so pretty! love your makeup too boo 🙂↕️💜
That lip balm that almost every celeb used.. I think, it was called.. EOS??
Honestly the concept of a cute and reutilisable lolipop stick could have some legs... But it would recquiere for all of those local lolipop to have tools to put them on and I don't think we're there yet...
You mean the diamond lollipop that costs thousands, god rich people spend money for anything. Those lollipops remind me of those sticks that have a ball at the end and lights up and turns 😂
I ain’t gonna lie….I went and wanted to go to Sugar Factory cuz of the celebrity culture at that time 😂😂
@@ArtsyFartsy010 oh yeah i used to wanna go sooooo bad 😭 probably knowing i woulda took 2 bites of every thing before it melted
Y’all remember the eos lip balms? And how they had special cases for them?
@@marquisehebbler9471 I’ll admit I had a couple of those…
